1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Your biggest accomplishment for the year

Dec 11, 2014

    1. I'm still new and inexperienced, so I haven't done anything major apart from making one piece of clothing. But I think my biggest accomplishment this year was finally getting a doll. I'm so happy with my boys~

    2. as opposed to pretty much every one here, my biggest accomplishment this year was resisting the urge and actually NOT buying another OrientDoll IL

    3. I am finally buying my first brand new doll this year, all my others have been second hand. It makes them no less special because they found me but I am excited to have a doll that is just mine that I can paint and wait for and be excited like everyone else is and have my first official box opening!

    4. I did my first restoration on a junk doll. She only needed a good cleaning, light sanding, and new strings & hooks to be lovely again.

    5. I bought my 3 wish dolls this year (IOS Lacrimosa, SSDF Avalanche and Volks Okita) and finally completed my doll collection with 12 human dolls and a pet BJD. :D No more new doll or spending much money next year is what I promise to myself.

    6. Getting Luca, my tan DZ Luke. I still can't believe I actually have him, I'm constantly dragging him all over the house because of this. Luca completes my "Dollzone Grail Trio", so I won't be wanting another doll for a while.:dance

    7. I got my first SD , also my first hybrid an SD girl (head and body), go my first Pet doll (dollzone coral)
buy my yosds some clothes and shoes, and made the face up for all my dolls n.n

    8. Minus getting my first boys, I also managed to completely pay off a doll body on my own ^u^ I ended up making a "bad" decision and bought a secondhand doll body, but it wasn't until after a little bit that I realized I am not financially stable to be making these kinds of purchases. I didn't ask anyone for help, and the seller was super super kind which made things more satisfying in the end.

    9. My knitting has improved immensely in the last year! My dolls are getting any number of lovely accessories and outfit bits at this point.

Hmm. I also fell back into love with my first whole doll, my venerable Dollshe Hound. I finally nailed down looks and back stories for almost everyone, and I returned to being a more active member of the community.

I also have a dearly-wanted doll on layaway, and allowing myself something like that was a huge accomplishment too. ^///^

    10. Bought my first bjd this year <3<3<3

    11. Finally "finishing" my first doll. Now he has almost all the clothes he needed, he's "complete". Also, I think that now I'll try not to buy another doll before the last I bought is complete too, to avoid frustration and enjoy what I already have. Another bug accomplishment : now and thanks to Daria Rejn from Vertales, I know how to make wiiiiigs ! And I'm really happy of that^^

    12. Great to hear all of these wonderful stories! I guess I'll add an accomplishment that I overlooked. People have spoken about buying and not buying dolls, but my biggest accomplishment doll wise was to sell a doll that I just didn't have a passion or drive for but was still emotionally attached to.
To let something go gives it a chance at new life and once I made that decision, it rid me of all that worry and guilt. I hope that he finds a great new home ^^

    13. I finally completed my fullset SOOM Topaz Honey Dew in 2014 after buying everything piece by piece, from her eyes, down to her jewelery. It was a very long and grueling two year work in progress ;-; But it just made me love her more!

    14. This may sound strange, but this was the first year I had more dolls coming in than going out. I've struggled with my collection and my stories for a very long time, but now I feel like I'm finally getting the dolls I really want and I'm therefore selling a whole lot less (whoops)! I also recently accomplished the first faceups I'm actually proud of and with about half my dolls being hybrids now I can honestly say that I'm no longer afraid of hybridising, which was terrifying to me when I first started trying :D

    15. I'm still pretty new to the hobby (started in september 2013), but since then I've really gotten a handle on doing nice faceups, amassing a surprising amount of dolls in a short time, and have gotten more involved in crafting! I'm very happy in this hobby~ :D

    16. It might seem not that big of an accomplishment but I convinced my parents to let me buy another doll.
They don't like my doll hobby and they don't like me spending that much money on dolls so for me it is a pretty big thing.
They still don't like the hobby very much but they seem more willing to accept it.

    17. I paid off my bronze Vesuvia grail doll at the beginning of the year. So far that is my biggest accomplishment, though there is one more doll I am hoping to get that might be just as big of an achievement for me.

    18. My biggest accomplishment was coming home, back to the doll hobby.

In 2012, I lost my job, fell into a huge black pit, and stopped with my dolls completely. Stopped shopping, stopped, sewing, stopped blogging, didn't even go on my favorite forums. For all of 2013, dolls were out of the picture.

2014, I poked my head back in. With a nice tax return, I got Amiga, my first SD and on-topic doll. It made me so happy! I started blogging again, hung out in the forums again, and sewed her tons of clothes! She has a bigger wardrobe than any other doll I've owned! (Aside from my army of Barbies when I was a kid.) They all coordinate. They're good quality. I also did her faceup myself. Only redid it once. I also re-homed 4 dolls that I just didn't want anymore. A good thing.

Part of me feels alive again. :dance

    19. Whew, what a lot of great accomplishments!
Me, I think the biggest was completing my first swap project. AND surviving the most intense sewing project I've tried for said swap.
Second to that, was taking the time this fall to get the record book information in order for my growing resin affliction. Having all the company & faceup information along with second hand purchase sources will be important in the long run. AND reminds me what I've already invested in the hobby so it made it easier to slow down on the shopping! X0
Totally agree with the folks who have celebrated making new friends in the hobby. That's always one of my favorite accomplishments for the year. :D

    20. I finally bought my first three dolls this year!!! And, I am no longer afraid that I am going to break them! I too will have to wait for 2015 for attempting faceups.
