Your choice of skin color?

Jun 28, 2012

    1. I have normal yellow, normal pink and soon will have a boy in white. So I have rather different skin tones. But as for tan, grey, red and green - sometimes I like to see it on someone else's characters, but I don't think that I will ever have one myself.

    2. I definitely prefer White Skin , I think it's so beautiful! But I currently have an even number of dolls with both NS and WS :)

    3. I prefer 'Normal Skin' shades, to own myself, whether yellow, pink, whatever. I have two white skin dolls, but I find it's a bit hard to photograph without looking like it's glowing. I also have a grey skin doll, which I really like. I think I would consider getting another grey skin. I love the look of tan skin dolls but I'm scared of buying one at the moment. XD

    4. Tan all the way! It's just sad that there aren't a lot of companies that offer that skin tone.
Besides that I really like normal pink, I'm not really into normal yellow. I will receive my first white skin in a few months.
Oh, and fantasy colors can be nice too. Especially 5StarDoll's red skin. :)

    5. With my first two dolls and perhaps in my current plans, I have them in white skin-- mainly because they're already planned characters that needs to be in white skin xD I'd like to see how normal skin fares though I think they just look lovely in photos, but I'm sticking with white regardless, since white can be easily manipulated with faceup materials in terms of color.

    6. I prefer tan and NS - though it really depends on the sculpt/doll himself. Some guys just look RIGHT in one certain resin color, and so I go with the one I'm drawn to.

I think I've got 9 Iplehouse dolls, all of whom are Tan or Realskin, because I think Iplehouse men's faces just look best in darker resin. While I admire their NS and peach-gold resin colors, I don't think I could ever order one who wasn't some shade of brown. <3 The bulk of my non-Iplehouse human characters are all NS, and in fact I think they're also all Volks, because their warm ivory skintone suits those characters best. I've only got 5 white dolls out of this crew, all of them eerie creatures who look best in white.

I've never painted a white-resin doll... I've painted NS and tan dolls and found them equally easy to manipulate the colors. In fact I think the tan guy might've been easier, because you can use a heavier hand & darker colors, while not having him turn out looking like he's wearing makeup.

    7. I like normal coloured skin in a variety of ranges, but I tend to lean more towards the paler spectrum. I would love to have a tan/more golden coloured doll one day, but I don't know how I would treat the face-up/body blushing :sweat It's the same for a white skin tone. Unless I have a clear vision of the outcome I want, blushing white resin would be torture for me.

    8. I love white skin, I'm not completely sure why thought. It's just looks so elegant.

    9. I personally do not have a favorite skin color. I love pretty much all skin colors to choose from! :) However, right now I've been lusting over tan. I love the way it looks! :D

    10. I like white, all my dolls are in white skin. I just think it's really pretty and a little different.

    11. Most of my dolls are normal skin, but with that said, they are also second-hand and much older, so they are a mellowed normal skin, which I absolutely love. I really super want tan though. I am actually very tan skinned (half Indian) so I would love to have a doll with the kind of skin I have for solidarity (lol) I also like the various tan hues that I have seen on the marketplace, so my goal is to someday have one tan-skinned doll. :)

    12. I would pick white skin, it's just so beautiful! white skin, pink cherry lips and a cat eyeliner :D this is my future bjd choice

    13. My dolls skin tones are natural, natural, natural and mint green ..uh?! :?

ETA - I actually think white can be rather lovely on certain dolls ...but I'd worry how that would translate to photography (with my limited skills) as I've heard they can often look overly washed out.

    14. I think white is my favorite, but I'm loving a lot of the tan and darker colors I've seen too. I kind of feel put off by 'normal' skin tones though? I don't know. I haven't really felt the desire to get one; most of my wants are white or tan colored.

    15. I really love white skin, especially with pink undertones.

    16. I am so in love with Iplehouse Light Brown resin that I think I'm going to end up with half of my collection being in that tone. Otherwise, I think I'd just go with Normal skin for everything.

    17. I prefer the normal skin tones mostly. I don't like white, white skin. I'm not a fan of darker tans ether. Though I do like Doll Leaves Wheat Skin Evan and I do not like the fairer skin version of him. Unfortunately, the wheat skin is limited edition, so much harder to find x_x;

    18. I like normal skin. White Skin just resemble me paper and although I love seeing pictures of tan dolls I don't think that I will ever choose a doll with that skin color for myself.

    19. I prefer Normal skin. Personally, I'm in this hobby because of how realistic BJDs can get, so I'm drawn to anything that resembles more like the skin tone on a human being; while I've seen a lot of beautiful white skinned dolls, a few of them have an odd papery look that I'm just not keen with xD

And I really wish I could find more tan dolls that were more "red" toned than "yellow/green" :sweat (Like Iplehouse's Light Brown)

    20. Mostly depends on character i have currently ws and blue skinned doll is on her way and my future boy will be grayskin mod, but in general i am huge fan of odd colors :aheartbea
All of my characters so far are from my husbands universe and he have such awesome races with odd hair and eyes and skin :fangirl: shame that other companies rarrely offer other odd colour than white and sometimes grays well luckily there is Resinsoul and their awesome versatility and customization possibilities :3
