    1. I dont really have a grail since the moment you get the so called "grail" sooner or later another grail doll will show up...it's a never ending cycle. I do have dolls that are on priority to get list though, however that list itself keeps on changing...and really it just comes up to whether or not i have the money to get it...

    2. Have you ever had one, or not
      I do...still do since it's now unavailable. ~.~

If you have, have you finally managed to have it in your collection?
Nope, but I know I'll have her one day.

Do you treat it differently to your other dolls
Well, unfortunately I fund the hobby myself so I'd probably have to sell all of my future dolls for that one.

Do you only consider the very expensive dolls as Grail dolls?
Yeah. If a doll is unlimited (in the color you want and everything) then it's just something you would have to take a bit out of your pay-check for. It's not like you have to search every market there is to find it and have to do over-time and save every penny to get.

Have you managed to buy your Grail doll, but then been disappointed in some way with it?
Nope, but if I did I probably wouldn't be since I have the same sculpt in a smaller size. I already have experience with it has far as looks go. The only problem would be the size and finding clothes, but that's a battle with everything.

    3. Have you ever had one, or not? Yes, I drooled over him for a year.

If you have, have you finally managed to have it in your collection? Actually he was my first ordered doll. Ringdoll Sol, my first doll love.

Do you treat it differently to your other dolls? Yes, he gets the cool clothes, accessories and more photos, he is actually getting a twin so I will have 2 Sol's.

Do you only consider the very expensive dolls as Grail dolls? No, granted Ringdolls aren't cheap but they aren't in the $1000+ range, but I haven't seen one in that range I had to have.

Have you managed to buy your Grail doll, but then been disappointed in some way with it? No,I am not disappointed in my Ringdoll whatsoever. He poses great and looks good in clothes or without.

    4. Have you ever had one, or not?
I have - I have this list of sculpts to get (have most of them) - included were some Grail dolls - hard to impossible to get, that I, you know, NEED.

If you have, have you finally managed to have it in your collection?
Yes I got two of them already :D

Do you treat it differently to your other dolls?
      No.

Do you only consider the very expensive dolls as Grail dolls?
No. I have one that is a must/have that's really not so expensive.

Have you managed to buy your Grail doll, but then been disappointed in some way with it?
No. My Soom Hyperon & Volks Ryota Sakamoto are EXACTLY what I expected, if not more so.

    5. Have you ever had one, or not?
No. I don't have grail sculpts, but I have doll 'concepts' I feel I need to have. Like dolls based on j - fashion, steampunk dolls, and at least one dark tan doll with white hair and golden eyes.

    6. I'm too new to have a grail doll. I did have several grail pieces from Windstone, a gypsum scultp I also collect. I waited years to own them. I don't love my others any less, but my grail pieces do bring me some extra joy when I look at them. I expect it would be the same way with a grail doll, if I ever find one.

    7. Have you ever had one, or not?
I'm hoping that the doll I just put on order, Popodoll Leibo, will be the one that will turn out to be the sensuous aristocrat character I've been looking for.
Will I treat it differently? I don't know yet. I think the potential is there, that if I get his faceup to turn out the way I hope, I might be willing to sell off another doll or two that didn't quite achieve what I was aiming at.
I don't see that a grail doll would have to be expensive, just something that has been hard for you to get for one reason or another. In my case, Leibo will be the most expensive doll I've purchased. I dithered about purchasing him for months, because it took a while for photos of the sculpt to show up other than the company photos. I've read good reviews of the 68 cm body, so I don't think I'll be disappointed.

    8. Have you ever had one, or not?
Yes-ish. I went into this with a grail-like style/quality that I wanted to someday own.

If you have, have you finally managed to have it in your collection?
Hope so! I think so... Just ordered her (secondhand), and she's not here yet.

Do you only consider the very expensive dolls as Grail dolls?
Nope... Well, in their new state, I think the styles I consider "grail-like" start appearing in the mid-price range. And, for me, she appeared secondhand, so she was actually quite affordable. :)

    9. Have you ever had one, or not?
      yes

If you have, have you finally managed to have it in your collection?
      so soon!! :D

Do you treat it differently to your other dolls?
      I don't think I will no.

