Yes, I have a grail doll, too acutally , a Luts Delf Breakaway and a Doll Chateau Bella.

Unforunately not yet...

Do you treat it differently to your other dolls?
I don't have them yet, but I assume my DC Bella would be special since she'll be the token girl.

Do you only consider the very expensive dolls as Grail dolls?
Nope, DC Bella is a average priced MSD.

Have you managed to buy your Grail doll, but then been disappointed in some way with it?
I don't have them at the moment...

Do you treat it differently to your other dolls? Not yet, and I don't think I will. I try to treat all my dolls with as much care as I can, I do not think I will be more or less cautious with my Woosoo. So far as favoring to it, I'm not sure yet...
Do you only consider the very expensive dolls as Grail dolls? No. But, by definetion, a "grail" should be something rare.

Yep! I had four~ SD13 Shirou Tachibana, MSD Hewitt, Unoa (Boy) Lusis, and YoSD Kanon.

Yes, except for one which I sold (he was an SD13 and I wanted to switch to all Minis, although he still is my favorite SD13 mould).

Do you treat it differently to your other dolls?
I am often astounded I was able to get the ones I had wanted for a very long time, but they make me happy to the same extent!

Do you only consider the very expensive dolls as Grail dolls?
Nope, I think it's about how much someone wants the doll instead of price. :3

Nope, each one was as amazing as it looked in pictures: I made sure to do a ton of research and find lots of photos of them beforehand (especially since I usually had the time since it took years to get each of my grails!) so once they arrived I was as excited as when I first saw them.

Yes. My grail was Soom Nephelin.

No. Well...maybe I look at her more than the others.

Do you only consider the very expensive dolls as Grail dolls?
No. I think it is a doll that could be limited, rare or hard to obtain. In my case I had the opportunity to buy her during her ordering period but I had only just discovered ABJDs and could not bring myself to spend that much money on a doll (haha). I consider myself very lucky to have found her on the MP almost 100% complete.

Have you managed to buy your Grail doll, but then been disappointed in some way with it?
No, I love her very much and do not regret buying her at all.

Yes, and not one... DollShe Orijean, Elfdoll Hazy and Soom Mecha angel Meisa, I think, are my ultimate grail dolls ever. What I feel for them is something totally special, hard to describe.

I have 2... well, almost 3 Orijeans now. And Meisa. Will certanly get Hazy at some point too.

Do you treat it differently to your other dolls?

Not really. Maybe I look at them more often... but I think I treat all my dolls equally, try not to spoil any of them and such.

Do you only consider the very expensive dolls as Grail dolls?
No, my grail dolls are of average cost, I think. Well, maybe a bit above of that, but nothing like very rare LE dolls (Meisa is just discontinued and hard to obtain since now), they are just very special for me.

Not for a second. I'm more than happy to finally own them and I think they're perfect, even if they have some flaws.

He was my "grail doll" because I fell in love with everything about his defaults, and his cute little duckface. So, he basically stays in his default outfit, wig and eyes and I duckface every time I look at him; with my other dolls I constantly change their attire and wigs... and I don't feel the urge to duckface at any of the others in my collection.
Do you only consider the very expensive dolls as Grail dolls?
Honestly? No. I've looked at a lot of the really expensive dolls, but very few have appealed to me. Most of the expensive ones I see have kind of odd faces, and their "assets" come in the form of gaudy costume or awkward fantasy parts; not a huge fan of either, personally.

I had issues with the transaction itself, but other than that; nope.

Have you ever had one, or not? Yup! I saw DoD's E-an and I fell in love with her...Not knowing what sculpt/brand she was from! But I knew from the moment I saw her she must become mine. That feeling was stronger than any doll I've ever wanted.

Do you treat it differently to your other dolls? As much as I hate to admit it I do...I buy her more clothes and wigs I take more pictures of her and I brag about her waaay more than my other dolls!

