    1. Have you ever had one, or not?
      yes, i have..

If you have, have you finally managed to have it in your collection?
I still have no luck..It's a dollfie dream Nia Teppelin

Do you treat it differently to your other dolls?
don't know for the meantime since I still haven't got her..

Do you only consider the very expensive dolls as Grail dolls?
I consider a doll as my holy grail, if i really, really, really love the mold..anyway dollfie dream Nia is already expensive and that's one factor why I can't lay a hand on this doll..:|

Have you managed to buy your Grail doll, but then been disappointed in some way with it?I haven't bought any holy grail dolls..

    2. Have you ever had one, or not?
Ooh yea! and quite a lot! I have brought home 4, waiting on 1 and still pining for 4

If you have, have you finally managed to have it in your collection?
The 4 I have a SA Husky, Hound, Heliot and Amakusa, my Husky was my 1st resin boy, I adore him and could never part with, he is my no.1 too. I fell hard for Heliot and bought him pretty much on day 1 and I still love him! I had seen Amakusa but I couldn't afford him from Volks at the time, but a year ago I was lucky enough to buy him! Lastly my hound with I spoted a couple of months after Amakusa and just HAD to have him! the one I'm waiting for is my Bernard, now I've pined and pined and searched for him for years, lost out on 3 that was for sale, then Dollshe rereleased him and better still the pure body!! I was so happy! I just a little bummed that I'm having to wait at least 4 months longer then I planned. But as I endured the 6-7month wait for Heliot I'm can do it! There is one other but it's not the doll but the Character that I want to bring to doll form and so far he's had 4 incarnations and I'm working on my 5th.
I do have have what I call the unexpected demi-grails, being that I'd never considered them till I meet on in person, Chrom, Chalco and Sard come in to this. I never intended to pine for them at all and now I have them.

Do you treat it differently to your other dolls?
All but my SA Husky are treated the same, just with a little bit more care. My SA Husky tho I do treat like he's made of glass, I rarely take him out, he owns the more luxurious clothes too.

Do you only consider the very expensive dolls as Grail dolls?
Nope I could fall for any! I've had 3 Weylins in the past and I would have kept them if I could get a Character settled with them but alas I am still trying! There is a trend for me at least, Dollshe and SOOM Super gem MDs, 3 I pine for are Beryl, Amber and Cuprit. Always have! Which is very unlike me as I've never been a big fan SD girls. The last is a Mega gem Shoushon the only reason I didn't jump to the buy button was his hooves, but now they have grown on me and I regret passing him up.

Have you managed to buy your Grail doll, but then been disappointed in some way with it?
Amakusa, he can't pose all that well compared to most of my collection, he's default wig and clothes certainly did not impress me either.

    3. Have you ever had one, or not?

Yes: that one BW SD Nono Sweet Dream release from umpteen years ago. 30 pieces only. :(

If you have, have you finally managed to have it in your collection?

I just got the first version normal release of her. Just waiting for her to get here.:D

Do you only consider the very expensive dolls as Grail dolls?

No. She's not even my most expensive bjd.

Have you managed to buy your Grail doll, but then been disappointed in some way with it?

Since I haven't even seen one of the BW version up for sale in years, I'll make do. It shouldn't take much to adjust her skin tone to be more pale.

    4. Have you ever had one, or not?
Yes, just one. Or three.
If you have, have you finally managed to have it in your collection?
Not yet. I absolutely will have them in the future, but not yet.
Do you treat it differently to your other dolls?
N/A but I kind of doubt I would. Once I have a doll in hand that I've been pining for, after a few days or weeks, they just become part of the gang. I expect the grail dolls would end up the same way.
Do you only consider the very expensive dolls as Grail dolls?
Yes. I know it's not the case for everyone, but for me it is. I'm not interested in limiteds--except for one particular limited costume I'd really REALLY like to get my hands on-- but my grail dolls are grail dolls because they are just a bit too pricey for me to afford at the moment.
Have you managed to buy your Grail doll, but then been disappointed in some way with it?
      N/A

    5. Have you ever had one, or not?
      Yes.

If you have, have you finally managed to have it in your collection?
Yes, my first BJD and current boy is my grail doll

Do you treat it differently to your other dolls?
No,I have 2 Taeyangs which I love very much in which one is my first ever doll. But somehow I prefer to bring my BJD boy everywhere I go because he's heavy. I like the feeling. But I love them the the same though.