Do you only consider the very expensive dolls as Grail dolls?
nope just ones that make the person melt when they look at them

Have you managed to buy your Grail doll, but then been disappointed in some way with it?
      NOPE :D

    10. Have you ever had one, or not?
I do! It was love at first sight!

If you have, have you finally managed to have it in your collection?
      I'm saving for her. :)

Do you treat it differently to your other dolls?
I think I would spend a lot more on my Grail Doll. I would have a lot more outfits for her.

Do you only consider the very expensive dolls as Grail dolls?

Not at all. My Grail Doll is a Supia Lina. She's not that rare or overly expensive, but she's the one for me!

Have you managed to buy your Grail doll, but then been disappointed in some way with it?
      I can't imagine such a twisted fate! :o

    11. Have you ever had one, or not?

      I have.

If you have, have you finally managed to have it in your collection?

Yes, I have, though, I have a few more grails on my wish-list.

Do you treat it differently to your other dolls?

Well, I love all my dolls pretty equally, actually.

Do you only consider the very expensive dolls as Grail dolls?

No, not necessarily, but when I think of grail dolls, I think of them as being very hard to acquire in the after market and/or limited. I don't consider standard dolls as grails cos they are easy to get and there are many of them in the aftermarket.

Have you managed to buy your Grail doll, but then been disappointed in some way with it?

Nope, not at all. I think a long time to even decide if I want a dolly in my wish-list, much more so for grail status.

    12. Have you ever had one, or not?
      Yes definitely...a couple actually.

If you have, have you finally managed to have it in your collection?
I managed to snag one when the company rereleased the doll in a modified form

Do you treat it differently to your other dolls?
      not really

Do you only consider the very expensive dolls as Grail dolls?
no...just ones that are sold out

Have you managed to buy your Grail doll, but then been disappointed in some way with it?
      not yet

    13. Have you ever had one, or not?
Just one and that's only come about this year :)

If you have, have you finally managed to have it in your collection?
I plan to before the end of the year.

Do you treat it differently to your other dolls?
I can't see that I will, but because of how the doll is made and how many extra parts she has I'll have to be extra careful! She's a DC Barbara so all her extra head parts and long limbs will dictate how I treat her.

Do you only consider the very expensive dolls as Grail dolls?
No, just one that grabs my attention and then I obsessive unhealthy about them and even dream about them! Oh dear :(

Have you managed to buy your Grail doll, but then been disappointed in some way with it?
It's not happened yet, so I can't really comment on this. I did buy some dolls this year though which I had on my wish list for a verryyyy long time and they were sold off not too long after they arrived. I'm hoping this doesn't happen with Barbara though, but she's not been around for as long as the others that came and went this year (Pipos Lilac Frog and a Pipos Mint Ringo).

    14. Have you ever had one, or not?
      Yes I have one.

If you have, have you finally managed to have it in your collection?
Not yet. I have been saving off and on for the last 6 months for her.

Do you treat it differently to your other dolls?
Probably not. I choose all my girls very carefully so I tend not to favor one over the other.

Do you only consider the very expensive dolls as Grail dolls?
No I feel any doll can be someone's grail doll whether they cost a few hundred or a few thousand.

Have you managed to buy your Grail doll, but then been disappointed in some way with it?
I haven't managed to bring her home yet so I hope I am not disappointed lol.

    15. Have you ever had one, or not?
Yes, I do. Now did I purchase it, is another matter entirely.
I believe the term of a “grail doll” would be described as the ultimate doll that one wishes to add to his/her collection. How people interpret that is up to them. But usually I think it would be a doll you always keep coming back to look at, no matter how many years or months have passed you’re just as smitten with the doll as the first time you laid eyes on it. Whoops, pardon the sentimentality. C:

    16. Have you ever had one, or not?

Yes! It took years for her to come along, and I never thought I would be a "grail" person, but when Dollzone released their Una, I fell in love with her right away.

If you have, have you finally managed to have it in your collection?

At last! I seriously thought it would never happen, because even before she was discontinued MoC had stopped taking orders for her because of all the problems they were having with breakage in transit, so I just sort of gave up... until one day I found one on the MP, and now I have my dream girl.

Do you treat it differently to your other dolls?