Do you only consider the very expensive dolls as Grail dolls? Not really, cath was probably average price for a doll her size but I still love her just as much as if she was 5X more!

Have you managed to buy your Grail doll, but then been disappointed in some way with it? Nope, when she got here she didn't have a faceup so I couldn't really make a proper assumption but once she got back she was perfect^^

 

I didn't think I had a Grail doll for the longest time. Then recently someone put a Pipos Nero (the black resin cat) up for auction on eBay for $1450 or BO. I didn't even make an offer because with my roommate unemployed I couldn't afford to spend half that (I've put a lot of money into car repairs this year, and I need new glasses not another doll), but it just broke my heart to let him go! I love black cats, and Nero would be perfect to round out my group of one Baha, one Zuzu and one Ringo. He didn't sell and hasn't been relisted, and I keep thinking I could contact the seller and make a deal, but until roomie gets a job it ain't happening. Sigh.

Not really sure I ever did. There was a doll that due to bad timing (had just ordered a doll at the time) that I never got.

Not particularly. He's pretty much replacing the doll I ordered the first time I missed him.

I consider Grail dolls that one doll that you feel like you have to have in order to make your doll family complete.

Yeah I'm very happy that I finally managed to get my grail doll. I got into this hobby, only to have a Cloud Strife dollie ^^ Once I got Cloud, I feel like I've reached the end of my long crusade ^^ My final dream has been fulfilled. I've found my one and only. And that I don't need any other doll. Yeah I don't have a wishlist anymore (hmm...well perhaps another tiny in a distant future if I decide Cloud should have another baby XD). I'm very happy as well to be able to have both version of Cloud ^_^ Chibi and Senior ^^ And obviously I will keep both Clouds for the rest of my life, not planning to sell him EVER XD

Hhmm...I realize I play with him more often. But that doesn't mean I don't love the others ^^ Aside from having Cloud, my other boys are Sky (A CP Delf Woosoo), Zack, and Gabby Strife (Msdoll Pan). Obviously Zack and Gabby are a part of Cloud's family and Sky...he's also very special to me. Probably a Woosoo is my 2nd grail doll ^^ And I must say I was very lucky and forever grateful to God that I had given the chance to have a Woosoo.

Not necessarily. But in my case, coincidentally, Senior Cloud and Sky are the most expensive. But Chibi Cloud was standard ($600 for a full doll made in Korea back in 2006). To top it off, Chibi Cloud (Dollti Wooyan) is limited to only 25 in the world. I'd say $600 for a full doll limited and having a face very close to the real Cloud Strife is freakkin worth it.

Well....I'd say my Woosoo is the most perfect (well sculpted) of them all. I know that both Clouds aren't perfect (but that's prolly just because I'm such a fuss if it's about Cloud XD). But to me I still love them to death and think of them as precious.

Yes my grail doll is a Volks SD10 Charlotte fullset...

Not yet but I'm hoping that I will someday.

I think if I had her I would be so much more careful with her because she's so precious and I'd have waited so long.

Actually, yes because my definition of a grail doll is one that I can't get. More expensive ones usually fall into this category.

Haha no way xD. I did get the Homme Ducan though, and slowly my yearning for the Black Ducan ebbed away. Now there is now way I'd trade in my boy for him...

As for the Petter...well, I didn't have enough money, and now somethings going on with Ringdoll ;A; B'aawww

Well, I'm just going to answer this for my H. Ducan. Yes xD Yes I do. He tends to go more places and get more stuff... could be something to do with him being a lucky charm with finding doll sized stuff. But he's also given away some of his stuff to the other boys so... *shrugs*

With the Petter...I don't think I would if I got him...we'll have to see

Well...no. Just sculpts I like. The Black Ducan...well, he was sold out anyway xD
And the Petter I consider quite cheap for what comes with him...but like say, Ringdoll is having problems. I suppose I'm attracted to dolls I don't think I'm going to get *sobs*

