Your choice of skin color?

Jun 28, 2012

    1. I mostly like natural tones. Maybe I'll own a white doll one day, but admittedly I find the color to be a touch intimidating.

    2. I really like the look of the white skin as it seems more versatile to me, in a way more 'doll-like'.

    3. I prefer normal. I feel it's the most "safe". I have a few white skinned ones and I like them, but whenever I order I always worry they will be too white and the faceup will be too vivid. I had a thing for tan for awhile as well, but I'm kind of picky on the kind of shade I like for that. Plus I worry about greening o_o I mean it's one thing for a doll to yellow, but to turn green?!

    4. For me, it all depends on the character. So far I have no tan dolls. Not because I don't like them or anything, they are just usually more expensive.

    5. Actually, I always choose skin tone between NS (yellow line) and WS. But this time I chose brown skin for my coming doll, SSDF Avalanche Romance ver. with face up because I had a feeling that Luts' face up was darker and it would looks a bit strange with NS (from their comparing photos).

    6. With so many pretty skin tones available for dolls, what is most common?

I know a lot of us have a variety of colors, so please choose the option that fits the highest number of your dolls, and tell me below what colors you have.

Personally, I currently have mostly yellow, followed by tan, then inbetween NS and tan (IslandDoll neutral beige, Iplehouse Peach Gold and Elfdoll Homme), then finally a tie for pink, white and brown.

EDIT: I tried to add a poll, but I failed. Sorry...Still would like to hear answers!

    7. I don't have many dolls yet, but three of the dolls at home are NS and one is tan. I am waiting for another of each at the moment. I may be a rarity in having a grand total of one WS doll on my wishlist.

    8. My most common skin tone for dolls is NS. (but if possible, I prefer NS with a bit yellow over pink :)) And next is WS, but not paper white one. I always order and adopt dolls in these skin tones. But my last one (SSDF), I ordered him with RS Brown because in their promotion photo looks quite cool. But I still don't know what he will look like in real. Have to wait a bit more 'till he arrives.

    9. I only have one doll at the moment with 2 more on order. All of them are in white.

I just think it's a good colour to cover with whatever colour you choose and then that colour will be much more vibrant etc.

    10. I order only "normal pink" dolls. I don't like white and yellow skintone and i hate tan skin.

    11. I have two dolls that are white skin tone, one of those being a paper white skin tone and the other is a lesser white but still pretty pale. I also have a normal yellow doll and a normal yellow floating head. I have a tiny normal pink doll and two normal pink floating heads and a normal pink body on the way.

    12. A pinkish Normal Skin, under whatever name that is for various companies. I also have one white and one tan doll, planning one more in WS and one more in NS.

    13. The whitest it can go. I guess because it makes them look pure and innocent.

    14. Normal skin, tan skin is ... beautiful but, I don't know if i'd love seeing seamless lines :c

    15. I think I like normal skin, when I see all the problems with white skin, I'm nervous . I often hear that the skin becomes yellow more easily.
Also, I like men a little tan.

    16. White skin and normal skin for me, though I did order a white skin and it was waaay more white-white than I had planned and now I'm unsure of how to style it :XD: fantasy colors like resinsoul's also intrigue me, but again I'm not sure how I would work with them.

    17. Just like with actual people,I think all of the tones are lovely:)

I purchased my first doll in WS because I preferred it over the Leeke "Basic" skin resin.
As for my incoming doll and the other two on my wish list, they will be in WS as well because that's what their characters call for.

Though I find the greening of tan resin to be really off putting,I will without a doubt eventually purchase a tan (most likely Bambicrony) SD sized girl to be my mini me,I could really see myself loving such a doll...
I like to wear a lot of floral dresses mainly with pink backgrounds and I'll of course dress her the same way,I really like the way those colors pop on darker skin.

    18. I like the normal pinkish, white, and light tan colors.

But I wish to collect dolls of various colors to reflect characters in a story I have who are of various races and backgrounds. So for the most part, I plan to stick to the natural skin colors.

    19. Normal Pink or White Skin :D

    20. Hmn I like it when they have a pale skin but not vampire pale just erm.. XD between soft pink and white?? guess thats about normal skin colour to soft pink.. it really depends on the company XD
      ^ I do have a tan doll though ^-^
