Your choice of skin color?

Jun 28, 2012

    1. I very much prefer the "natural" skin tones for the majority of my dolls. Tans have to be SUPER specific for me. Like, I personally don't care for FL tan, but I LOVELOVELOVE Luts Real Skin Light Tan.

For the most part I go for "natural", "pink", "butter", or some iteration of skins such as those.

    2. I prefer normal skintones the most, mostly because I feel like they age the least noticeably. I'd be heartbroken if I got a certain skintone and after a year or so it discolours really noticeably.

    3. I think my favorite skin color would have to be Iplehouse's "Peach Gold", but since it costs extra, I typically like to stick with the "normal" or "normal yellow" skin tones. Most of my original characters have that kind of skin color ^ ^

    4. All of my dolls have "normal" skin but I'd like a tan doll one day.

    5. I've liked the normal skin pink so far. My skin has a yellow undertone that makes a lot of colors look crazy on me, so I avoid yellows. But now, I really want a tan doll. Maybe more than one, lol.

    6. I think I prefer white to light tan dolls, I love Iplehouse's real skin the best for tan colors. 'Nuff said! I hope to have an Iple one day :aheartbea

    7. I like either normal skin or white skin even tan skin, but now prefer white skin.

    8. I just get a tan minifee Chloe, and wow *_* I love her. There is some default but I love the skin colour. But I prefer the normal skin...

    9. i enjoy skin tones that fit the ivory/vanilla tones and milky/chestnut colors.

    10. I would really like to get some darker skin tones- but after reading that the darker toned resins are less stable and have more drastic color changes, I generally get NS color.

I do however have one dark grey Pipos Cheshire, and one dark brown Sybarite, and one Jamiedoll resin, hopefully they keep their color- I treat them very carefully, not handling them with my bare hands and keeping them out of the sun. Hopefully that will be enough!

    11. I prefer white. I got the whitest they had for my Luts Carmine (still waiting) and I think I did it because my husband is pretty pale. Not sure why that played into it. I haven't see any really tan dolls that I've been interested in. I don't know if I don't like the way they color them or what it is exactly. If you are tan, you aren't necessarily tan all over. My face is lighter than the rest of my body. So it isn't realistic to me. Maybe I just haven't seen a tan or darker skin doll that I like?

Edit: I forgot about the issues with maintaining them. Yeah, that would deter me too. It would have to be a pretty awesome doll. lol. Plus, I don't think they sand the seam lines?

Edit again: And I don't know all the variations of "white" they have. lol. I really just pick dolls I like not so much because of the color. Carmine was the only one where I had a choice in picking. :3

    12. I actually prefer tan skin most of the time. I love Lati Yellows but their natural skin color is too white for my liking. Their tan skin is gorgeous though. I have normal skin and tan skin Minifees. I think I prefer the tan skin but Fairyland's normal skin is very nice. I can't get into white skinned dolls. Maybe they will grow on me one day...

    13. I am in love with tan skin!! But I also like normal skin. I don't see myself ever having a white skin doll thouh. But that is probably because I am so in love with tan skin and that is a big difference in color. :3

    14. i have mostly normal skin for most of my dolls. but i do have both tan and white dolls too. For me it depends on the sculpt. for example i have a minifee mio in tan skin and love her in that color but hate her in any other skin color same with my littlefee pong pong v2. and i have a white skin soom shale and normal skin shale but like the white better.

    15. As a lot of you, my favorites skins colors are naturals, mostly normal and tan ... it depends of the white.
But I have to admit that I like grey skins too ~

    16. All of my dolls have ''Normal'' skin tones! I don't like overly pale dolls and the ''Normal'' skin is most common. I pine for a tan doll (specifically a BF baked doll) or an Iplehouse in Real Skin, though! They're the next two on my wishlist.

    17. It actually always depends on the character I have in mind for the doll. My DZ Hid for example is normal pink because he was supposed to have a more lively skin color compared to his brother who, once I've the money, will be ordered in white skin.
Also it very much depends on pictures I have seen, owner pictures as well as company pictures. I am especially sceptical with tan skin. On company pictures it often looks very nice but when I see box opening videos or owner pictures it often doesn't look that appealing anymore. =/ The yellow skin color some companies have also is something I am quite critical with. It might look good on the pictures but I am scared it might look weird in person.
So I guess I'll mostly go with white and normal pink skin throughout the years. Though I am somehow tempted to at least once try a tan skin doll, but I don't know yet which one I would want...

    18. I haven't bought my first doll yet, but it will be one with normal skin :)

    19. Normal, I love normal skin. I dont like tan that much. I usually dont get white because I am afraid that it can yellow faster.

    20. I used to prefer normal skin. I thought most tanned dolls were either too dark or too orangish, but then I saw Fairyland's tan skin and fell completely in love. My first doll will definitely be a tan, but I still like NS a lot. And as others have mentioned, it also depends on the character.