Do you only consider the very expensive dolls as Grail dolls?
No. As long as you fell in love with the doll, the price doesn't matter much.

Have you managed to buy your Grail doll, but then been disappointed in some way with it?
No. I fell in love with his eyes. And I bought him without face up. Everything about him is perfect to me.

    6. Have you ever had one, or not?
      Yes, a Volks SD Charlotte.

If you have, have you finally managed to have it in your collection?
I just recently was able to find one for sale and was even able to negotiate a better price. : )

Do you treat it differently to your other dolls?

Yes. She is single handedly the most expensive doll I own. However, I wanted her to be more of a play doll than a display doll. So instead of a glass case, I made a custom violin doll case for her. Thus I can pull her out and sit her upon my desk easily.

Do you only consider the very expensive dolls as Grail dolls?

Grail dolls are hard to acquire by definition, which is often reflected in the price.

Have you managed to buy your Grail doll, but then been disappointed in some way with it?
My Anastacia (I renamed her.) is just as I expected her to be. I am very happy with her.

    7. Ohh my, I think this is such a great thread xDDD

Have you ever had one, or not?
      Yes, she's my /only/ doll right now, a Unoa Lusis 1.5 xD;;

If you have, have you finally managed to have it in your collection?
As the above says, yep! I decided to make my first doll, my dream doll xD Hence I just kept searching and waiting until I could get my hands on her. :)

Do you treat it differently to your other dolls?
I'm planning another doll as we speak, and I'd have to say, nope. My Unoa may have been harder to get but I'm actually looking forward to my next doll even more. xD

Do you only consider the very expensive dolls as Grail dolls?
Not necessarily, but this is usually the case anyway because they just so happen to be limited, or rare, etc. I view Grail dolls as really any doll that's just super hard to find that I just /have/ to get my hands on! (e.g...I really want an Ariadoll Narvy still but she's just ridiculously hard to find...lucky AD is selling Narvy boys...hopefully I can snag a head in the future >u>)

Have you managed to buy your Grail doll, but then been disappointed in some way with it?
I heard about the limited posing of Unoas, so when I got her, naturally I was prepared but yeah...her posing is terrible, and still is (got to restring her sometime orz)! I /was/ disappointed that her joints were dirty, but that's not really a fault of the doll itself, just the previous owner. xD

    8. Have you ever had one, or not?
      YES!:fangirl:

If you have, have you finally managed to have it in your collection?
      Not yet!:(

Do you only consider the very expensive dolls as Grail dolls?
It depends some of the dolls I like are cheap. ;)

    9. Have you ever had one, or not?
My main "grail" is a Volks Sei-Tenshi, smiling face, pastel wings, but I also would put in the "grail" category YoTenshi Hinata and to a lesser degree, YoSD Nono.

If you have, have you finally managed to have it in your collection?
Nope...I've seen them for sale before, but always at way more $$ than I can afford at that moment.

Do you treat it differently to your other dolls?
I'm sure I would treat the Sei-Tenshi differently because of the fragility of the wings (they are affixed permanently to the back, and can break off), but the other two, no.

Do you only consider the very expensive dolls as Grail dolls?
Not really, the Sei-Tenshi is gifted, it's just very, very, very hard to obtain. The two Yos listed weren't expensive initially, I just wasn't eligible to try to get them when they were first released.

Have you managed to buy your Grail doll, but then been disappointed in some way with it?
I'm sure I'd be quite happy...I love Yos, and I adore my friend's Sei-Tenshi that she won at the LADollpa.

    10. Have you ever had one, or not?
hufff... not really. I used to really want a CP woosoo and Soom Euclase but got over those...

If you have, have you finally managed to have it in your collection?
      nope

Do you treat it differently to your other dolls?
it would logically be my fav, therefor be more spoiled and it would be the one I bring with me everywhere

Do you only consider the very expensive dolls as Grail dolls?
yes. if you think of the Holy grail, it was something very precious and was hard to find... so for a doll to be consider "grail doll" it had to be rare and/or expensive. if it's too easy to get, it's just a normal "really want" doll.

    11. Have you ever had one, or not?
      Indeed I have

If you have, have you finally managed to have it in your collection?
I bought him, but he is still on the way

Do you treat it differently to your other dolls?
I don't have him yet, but all of my doll plans revolve around making stuff for him and not the others. I feel kinda bad actually :\

Do you only consider the very expensive dolls as Grail dolls?
      No.

