Your choice of skin color?

Jun 28, 2012

    1. I like the almost snow white skin, but more on the pink side instead of yellow, like how LittleMonica's white skin is. :aheartbea
But I can't muster up the courage to get a white skin doll; so I like Normal Yellow, like FairyLand's normal skin. :)

    2. I really like white skin, but in the last time it was mostly to white for my likings. Most of my boys have the old kind of whiteskin it looks much better over the year I have them.

    3. I used to prefer white skin and to some degree, I still do. A doll that looks stunning in white skin usually is the first to catch my eye. However, I've found that it varies from doll to doll. Some dolls I like better in normal skin, some look better in tan.

    4. Depends on the doll. I tend to like boys in tan, and girls in normal or pink. I like certain companies white, but not all, so it really depends :3

    5. Almost all of my dolls are white skin (one of them isn't, but he's off topic here). I don't really know why. I think it's just the default colour that most pictures of the dolls are in, and I've seen how a white skin ages now. I think I'd be paranoid if I had a tan doll or some other special colour that it was going to fade or get ruined.

    6. I have two RS light tan dolls (my favourite resin colour so far), two DIM normal skin dolls (the one would've been NS by choice and honestly she's meant to be ill-looking so the NS works, but I wished they offered a tan because it'd suit the other better and I'm trying to blush her a little more tanned and it's not working u_u), a DS normal skin (I prefer the yellow tones of this NS to the pink tones of the DIM NS), and a white resin DZ on the way (though he paints himself white, a little like a geisha.)

I really want more tan dolls, like a LOT, I prefer tans, but because not that many companies offer tans I like with sculpts I like, I generally love from a distance. I love iplehouse real skin, but there isn't a sculpt I like enough in MSD size to buy. I love Supia and Limhwa dolls but I find their tans too orange and unrealistic to actually make a purchase.

If RS release more male MSD sculpts I want a dark tan RS.

      Tans please, tans tans tans!

    7. Tam. Tan dolls look so cheery and glowing

    8. I only have two dolls right now, one is a dreaming doll normal skin, and the other is Iplehouse's Peach gold skin.

I love both of them, but especially love the glow of the peach gold skin.

The two dolls i'm waiting from are both normal skin from dreaming doll as well.

    9. I really dislike white skinned dolls... I would prefer to have my dolls all different skin tones, except white. It looks too pale and unnatural in my opinion. :p

    10. I have white and tan dolls, and everything in between. I have no preference in skin tones, but sometimes I find that certain molds look particularly striking in one tone. In general though, unless I specifically have a skin tone in mind, or only have one choice, I tend to go for normal or tan.

    11. depends on the character or the sculpt for me, 4 out of 7 of my dolls a normal skin. 2 being white skin and 1 incoming being tan. i want to have a variety but don't think i could go beyond tan...green? blue?...no.

    12. It depends on the doll, it depends on the character, and it depends on the style, for sure. There's no one skin colour I prefer over the others, it just depends on what fits well and what doesn't. I love all of them!

    13. Most of the dolls I have ordered are NS, but one is a tan doll. I've ordered NS dolls because it's the only tone offered or I think it looks best on the sculpt. But I can only judge by photos at this point. I'm still new to the hobby and haven't seen all the different colours in person yet. I just have one guy at home now and he is NS environmental resin and I love the look. Like a lot of others, I'd definately get other colours if I thought it would enhance the doll/character etc.

    14. I like NS or normal skinned dolls the most. It's nothing personal over the other skin tones out there. It just suits my characters best. Although I would like to own another white skinned (WS) doll at some point in the future.

    15. I like normal skin, but I think my next doll will be tan or light tan. I'm not really into owning dolls with fantasy coloured skin or incredibly white skin, but I do like to admire them.

    16. I like normal :) Just because my skin colour isn't white or too tanned and I think I relate to it more. Well actually I'm a bit tanned, but I would like to be more white haha

    17. I don't really have a preferred skin color. My only doll is a Dreamingdoll normal skin, and I ordered a normal skin Soom doll in December. But I also just ordered a Cream White Soom doll, and other characters I want dolls for are going to be white skin and bronze skin (if I can find one secondhand in bronze) respectively. I might even order a grey skin doll if I still want him when I have obtained the others I am currently saving for. I can say with more accuracy what I do not like in resin color. I don't like the deep brown (ebony?) resin tones that I see at doll meets. I have yet to see a doll in dark brown resin that I liked. I'm not sure whether it is the texture of it, or the color, but it just doesn't seem as lifelike as even some of the fantasy colored resins I have seen.

(names of doll companies mentioned because I know that some companies' normal skins are different)

    18. I don't think one should need to make one single preferential choice since there are so many glorious and simply scrumptious skin choices to choose from...especially if you're a Mad-About-Iple-Iplefan-Iplehead!!! I have them in all their colours except for white and ebony(YET!). My favourite is totally Special real skin. It's an amazingly versatile tone that with practically any faceup tone and wig colour combination, your doll has the choice of being almost any ethnicity possible. Peach Gold is also really nice and is kind of like my version of "normal skin"! I have a BID in normal skin and she is already so pale that I wouldn't dare order a doll in white(again YET!).
I just got my first Light Brown Iple and she is gorgeous. The quality and feel of Iple's resin is just so exquisite as well, it makes holding and playing with your doll so wonderful. I was expecting her to be really too dark and was nervous about ordering LB instead of Real skin but I am glad she turned out simply perfect!
That said my Luts TDF Louis is in white and he is lovely too. My pre owned Narae is supposed to be normal resin and she has yellowed evenly so much so she is the same colour as my real skinned Iples!
So, to answer your question, I couldn't pick just ONE colour! But if I had to, then Iple's Special Real Skin.

    19. If I could afford it, most of my dolls would be tan. The bulk of my resin are OC of mine which represent themes, concepts and ideas from my Mexican Heritage. Since not all companies make tan and I can't afford it all the time, I make due with NS and for my death goddess (WS).

    20. I love normal yellow, IMO looks more caucasion in my photos. Everytime I see a tan doll tho I drool a bit! Tan just looks so good!
