Your choice of skin color?

Jun 28, 2012

    1. Normal pink and white skin are the only types i have ever bought, but if i had a fantasy character in mind then i would definitely look at other colours!

    2. i tend to like dolls closer to my own skin colour. most of the dolls i want are normal/ light tan coloured.

    3. My favorite skin tones right now are Natural skin and Tan I like Beauty whit too but I am afraid of photography part of it lol

    4. I'm really into tan skin. I think it's mostly because I have a lot of characters that have tan skin (which also reflects my personal preference in men, I suppose XD).
I'm still wainting for my first doll - who has tan skin :> - but I think I'll have one or the other with lighter skin in the future, too.

    5. Pink&white, but not paper white. I think I can't handle tan skin tone. But it's adorable! XD
One of IPlehouse's peach golden girls is my next target~

    6. I love a LOT of different resin colors.

I mostly have WHITE, then GREY, then TAN, then NORMAL, then BLUE, and one RED and one PINK. :D

The whites are for my elves and vampires and generally pale, ethereal, paranormal-fantasy types. And one is a white-furred anthro.

Grey are similar--fantasy and animal types.

Normal and tans are more human, but there are some fantasy and animals, too!

My dolls definitely trend towards fantasy, so the less "normal' colors work for me.

    7. My two dolls are apricot and chocolate. Not sure if I have a preference in skin tone.

    8. I tend to buy dolls with lighter skin colors, but I wouldn't mind different ones :)

    9. Oh man do I love tan. Perhaps it's the extra contrast that I like. I also love pink tones in NS. I am not a fan of yellow or grey at all. For the most part I don't like white, but I'll make an exception for a few sculpts.

So far my favorite tan is Bambicrony...tan with pink tones, it's like it was made for me!:D

    10. I've owned normal, white, tan and gray dolls. My favorite color is normal, followed by tan and gray. For some reason, white doesn't work for me.

    11. I really like the normal and white, though right now I find myself pining for a certain tan doll. Sadly, out of budget, but I'll probably get some tan dolls eventually. For now, though, I'm sticking with normal and white skin~

    12. I only have one white skin doll - I prefer natural skin tones. I've got several butter skinned dolls - in fact that's probably the majority - because most of my characters are part oriental not to mention I figure they are going to yellow anyway LOL I have some tanned skin ones which I like but not enough to pay extra for unless absolutely necessary for the character. I just got an Iplehouse Peach Gold Mari & ALL my IH dolls are gonna be Peach Gold from now on LOL Sooooo beautiful!

    13. I favour purple skin, but it's rarely offered.

Otherwise, I like non-translucent colours; white is a huge preference, as is tan. I love grey and other fantasy colours. I dislike most normal skins. I think they look too orange.

    14. My first BJD was Volks pureskin, so I tend to go for normal resins similar to that. But I do have four white dolls and two tan dolls (mostly DollZone). Generally in normal resin I prefer colors toward the yellow side. I also have a few variations on normal resin, like ElfDoll homme, and one DollZone normal resin who is somewhere between pink and yellow.

For tans, I really like the look of Volks sunlight and Dollzone. DZ doesn't look too orange or brick red, and seems very stable. One of my guys is going on six years old and still looks great.

I've never had a lot of interest in colors other than normal, white and tan, because my characters are nearly all human, with a few elves thrown in.

    15. I love tan. I think tan and dark skin looks beautiful. It's also easier to photograph. My paler dolls sometimes look really washed out with my incompetent photography skills.

The only skintone I dislike entirely is paper white. Ivory white looks alright, but paper white drives me crazy when face-upping.

    16. I used to only buy NS dolls because I feared different skin tones would look odd next to each other, but I have gladly branched out since then. Now I have had WS, Tan, NS and Violet skin, and I'm still waiting for Mint and Pink dolls to arrive. (o: Since I've had the chance to own more dolls, I've learned that I absolutely love different colour skins for my crew. The variety it brings to my family is great! In the future, I'd love to own a Grey doll. Out of all the resins I've had, Normal Pink skin is probably my favorite. I just love the colour it mellows into as it gets older. Normal Yellow is my least favorite, but that's just my own personal preference when it comes to owning a doll. I try to avoid it, if the option is given.

    17. I started out in normal, but now I have white skin too. The only odd skin color is the PPD mermaid tail in pink. I am wanting a tan though.

    18. I prefer normal, especially normal-pink. I'm starting to really like white too--not the paper white but when it's a very light normal. I do like tan but so far it's been hit and miss whether I like it in person or not, so I tend to avoid it unless I really feel like I've seen some good owner pics. I'm not likely to get any other colors than ones that mimic natural skin tones.

    19. My preference is really dark skin; dark chocolate-ish. It's only a shame there're so few companies offering that skin colour, and also that I don't really like most of the dolls of one of the companies actually offering it (Iplehouse; I can't get used to the extremely symmetrical faces of 3D modeling. It just looks so off to me, because I notice the unevenness in any human's face, and too much symmetry therefore puts me off. It makes the dolls less realistic than the more anime-ish ones, in my opinion).
Otherwise, I like suntan, and also darker normal skin colours, but I'm not much fond of white. I do like variation though, so I try to collect dolls in all different skin colours.

    20. I like white or fantasy colored dolls, especially if it's a purple/blue color. My next doll I want, I want it to be Lilac.