Have you managed to buy your Grail doll, but then been disappointed in some way with it?
We will see when he arrives \o/

    12. Have you ever had one, or not?
Yes! I've wanted an Elf Chiwoo since they came out, but during the release, I didn't have the cash for him, and since then, the circumstances just hadn't been right (either I don't have the money, or none for sale, etc)

If you have, have you finally managed to have it in your collection?
Happily, yes. I actually finally bought one last weekend, a collector was selling hers at a convention I was attending. I didn't realize how badly I still wanted an Elf Chiwoo until I saw that, y'know, there was one right in front of me and my money had been depleted yet again (damn conventions!) But my awesome sister gave me a loan to get the doll, so now he's mine~

Do you treat it differently to your other dolls?
Not especially? Okay, I have. I'm a little less "Whoo!" and picture-happy than when I get a new doll usually, but that's because he's not quite "complete" (he's on a girl body, lol)

Do you only consider the very expensive dolls as Grail dolls?
No? In the scheme of limited dolls, Elf Chiwoo isn't really that expensive. And honestly, I would consider any doll that you really, really want to be a grail doll. (I guess I could consider my first doll a grail doll too, in that case)

Have you managed to buy your Grail doll, but then been disappointed in some way with it?
Nope! Even though he's currently on a girl body, I'm still thrilled to have him. He's so gorgeous and perfect! And I get to work on him, which makes me love him even more.

    13. Have you ever had one, or not?
Kinda..for about two years now I've been searching for a sculpt for a certain character. I kinda knew once I found it, It would be an 'OMG I must have!" But, never had a sculpt til I happen to see him on the MP. (SOO dangerous...:XD:) He's a MD Cynical Yujin BTW :aheartbea On a side note, I'd love to eventually own a SOOM MD but I don't have high hope for that.
If you have, have you finally managed to have it in your collection?
I'm in the processes right now!! :kitty2
Do you treat it differently to your other dolls?
Hate to say it but probably...I put a doll for sale I never expected to just so I could rationalize getting him lol
Do you only consider the very expensive dolls as Grail dolls?
Nope, because to me the very expensive dolls are...just too expensive. :|
Have you managed to buy your Grail doll, but then been disappointed in some way with it?
Well, I'll let you know once I do get him! *_*

    14. Have you ever had one, or not? Yes a number of Grail dollies. I wanted a DollShe boy and recently ordered 3. I know crazy but I had some Blythe sales, sundries and work sales. As you can see by my icon I collect Blythe Big Heads too, I have owned 3 Kenners, the original 1972 dolls, 2 Goldies and a Kozy which are among the coveted Blythe, amongst others.

If you have, have you finally managed to have it in your collection? So my Grail BJD as I said was a DollShe Boy and soon that wish will come true, very soon I hope. A Saint. But I admit he is my number 2 DollShe grail. No. 1 is Bermann and if that itch comes back after my 3 Boys get here, then I may have to scratch it. Maybe. Then there will a cull! But hey if the right Hound or Husky came along temptation would burn too!

Do you treat it differently to your other dolls? I treat one Kenner doll more preciously than the other girls. Due to this I may have to part with her, I like to photo them and play and I hate the over worrying! My others I'm careful but not precious.

Do you only consider the very expensive dolls as Grail dolls?
I only have the dolls I really want. The price has no influence. Yes the dolls I have are on the upper end but I only have a few. Fits and starts I guess.

Have you managed to buy your Grail doll, but then been disappointed in some way with it? In some circumstances yes, not down to the doll, just not bonding really. I had far too many and that got in the way of enjoying them and the hobby. So now I love my small gang!

    15. Have you ever had one, or not?
I've had multiple Grail dolls. :) The first was Migidoll Ryu, the second was Soom Spinel, and the third was Dollshe Saint. I don't remember if the Spinel came before the Saint, but that doesn't matter much. :P

If you have, have you finally managed to have it in your collection?
Yes, and I'm so glad that I did! :XD: Now, Ryu wasn't that difficult to get ahold of, so I got him pretty quick. Soom kind of pulled a semi-fast one on me; they said they were going to discontinue Spinel, so I put one on layaway. Now, he hasn't been discontinued, but I'm still happy to have him. Saint, I had on layaway, then paid off, but am now currently agonizing over the wait for him.

