1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Your last / final doll

Jun 7, 2013

    1. I only wish I could get to the point that I could say "just one more". I've tracked down all my grail dolls and am not tempted very often any more to buy new ones, but I know it will happen sooner or later as long as dolls are being made.

    2. Hmmm, I don't have any yet but I know I only want two. I gawk at others dolls but not enough to sway me to get the sculpt.

    3. I just have three more I want to finish off and then I'm done.

    4. I can't seem to finish my collection with anything, really. I keep adding more. (I'm just not good at 'family planning' I think!)

So I suppose if I do quit, I'll just quit after one among equals (since I like all my dolls and don't find any particular doll more special than the others).

    5. I am not sure if I will ever finish, but I will be happy once my family is complete.
I just need: MNF Chloe, MNF Kyle and PKF Flora

    6. My resolution is to keep my collection small, to spoil a lot every one of my dolls sewing a lot for them. Actually, I have on my wishlist three dolls, and the last is a Doll Chateau Douglas. Not because he is particularly pricey or anything, (no one in my wishlist is particularly expensive, BJD-wise) but because is the "stranger" doll and I want to be really sure before ordering him. But I don't know If I will keep my resolution. I'm already tempted to shell more characters, and on the other hand I cannot know that will happen in the next years, and maybe I'll have to stop even before getting the three dolls I already want...

    7. Hmm... I think I'd probably end my collection with an Iplehouse Carina or a Minifee Chloe. I really want to have that one doll in my collection that's the ultimate girly girl, and I think Chloe would fit that role perfectly, but I'm not sure if that's still something I'd do unless I actually do decide to stop collecting

    8. Most likely Rin, my Crobidoll Tei right now since I've wanted him since joining the hobby xP I don't think anything I would could potentially replace him and I'd never forgive myself for not getting him otherwise, so....

    9. Although I too would like to eventually go out with a bang and the purchase of a fancy and expensive doll, I wouldn't want to back myself into a corner by setting my eyes on a certain one to be 'the last'. I don't just buy a doll and put it on a shelf. There is ongoing change in their styling for as long as I have them, as I try to perfect their look and my own tastes change over time, so this isn't really a straight and linear attainment-based hobby for me that could have a finish line. To my mind, the dolls are the tools of my hobby just as much as the goals.

The two dolls I want to purchase next came into existence because of a change in the storyline, but two years ago I never would have thought I'd be looking to save for my fourth and fifth dolls. You never know what is going to come down the line and catch your attention. You never know if you might get a little bored with a particular doll and then have new inspiration for him that requires a friend/companion. Moderation is good of course, but don't limit yourself creatively. :)

    10. Once again, after resisting so many temptations, I am on the brink of weakening....

    11. If I was really deciding to get my very last doll it would be a male Soom Dia. He is so stunning and my secret grail doll. But I don't collect dolls taller than MSD size so I will never get him, he would never have any other dolls in his size around him. But if I was really to stop adding new dolls to my collection I would get him :)

    12. My last two Soom boys (Indy-male Dia) & Darien (SG Sabik) are my two most important OCs. I even sold a couple of smaller dolls and floating heads to pay for them and their custom faceups. I have no other dolls on my wishlist now. Who knows maybe in the future but for now my doll family is complete at 10. I just want to concentrate on getting more clothing for them and getting more into the photography side of things:)

    13. I kinda am finished. A grail is coming home. A tan Feeple60 (Delf) El. I do have a handful on the wishlist but honestly? No names for them. I got freaking 90 already!

Nothing really grabs me. A PKF El would, but that's to go with my Shiwoo. I like Els with Shiwoos. Hadn't done a Minifee El to go with my MNF Shiwoo elf but that's ok.

But nothing really grabs me and says BUY ME! (Also helps my hours were cut and I don't have much money!)

    14. I think I'm done now I have my LittleFee PongPong. I've wanted this doll since it was first released and now I have one I've relaxed a bit. I don't have any dolls on the wishlist, just plenty I like to look at that belong to other people

    15. My collection always feels "complete" after the arrival of each new doll, I guess because I collect so slowly and only focus on buying dolls that I've wanted for years and years. There are still about a dozen dolls I plan to buy in the future, and my wishlist is still growing- very gradually, but I don't think it'll ever stop!

There are always new dolls being released, new developments being made, and new styles proliferating. Even old, boring sculpts can become so appealing when artists customize them in new ways. As long as companies keep producing them and the hobby keeps going, it feels like I won't ever stop accumulating dolls. Until I run out of practical living space, I guess, but I acquire them so slowly that that probably won't happen. :P

    16. My collection grew out of control so I'm trying to downsize and keep my purchases to minimum. Even though there are a lot of dolls out there that I love, I doubt I will end up buying all. I think the day I finally acquire a Volks Shinku would be the day I stop collecting. Though that's not very likely to happen anytime soon without costing me an arm and a leg so... I guess I'll just keep collecting. Haha. xD

    17. Blossom Doll Hyacinth head on a Doll Chateu adult male body. I'll probably buy more dolls in the future when I have better finances and a bigger space to put them in, but for a few years I need to just pay attention to the resin and vinyl family of 7 that I've already got :)

    18. I don't think I'll ever say "this is THE last one". I change, my stories and doll-characters change. I'll just get to the satisfying stage of having all the dolls I want for my stories... but still keep an eye open for new ones, and let my stories develop and morph my characters.

    19. I don't think there's such thing as a "last" doll. As long as I'm interested in these (or other) dolls, I will keep buying them. I don't want a big collection but I will part with one to get another one I like more... or make room for her!

    20. A year or so ago I decided that I had all the dolls I wanted or needed and that my collection was complete despite the fact I didn't have a School Head A or Elf Ducan, my 'grail dolls'. That didn't stop me checking out the MP, of course, and that's where I came across a School Head A and, eventually, an Elf Ducan. I bought them both - how could I not? With the LE Elf Ducan I can feel that my collection is complete, but who knows? After all, I still don't have that Anos I would so love to own!
