Your choice of skin color?

Jun 28, 2012

    1. I prefer white skin but I have seen many tan skin dolls I really love too (iplehouse)

    2. Not that I've been here a long time but I find that I'm trying to get one of each of the bigger dolls, Real Skin, Grey Skin and normal Skinned (white too) but I'm an avid lover of Grey skin and I wouldnt mind to get one in grey skin from Iplehouse if the opportunity ever came about. I have a puki cupid in white skin but I think I'm going to indulge in this a bit bigger (Dollshe Hound if they're still doing orders - not sure).

    3. it depends on the doll, I don't really have a preference for any particular skintone
my first BJD is pureskin (normal skintone) but I'd love to get her a twin in sunlight (tan) someday
I'm usually not to fond of white skin dolls (no offense to those who love them) but there have been a few that I really love

    4. Dolls are individuals. The skin tone must fits to the character of the doll.
But I prefer normal skin colours, too <3 Maybe, one day I want an elf in tan ^^
      In my mind white skin isn´t so nice ^^;

    5. Tan is my favourite far and away- if there's an option for tan or brown resin, and it looks nice and goes with the doll's features, I'm all for it. I have mostly normal toned dolls at the moment, as having a basic option for brown resin is a pretty new phenom- when I started, not one single company I was interested in offered a basic brown option. Now, nearly everyone does- I even get cranky when I don't see a company offer it because it's like "I'm not getting everything here!?" LOL. I'm obsessed with brown dollies! I love Iple's real skin, and I've found that all the dolls I'd normally get in NS, look just that much better in RS. However, their ebony tone is the most beautiful shade of brown I've ever seen any company produce ever- it almost looks like living skin! YES! Other than that, if I can't get a doll in brown, or Real Skin, then I'll go for any variety of NS. I'm afraid of white-skinned dolls- I find them really scary to work with as the resin shows every mark/bit of pastel like it's in technicolour! I worry that any face-up I gave one would make it look clownish unless I used barely any pastel =__=;;; I also don't like fantasy colours except for very specific circumstances.

    6. I guess when I was researching BJDs years ago, they mostly only came is very pale skin tones. I prefer tan skin tones because I have tan skin. The really dark colored dolls are getting amazing too! For me, the white and other super pale shades are a bit strange, but I could see it if the character needed it to be

    7. I don't have characters for my dolls, but I tend to pick a skintone that I feel complements what I have in mind for the sculpt. I picked paleskin for my Saint because I wanted him to have dark hair but a pale, gaunt complexion, but I like my Rosy with a peachy pink healthy look; I'm also obsessed with Resinsoul Song in coffee/light tan. I'm not very fond of yellowish toned white skin, though, so I'd probably opt for normal skin in that case.

    8. Any skin colour for me, as long as it fits the character I have in mind for the doll or the features of the doll!

    9. xD I think i'll go ahead and say first that I have characters for my dolls planned out before I get them, so I just look for the right skin tone for the character, like many do.

But that being said, of course sometimes I do see dolls that I want that I wouldn't have already made characters for, and usually they are either white skin or deep chocolate color. I don't know why, I guess that is kind of opposite, but I just really adore these two in particular over other colors if the option is available.

...That and deep red. Oh my goodness when I see dolls in deep red I adore them! Soom Tridy and Trachy are excellent examples. @_@

    10. I don't know about the French Resin, I have never experienced it! I am new to dolls, completely, but from what I can tell about my taste, I think I would head towards the paler skins too! Normal pink and white, I am not sure about yellow though. I think whats so appealing about the white skin is that its a bit like a blank canvas and you can really do anything with it! Also, if your going for something a bit more surreal, white would be ideal. Whereas normal pink and yellow and any kinds of tan or real skin would be more realistic! But this is just what I think anyways!
      :)

    11. dolls come in red resin???

    12. Hm... if we're going by majority, then default Normal Skin, but... I don't know. I'm really trying to decide on which skin tones I'll go with in future-- since I'm planning out a 'family' of Iple dolls, it's a lot of options! I love my white boy (he is just so beautifully paper-white!), and I have long been intrigued by but never purchased tan dolls. So my first lady could be white or normal, and her fella could be... peach gold? Special real?

(Then when you add in the fantasy colours that some companies do... only in the wildest reaches of my wishlist, but OH MAN)

I might be the kind of person who can't choose one favourite...

    13. I tend to make the character first without planning for the doll, so it really depends, doesn't it ? I love dark grey dolls, so go Resinsoul ;)

    14. Normal skin or tan (like all of iplehouse's choices or something), or some were inbetween I have white skin dolls. I don't mind it. But I rather have something other then white. To pale for my taste and gets dirty to easily. MY white skin dolls get a lot more dirty then my Normal skin color ones. And I handle all of them the same.

    15. Since my dolls' characters live in a modern time world and they are all humans, I'm not too fond of fantasy colors for them. I prefer normal skin and sometimes tan.

    16. I usually get the yellow option - since they will yellow anyway. I've got one white skinned doll, several normal skin, & a few tan ones (they are lovely). I've got an IH peach gold Mari on the way as well :D

    17. Given my druthers, I will pick white skin for a doll. My skin is very pale, but white also fits the motif of Victorian England dolls best. That said, I do have a couple normal skin dolls as well; but I would not actively choose tan, grey, or other skin colour.

    18. As of now, I prefer the Natural skin- But, it does depend on the character for me! :)

    19. I like normal/pale skin dolls best since they're so versatile. I also have multiple white skin dolls planned and some other fantasy colours planned. I must admit though that I'm really not a fan of tan skin dolls, I'm not sure why other than that they don't fit my characters,