Do you treat it differently to your other dolls?
Not really, but to varying degrees. My Ryu is my only girly-boy. My Spinel (and in the future, my Saint) has (will have) a fur wig and silicone eyes, instead of the synthetic wigs and glass eyes my other kids have.

Do you only consider the very expensive dolls as Grail dolls?
Not entirely, but for the most part yes. My Grail dolls are a 'grail' to me because they are hard to get. So, primarily, the very expensive ones are harder to get. Ryu was not too very expensive, but with Migidoll's order periods, he is a tad harder to obtain.

Have you managed to buy your Grail doll, but then been disappointed in some way with it?
So far, not really. I am a tad sad with my Spinel occasionally, because even though I have him strung relatively well, he tends to flop around a bit and not stand well, but that's mainly because the shoes he wears doesn't support his ankles well. The same happens with my Ryu; although that's an AOD body, so that's different. :P

    16. Have you ever had one, or not?
Yes, I have a few. My ultimate grail doll that I think I may never get is a Volks Suiseiseki, she is the doll that led me to DoA <3 however, I do have a long list of other dolls that are more obtainable, and I really reaaaaaaally love them.
If you have, have you finally managed to have it in your collection?
I have one of my dream dolls that was on the list a Volks Nana.....head >3< I haven't managed to find a body for her yet.
Do you treat it differently to your other dolls?
I would definitely treat my ultimate grail doll, Suiseiseki, differently. I would be terrified to handle her and play with her as much as my other dolls. I treat my F-01 head differently, I have only had it out of the box twice: when she arrived, and then another time to take about 4 pictures of her. My other dolls are out at least 3 times a week.
Do you only consider the very expensive dolls as Grail dolls?
Sort of, if they aren't expensive off the company site then they will be expensive in the marketplace. I consider Grail dolls to be that doll that is so hard to get, and you end up wanting it for a loooooooong time, and the desire to have the doll becomes almost unbearable . It doesn't really mean that I would love her more than the other dolls, just that I might appreciate her more because of all the work I put into getting her.
Have you managed to buy your Grail doll, but then been disappointed in some way with it?
I have not managed to get my Grail doll yet ):

    17. Have you ever had one, or not?
I've had/have two ^.^ CP Lishe and CP Breakaway 05

If you have, have you finally managed to have it in your collection?
CP Lishe is what got me into BJDs, I just thought she was stunning. she was my first (and only) doll, and I love her. the Breakaway is fairly unattainable.

Do you treat it differently to your other dolls?
she is my only doll, so I wouldn't know.

Do you only consider the very expensive dolls as Grail dolls?
no, I just consider the ones that you REALLY love, to be Grail dolls.

Have you managed to buy your Grail doll, but then been disappointed in some way with it?
I bought Lishe, and I love her to pieces<3 she is so beautiful in real life. I have not been able to buy a Breakaway.

    18. Have you ever had one, or not?
I'm really new to this and I have some that I really love already. Nothing crazy expensive, yet, though.

If you have, have you finally managed to have it in your collection?
      Working on it!

Do you treat it differently to your other dolls?
It will probably get more attention than the others for awhile - then the newness will wear off and we'll settle into normal family mode.
Do you only consider the very expensive dolls as Grail dolls?
Its realy about the visuals. I just crave certain looks.

Have you managed to buy your Grail doll, but then been disappointed in some way with it?
      Not yet.

    19. Have you ever had one, or not?
Yes; two actually. Dollshe Saint when Tensiya was closed, and Bermann.

If you have, have you finally managed to have it in your collection?
I've got the Saint as soon as I knew Dollshe opened again and I had the money. I loved his head mold so much and I wanted him so badly that I didn't care he was in the infamous DSAM body.

Do you treat it differently to your other dolls?
I guess so... He's the only one with a tailored suit and I think he's the doll with the most pictures taken of.

Do you only consider the very expensive dolls as Grail dolls?
Well, Saint is not expensive anymore. But Bermann... Woa. I don't have more grail dolls so...

Have you managed to buy your Grail doll, but then been disappointed in some way with it?
I kinda got disappointed in the body, but I've got used to it and I think it actually "fits" his personality. I don't care anyway <3

    20. Thank you for your answers. I have to say there are some really diverse ones, and the 'Grail' doll ideas aren't as straight forward as I first thought either...
