Your choice of skin color?

Jun 28, 2012

    1. Variety! I love owning as many different skin colours as possible, so I'm always excited by dolls in new colours I don't already own. Currently I get most of my dolls from one company (Soom), but I'm lucky that they produce dolls in quite a few different colours.

I think overall my favourites are tans and whites, though. 'Normal skin' doesn't appeal to me much for some reason (although I do still love the characters I have who are NS, of course). I enjoy fantasy colours, but don't own too many (just black, grey and lilac), becauseI want most of my characters to be mostly human, so I just can't justify too many blue/green/pink/etc dolls in my collection.

    2. I actually don't like white skin that much... The dolls always seem to look very washed out in photos...

Gray skin is beautiful though :aheartbea I also love Tan and Normal ^^

    3. I love Iplehouse's Peach Gold Skin or a light pink color. I usually love these colors because the way they are given body blush.

    4. Oh goodness... I love the color of nicely aged mellow resin that doesn't make a banana or lemon colored hue, but I love Iplehouse Peach gold, but I also like real skin, but I also like the yellowing of white resin, though, a company with soft tannish ivory shade of resin, that would be my favorite.

    5. I've found I've liked every colour I've seen so far - with the only exception being the unnatural pink skintone BBB/RS and Island Doll offer - not Normal Pink, just actual pink - but then again I don't like that colour...

    6. I don't really have a preference, but I would love to have a doll with one of the darker iplehouse shades (especially ebony)...unfortunately they're a bit too expensive for me at the moment.
My wee BBB elfkin is lilac, and I love the shade to bits, it really suits her "winter elf" character too.

    7. resins normal/white, i have a like for lolita/Victorian style clothes and it suits better, especially for resins, but not ghostly white otherwise it looks like they are sick or dead, lol

    8. Besides having a preference for colours that can be found on real human beings, I don't have any particular favourite. I have dolls from very pale through to a mid-brown in my collection at the moment, and I'm going to add a dark brown doll or two eventually. I pick the colour either based on the character I have in mind for them, or simply based on which colour suits the sculpt best.

    9. I like homme. Never had a tan or WS. If there's no homme option, I go for NS

    10. I really like all the skin tones.
I like very pale skinned dolls but then sometimes I feel the white is too white.
It really depends on the company because some of the normal skin is too yellow for my taste.
Generally the darker skin tones are all nice.

    11. I prefer normal skin tone.

    12. I love the paper white skin but the next doll I'm getting will be in normal skin or tan... not sure yet, I was going to get them all in white skin but I would like to have a nice variety :D

    13. I have dolls with real IH and normal skin. I think that this tones looks realistic for dolls
But my dream is a doll (girl) in blue skin like Quartz from soom and f girl in peach gold IH.

    14. I like tan skinned dolls. They seem to have a glow.

    15. I like tan and normal skin most^^ Tan because it is so organic, and ns because it is so versatile. I love looking at other people's pale/white skin dolls- I'm just no good at photographing them myself, so don't own any :sweat

    16. If I really had to choose, it would be iplehouse's peach gold skin color! It's really pretty and very warm looking. :)

    17. I liked normal skin because it looks realistic. The sun-kissed look does that too so I like it but I didn't know when I first saw the pics of the BJDs that those skins existed.

    18. Im very partial to like a very pale almost snow white, i like how it has a creepy feel to it but i have plans for dolls with dark skin too.

    19. I really love yellow-y normal skin. Pink offsets me a little, and I've never been a big fan of tan, despite how popular it seems to be these days.

Ebonies are very nice too, but probably not for me. I can easily appreciate others' though!

    20. So far I've picked a different one for each doll... Tan, then 'normal/yellow', then 'pink'.. The last two are still a variation on a fair, almost white skintone... Come this summer, I'll probably have a dark tan and an actual white skinned doll. Those are the two other main dolls I want to make.... the ones I'd consider making once my crew of must-haves is complete are all going to be tan or normal.
