1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Young Doll Owners?

Oct 13, 2013

    1. I fell in love with BJDs at 11, and I bought my first doll a week before I turned 13. I'm 17 now, gonna be 18 early next year. I think the youngest doll owner I knew at any point other than myself was my friend who was my age, who hadn't been into BJDs as long, but had been an owner longer than me, so was therefore a younger owner. We still both love our dolls to pieces! Kinda literally. (Not like breaking to pieces! Because they ARE pieces!)

    2. I don't have anyone around in this hobby, but I met a special dolly friend who is younger than me and already managing a wonderful doll family, I'm glad to meet her:D

    3. I remember seeing and wanting a Volks back when they first were starting to get popular something like 10 - 12 years ago, but I was only able to finally get one this year, and I'm 25 now. I don't really know many other doll owners, and the ones I do know are around my age.

    4. I was 13/14 when I first became interested in the hobby and I got my first doll when I got my first job @16 and I'm 23 now :).
Sadly other then all the awesome people here on DoA I don't know anyone in the hobby though. :(

    5. I would not trust my younger, destructive self with a bjd. It's like as soon as I started to understand the value of a dollar, I became so careful with everything. As a child, I was not so nice to my plastic dolls.

    6. I think that it's nice to hear about young people in the hobby. I don7t personally know any. I think some of that is probably because young people (younger than 16) rarely have their own income. You parents who are helping their children like dolls are really so nice ^^

    7. I started collecting when I was sixteen, so I'm pretty young myself. I have a friend who is about a month younger than me who has two dolls, and she started when she was about fifteen or sixteen. Her first doll was the first doll I had ever seen. I think she learned about BJDs from our mutual friend, who probably got her first BJD when she was between twelve and fourteen. But, I didn't see her dolls until I bought one of them from her earlier this year. I have met people as young as eleven who are interested, and had me write down all sorts of information so that they could go look into it.

    8. That's so cool! This will be my daughter too more than likely. Youngest I've met online was 15, haven't met anyone in person though yet.

    9. I got interested in BJDs when I was 15 and saw some on DA but then sort of forgot about them. Im 17 now and just ordered my first doll a month ago. I remembered them when my 9 year old sister and I were talking about her monster high dolls. She ordered a doll too and will be getting a Bobobie Ya Girl

    10. I've known and been interested since I was about 14/15, but I didn't end up getting my first until I was 17 (and I'm 19 now), but that's not to say younger people shouldn't be in the hobby! I think as long as they respect the doll/s, there isn't an issue in the world.

    11. I was 16 or 17 when I found out about BJDs only toke me 10 years to get myself a doll and now im rooted pretty deeply in to the hobby :) Have never met anyone younger than 18 with in the hobby so far..

    12. I think I was around 16 or so when I first became interested in (or should I say I discovered) BJDs and I'm going to be getting my first for my 18th birthday (in about 7 months) but I do know to girls who attend my local(ish) meet who are 14 and 12 and both have a doll or dolls. They are also very mature for girls of their age.

    13. I joined the hobby when I was 13 or 14 and I'm almost 18 now:) but I got my first dolly just a year ago and now I own 3 hahaha, but yeah, I've never met a person of my age who collects BJDs -until now, hello everybody <3- is just me always and most of my friends in the hobby are 30 and up. We have a group of mexican BJD owners and I think I'm the youngest owner among them, they get really impressed by the fact of me being 'so young' and capable of having that amount of dolls. I don't really see myself that young but well, I'm the child there xD hahaha

    14. I found the hobby when I was 14 and became instantly attached. Although I don't have any dollys yet I really just kind of like creeping on the forum XD. I really didn't think there would be to many younger doll owners either but it didn't bother me much at all because I'd rather have people that appreciate the hobby rather than have people close to my own age -w-. I am really glad that I'm not the only 15 year old here.

    15. I was about 12 when i found out about BJD dolls^^ and 13 when i got my first one(Asleep Eidolon Rita,i named him Chance) :):)

    16. I was 13 or 14 when I got into the hobby. :)

    17. My 10 yr old niece loves my dolls. A LOT. She has 2 hujoo's of her own right now. She is content with limited access to mine. For the time being anyway.

    18. i do love BJDs when i'm 13 but my mommy don't want to buy me one, so once i have a job i'm saving for the dolls~ i have it when i'm 22

    19. Got my first doll last year when I was 19, but I was already interested in BJDs for 2 years. =]

    20. got my first doll recently at 17, i was interested in them when i was 13 though, i may be getting my 10 year old cousin one since she seems to like dolls a lot and showed interest in mine, but i'm not sure yet, her puppy chewed up an american girl doll so i'm not sure i'm ready to get her one and when i do it'll probably be a resionsoul, because they're not so expensive and because i personally like them.