Not gotten either...b'awww. But with my H. Ducan...I'm a bit annoyed at the sealing job on his lips, it was crappy... but overall, I'm very happy with him :3

Have you ever had one, or not? Well, I try not to lust after dolls that I can't have to save my sanity, but for a while it was a Volks School A. Now suddenly that doesn't seem that unobtainable if I actually had a job.. now it might be the SDGr Okita Souji fullset? Hahahahahahaha! *cries laughing*

I don't typically like fullsets but like many others, I have a thing for the Shinsengumi, so i think his outfit is great, and maybe he wouldn't get to be any other character, haha.. which would be different than my other dolls. *long sentence is long*
Do you only consider the very expensive dolls as Grail dolls? Well, I probably consider generally-hard-to-get ones to be Grail Dolls, as in rare molds... and rare molds tend to be very expensive. But they don't have to be expensive.
Have you managed to buy your Grail doll, but then been disappointed in some way with it? No... I have not bought any Grail doll. Before I had any doll or knew much about the hobby, I lusted after DoT Camine.. for YEARS!! And never have ended up with him. I think that I have seen them in real life though, and maybe it's good I didn't buy one? I am not sure really, I haven't inspected one closely... not too many DoDs in my neck of the woods.

At first my grail doll was my first doll. A KDM LE. She was everything I wanted in a doll.

The KDM was my first purchase and got me into BJDs.

Nope, Im as "hands on" with her as I am with the others.

No I consider a "grail doll" to be the one of your deepest desire... one you have to have irregardless of the hardship it takes.

I Love her to death but now wish she was a 60cm and not a mini anymore. I really want her to be grown up now. Other than the maturity of her body, she is still my beauty.

Honestly since her I have one other doll that I consider a "grail". The DM Kara Klum was my grail boy which took me several years to get. But He is the only boy doll I will ever own.

Yes, a Soom Beryl. But I think that any doll that you have a special intense "drawing too" can be a grail doll.

Yes, last year the lovely Solarsenshi sold me a Beryl LMOD, she arrived right around my birthday!

I play with her a lot, but I usually go through phases with my dolls and play with one more then the others for awhile then switch. I do give her choice wig & eye preference (sometimes even borrowing from my other dolls).

No, my Beryl was an excellent price for her, there was no crazy mark-up and I did a short layaway. I think it can be a doll that is harder to obtain, but to be fair for many just 1 basic doll can be that. I used to dream of owning a Minifee Shushu and couldn't afford one, I'd put together
endless outfit and wig ideas just hoping, but I never did get her. Maybe someday, I think my taste changed, hence a new grail when I got older.

Sometimes I think about having Beryl's face airbrushed to white skin, like the first release, but I am happy with her the way she is for now.

They do, but they only taking a little bit more on my attention, more stuff, more props, well but the good thing that they can share it they are not egoist hopefully

Doesn't matter, I just love the sculpt, well they out when I don't have money yet so it's hard to get... and "rare" the other thing I have to consider >_>

All but Mamu so far. I also have a lot of grail 'type' dolls in my collection, rare LEs and the like. I just managed to get them when they were released rather than needing to hunt second-hand.

No, but they set a new standard for what I want from my dolls. For instance, My Unoas set the bar for what I want from a mini, my Volks for tinies, etc...

Generally, Grail dolls are expensive. To be a grail doll, they generally need to be both desirable and difficult to obtain, the two biggest elements in market value. The more obtainable a doll is, the less it has in 'grail' status if that makes sense. If you can always find on on the MP, it's not really unobtainable at all. Unoas are this way now...

I was disappointed with Soah but only because I didn't take into account how huge she would be next to my other girls.

 

I actually had a dream about my grail doll last night. DOD had rereleased him for whatever reason and some guys came by my house with an epic deal for him for 300$ for the fullset. Needless to say I was quite depressed when I woke up...
