1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Young Doll Owners?

Oct 13, 2013

    1. I started around 15 (which I bought Pullip dolls and such and now I'm 17 (Finally got to buy a legit BJD) , So I guess I'm still considered a young doll owner? :sweat:kitty1

    2. I got into 'dolls' when I was 12, first it was dollfie's because I'm into anime, and then pullips (which are a great starter doll by the way). I'm 13 now and I got into bjd's earlier this year. I've already planned out about 12 characters and their sculpts and have more to come. I'm getting my first bjd for my birthday next year, and after getting some clothes and a wig for Christmas I'm really excited >+<. I met 13 and 15 year old bjd lovers at a meet I went to but they are the only other people I've met in my age range, it was really awesome talking to them though as I can't tell any of my friends at school say because they would think I'm a weirdo :sweat :)

    3. I've never met anyone else who was into BJDs (aside from my younger sister, possibly...). I think I became interested in the hobby at around 14 or 15 years old. There was this one doll whose sculpt name I can't remember, but I really loved him. I remember he was an SD and they dressed him like some sort of a silver ninja. I think he MIGHT have been from Soom? I think I didn't get too many details because I knew I couldn't buy him. But I looked into my other options and it turned out that I really liked the Resinsoul Long too. I almost bought him when I was 16 before chickening out! lol I'm 24 now and I realized that even after all this time, I still loved Long (his face at least... I ended up putting it on Gang's body), and I figured that that probably wouldn't go away if I still wanted him as my first doll 8 years later. So I bought him, he arrived a week ago, and he is soooo pretty. I love him! :D

UPDATE: The silver boy was a Dollzone Yuu!!!

    4. It is surprising that there are so many young teens with their first (or second) bjd, I can see this number growing as time goes on. Young teens are certainly responsible enough to own expensive dolls like these. I am surprised at how many teens are getting their younger sisters or cousins involved. It is so much more fun to share with friends and family. There were also quite a number of mother-daughter owners, so nice to see an activity shared like that. Wonder if any of them have matching doll clothing or maybe matching outfits themselves at meets?

    5. Well I started at the age of 16... Now I'm 19 with three dolls.

    6. Although I'm almost 21 years old now, I ordered my first doll at the age of 15. I considered myself as super-young owner back then. Mostly, because I found it almost impossible to save so much money being a teenager. Now I know, that it's quite common that teenagers buy bjds. ;)
