1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Your Dolls in Your Wedding??

Sep 26, 2007

    1. My fiancee also collects dolls and we both want a little section in our wedding to be for our dolls. Everyone both of us know knows we love them. [My Maid Of Honor is actually going to be holding Audrie durint the ceremony. She is going to have a matching bridesmaid dress. ^^; But after the ceremony, we are dropping them off someplace safe. I don't wanna risk hurting them during the reception. ^^ Hurray for planned plans!

    2. I've looked at this thread, but haven't really thought about it till now. I'm in college, so it'll be a while for me, but dolls are an important hobby to me, so I'd want them there. I want that sort of 'perfect' wedding, but also a nerd wedding too. Someone suggested the dolls at the bridal shower, or maybe the gift opening as there are less people and less chance of damage or having to watch over them. I think I'd like my Abadon in a matchign tux and an SD girl(DOT Shall) with a replica of my dress standing on a table beside the guestbook or something. :) But as for the actual wedding, I think Puki cake toppers are a really awesome idea! ^^

    3. I think it's a cute idea to include them as decoration. But my dolls would probably be all beat up by the time I get married... :/

    4. I was interested in including my dolls, but my husband doesn't really approve of the hobby, and furthermore, didn't even approve of including anything a little more modern that would "confuse old people." (his words) Like cupcake trees instead of a traditional wedding cake, or my having a man and maid of honor... :sigh

    5. I'm buying/commissioning/making clothing for ALL of my dolls when I get married!

    6. i'll probably get my doll before my wedding (june 25th yay=)
but no way im bringing it with me lol.

    7. I got married in June 2007. Me and all my bridesmaids all collect BJDs and two of them [Amidoji and Anjelchan] and I had them at the wedding/reception; not in the wedding, just at it. We set the dolls up on the table for the Presents and no one bothered them at all. The only young children were the flower girl and ring boy and they were a close friend's children and already knew the dolls were delicate and they had to ask before they touched. There was no alcohol at my wedding.

Yes, my mother did think I was being childish and immature by wanting the dolls there {among other things at my wedding; she at one point told me that what I wanted for my wedding sounded like a 5 year old's birthday party because it was far from traditional}, but they are more than dolls to me and my best friends and so it only made sense to us. My husband thought it was a bit odd but that was it. He knew I was a bit of a nut already

I didn't have a hugely traditional wedding either, though. It was quite casual, outside, and deffinitely MY wedding.

Korrin I had a cup cake tree at my wedding! it was so awesome, I'm sorry your man wasn't very open minded :(

    8. my best friend is getting married this sunday, and despite her, myself and the other 3 bridesmaids collecting BJD's, none of us even thought of bringing the dolls or mentioned it lol! I think personally, it's a bit of a naff idea. If someone wants to do it- so be it- it's your big day. To me, I don't think it is something I would want to do. And, as someone said before, there is so much going on and you're so busy, I wouldn't want to worry about them. I didn't bring my dolls to my wedding, although I think I only had one back then.

    9. That sounds kind of cute actually...

    10. When I get married, I will have my dolls with me for sure. I only have one at the moment, but by the time I get married I'm sure I will have a family growing. My boyfriend and I treat my current doll like a daughter, we love her dearly and protect her. My parents didn't accept her very well at first, but they have come to like and see her like I do. They even refer to her as "my daughter" now. I will probably want to take some professional photos with my doll(s) in wedding attire, as well as have pictures of them solo in wedding and bridesmaids attire.
