Your choice of skin color?

Jun 28, 2012

    1. Normal skin, definitely!

    2. Normal Skin is definitely my favourite but I like tanned too.

    3. I buy my dolls with specific characters in mind that I would like to style them as. I recently bought Daphne from Doll Chateau. I love her deathly cold white skin, since I want her to be the embodiment of a willowy reclusive witch.

    4. I prefer normal skin, sometimes write skin. I lile peachgold by Iplehouse.

    5. I tend to lean towards more tan colored dolls. I stick to IH Realskin or Peachgold.

    6. I personally love tan, but Im not too fond of how fragile it is, and how some faceup artists refuse to paint unless it is already blank etc.

I would go for normal - for durability and easier resin matching :)

    7. I prefer Normal Skin. for some reason I end up always selling those dolls that I have with white skin, it's just too pale for me. I don't have any tan ones yet, but lightly tanned doll would be nice change to all my normal skin ones :D I do have one white skin doll atm (my favourite girl DZ Reiko) but she has yellowed enough so she is not too pale anymore.

    8. I usually pick either normal skin or tan skin. I have a white skinned doll. And will be getting another. But my preference is either normal or tan. I got a white doll to see how I like the color. But I seem to be sticking to my normal and tan. I don't think that I will ever get into the other colors like grey, red, or blue. But I am happy I gave white a try. :)

    9. My dolls are all normal skin, which looks more natural. But recently I've been attracted by a few white-skin dolls, which shows quite different beauty while making up and photographing. So maybe I'll consider getting one in the future. :P Tanned dolls are gorgeous, too. But they have not yet caught my eyes. Let's wait and see.

    10. I prefer white as skin color.. naturally white or as white as a paper.. or even grayish.. just my preference that I like that kind of pale color..

but then again :p skin color preference doesn't really matter when it comes to the doll's skin color that I ended up with.. my first doll is tan :D ..second is normal.. and I even thinking to get another tan doll x'3 ~ just lovely

    11. I don't really have a skin colour preference. I generally like all resin colours. To me, the colour resin I choose has more to do with the character than with whether or not I prefer it over other colours. In my resin family I have three tan dolls, a number of 'normal skin' ones, a sky blue and a green. The 'normal' skin types on the dolls that I have range from very pale, like Island Doll's milk white and ResinSoul's NS to a nice warm tone like the Elfdoll homme skin. I would like to add a dark tan doll at some point.

    12. Very pale is my favorite. Not white, just very pale.

    13. I don't know why, but I think a doll with a white skin looks a bit.. creepy. And because I'm not that fond of creepy dolls, I'm keeping it with normal or toned skin colours.

    14. Half of my dolls are a brown-tan, since that's the normal human skin color in the story their characters are from. It's definitely my favorite color too. <3

    15. I tend to pick (even if i dont have the dolls it would be my choice if I did) normal skin. I have no interest in the tan skins (might change if I saw it on the right doll/character) and I don't like the idea of deliberately getting a yellow since I almost feel 'conditioned' against 'yellowing resin'. Pink is okay as long as it's not TOO pink to start with before blushing. White is another color that only seems right if it is for a certain type/character doll like a fairy or non-human type. I've seen a few 'non' human with the blueish skin that I find oddly attractive O-o,

Seriously I think it all depends on the shade and the doll character what skin is right. For me normal is the most neutral for what I want my dolls to be.

    16. I tend to lean toward white skin. Most of my dolls are in white skin however I have noticed I seem to like Luts and Iplehouse Real skin brown. A lot. Usually I don't lean toward tan dolls but those....those I like.

    17. I always preferred normal skin... but I have always loved how unique tan dolls look, and in the past I almost ended up getting some. Then now again I'm pondering the idea of getting one of Luts new 'brown skinned' delfs. But we'll see what happens with that. ^^;

I was also never really fond of the white skinned ones though, but oddly enough, I now have one and she's one of my favourites. :D

    18. I love tan-skinned dolls, but I only own one at the moment (and another one is in the making). Where I cannot choose the tan skin option, I go with Normal Skin. I am not much of a fan of white-skinned dolls, with one exception: if I ever decide to bring home a Souldoll Liddell, she will be in WS, with the default face-up :)

    19. I like normal skin or really light tan (like Souldoll's sandy brown). Where it looks like a person just was outside all day every day. That and Iplehouse's skin colors, no matter which one, are all very gorgeous.

I don't like white though. That is the only color I don't like. I think it makes dolls look deathly pale and very very unnatural.

    20. Most of my dolls are in normal skin because of their characters. They're characters (and OCs) from Georgette Heyer books which are set in Regency London.

I do have another family of dolls that are fantasy dolls, and that's anything goes. My one fantasy doll has purple skin. I'd love to get tan, white, blue, you name it, since my other family doesn't really allow much for variation.

As for tan dolls, a lot of companies seem to be coming out with such gorgeous ones with gorgeous default faceups and it's hard to resist, but they just don't fit my Regency characters.