Yes :XD: Elomnia is so spoiled. She's the only one I do "serious"/"professional" type photoshoots (not fun dorky photostories like I do with my fanart collection) with, and I put ridiculous amounts of time and effort into building her an enormous custom wardrobe whether or not the outfit in question has anything to do with her backstory. I've learned new patterning techniques, I hand-sew tons even though it's my least favorite thing to do in making clothes, I'm constantly sketching and thinking of new designs. I just want her to have mountains of beautiful things.

Do you only consider the very expensive dolls as Grail dolls?

Nah. What makes a Grail is how much you'd love to have it and how difficult it'd be to obtain. It can be a discontinued sculpt from an obscure company that's not easy to find, even if that company is an inexpensive one, or a doll that's in production that you can't get easily for whatever reason (like the breakage situation with Una and MoC).

Have you managed to buy your Grail doll, but then been disappointed in some way with it?

Lord no. I was kind of worried I would be, ngl, but now that she's home, I love El five thousand times more than I thought I would! I thought she'd just be something I'd have around that'd be pretty to look at, but as it turns out, I'm more actively involved with her than any of the others.

    17. Have you ever had one, or not?
I have, though my grails were less about price and more about scarcity. Dolls that I assumed I'd never be able to own because they were too limited.

If you have, have you finally managed to have it in your collection?
Yes! Belonging to doll forums is such a great way to track down those hard to find dolls! :)

Do you treat it differently to your other dolls?
No, I don't. I tend to have a bonding period with each new doll that I bring home. I keep them on my desk at work for a few weeks, I spend time shopping for them online, and take pictures of them. Then, they all go into the doll basket together, regardless of grail or regular purchase status.

Do you only consider the very expensive dolls as Grail dolls?
Nope!! None of my grails were very expensive dolls; they just took many months or sometimes years of searching to find them. And they were all really reasonably priced, too.

Have you managed to buy your Grail doll, but then been disappointed in some way with it?

Yes. I am a little disappointed in how much I paid for one particular grail, and then I was disappointed that her box had fallen apart while she was in storage. And her stock outfit was a mess too; many pieces were very poorly sewn. But I'm still overall glad that I brought her home! :D

    18. Have you ever had one, or not? Yes :)
If you have, have you finally managed to have it in your collection? After several years of searching, yes! Finally brought her home last March.
Do you treat it differently to your other dolls? After considering it, I'd have to say yes. I'm much more careful with her as far as taking her out to meets and such, and she has the most expensive and elaborate outfits.
Do you only consider the very expensive dolls as Grail dolls? Not at all. My girl wasn't any more expensive compared to a regular release by the same company but I did get a good deal on her (she was second hand). I don't think being a grail has anything to do with price. It's more about how scarce & hard to find the doll is.
Have you managed to buy your Grail doll, but then been disappointed in some way with it? Absolutely not! I adore her in every way- she's even lovelier in person!

    19. Have you ever had one, or not?
      Yes. Several, actually

If you have, have you finally managed to have it in your collection?
      Two of them already

Do you treat it differently to your other dolls?
Iam so afraid of sun damage that I hardly take them out of their box :pout:

Do you only consider the very expensive dolls as Grail dolls?
No but the ones I couldn't get are very rare, therefore very expensive and unaffordable for me.

Have you managed to buy your Grail doll, but then been disappointed in some way with it?
      Not yet :XD:

    20. Have you ever had one, or not?
Yes! I found him while I was surfing around browsing Migidoll, and it was that lightning bolt of instant love. And of course, he was sold out. I also thought he was a limited edition (he wasn't, I just wasn't aware of Migidoll's ordering system at the time), and had resigned myself to months of pining while surfing the marketplace, when I decided to go have a browse and see if he was being offered. And he was! I'd found my grail and all of 20mins later I was in touch with someone about buying him secondhand.

Do you only consider the very expensive dolls as Grail dolls?

See I used to think that Grails had to be this great unobtainable thing, be it a limited edition or discontinued or what have you. Something that has to be a trek and a struggle to get, or something you have to sell a limb for. But ultimately, for me anyway, a Grail is just that doll which is love at first sight. It's more of a feeling I suppose, a connection. That doesn't happen often for me, so when it does, that's what makes the 'Grail' doll special.
