It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. You've got ALL the dolls you want-- What Next???

May 4, 2011

    1. Well, I thought I had all I wanted several dolls ago. Right now we are pausing and I am trying to get more clothes sewn for my treasures. They have their bedrooms, but one needs more for a place to hang out than that -- maybe I will build them a kitchen or pizza joint, or park, or...

    2. I've got all the dolls I want for now so I am working on making sure I have everyone in nice clothing, wigs, and upgrading their eyes to high quality glass or urethane eyes. I've also started working on more accessories and props. I'm making my girls purses and I'm making food and that sort of thing.

    3. I'd like to get a MUCH better camera because I love to make artistic images and stories that would follow for my dolls.

So far, I'm not sure I will :| ever have all the dolls I want ... however, I probably will take time to pair down my current collection a little

    4. MORE CLOTHES! :) And props for photography.

    5. I'm at the point where I'm basically done buying new BJD's since the ones I truly wanted, I own now. I like looking at BJD's, but most of them don't make want them, with the exception of my two boys. So, more or less, what I do is just occasionally purchase stuff for them- a wig here, eyes there, an outfit every once in a while. I don't know how people manage such large collections, I'd lose track of them all. lol.

    6. When I finally get all the dolls I want [which will surely be years from now, I mean my wishlist is so long..] I will probably start to try and invest more into their wardrobes and get them more accessories to suit their characters.
Maybe try and work on rooms for them for the story and such.
But I think in the end after I have all the dolls I want I'd still end up getting more tinies because how cute they are and easy they would be to fit into my story.

    7. I think I would get more clothes and props-especially props, because I have so few. Then I would work on finally getting some decent pictures of my crew.

    8. Currently, I only have four floating heads left to get bodies for, and only two more dolls on my wishlist, and one of them isn't even a definite WANT, I just think he's crazy pretty. So... I'm getting close.

I'll probably have a teenage crisis and question the existence of my life and I dunno maybe explode.

No, but really I'll actually buy THINGS for my dolls instead of having them wear one outfit each while I buy more dolls. I'll actually take pictures for photostories! I'll buy non-doll related things! I'LL BE FREE! And then a shiny new doll will catch my eye, and it'll all be over. I'll be back in the chains of dolldom, but I'm okay with that.

    9. Several months ago I would have told you 100% I'm for sure done buying dolls, I even wanted to sell a few and cut back.
Then I realized I love all my dolls and couldn't part with any of them. So I did the logical thing and ordered more?!

I only have 2 more and a body left that I think I really want. At the moment anyway. I've told myself to slow down and drag it out, because I think I might be slightly addicted to the "new doll high" and I don't want to go through it too quickly.
That said, there are new dolls all the time and I'm sure at some point I will want more than the last few I have planned. I don't know if I'll ever have everyone I want and reach an end point with the collecting. I'm sure that as long as I'm enjoying dolls I will still buy more, although I hope that slows down (5 dolls in one year is too many XD) after these next ones get home. Once I'm more or less set with the dolls themselves I'll focus more on sewing, photography, writing and prop collecting. Everyone who is at home right now, except for one, has their set look. High quality eyes, good wig, nice faceup etc. My F60 Lishe needs a better faceup and is still waiting on her proper eyes to ship, but then they'll all be complete :)

I'm sure my tastes will change over time, and if they do I have no problem selling the old to bring in something new. Or completely re-doing a look to make an old doll feel like a new one. I love this hobby for all those reasons. It's not just one hobby for me, it's half a dozen tied together.

    10. I don't think that will ever happen. The only reason I ever stop buying new dolls is because my wallet can't stand any more damage for a while. That's the beauty of doll collecting, isn't it? They're always making more dolls. There will always be a few new dolls I like. Whether or not I can afford to buy them that's another thing entirely. I've certainly gotten bored with a certain doll maker's lines for a while but inevitably I just find another type of doll and start collecting that. Even with the vinyl dolls I was customizing some but with BJD's the possibilities that way are so endless I can't ever see myself getting really bored. The variety possible with BJD's is just too outstanding. I could literally have six of the same doll and they could all look totally different.

    11. For me i think i might switch dolls out i have a tendancy to not knowing what i reallllly want i love almost all the dolls i see but its not that love that will take me grasping forever onto the character or doll. It takes a long time for me to run into something like that and is rare in my eyes. Like for characters in games or anime it takes a bit to run into that one character that i instantly love and obssess over to the end of time. So i doubt that id ever be done with this hobby that and finishing them up because i would always need new outfits for diffrent dolls. Its so complicated x.x!!

    12. I don't know. I only plan to buy about 8 dolls total but I know some dolls will come out in the future that I will most likely end up buying. I think after I finally do stop buying dolls, ill focus on developing their backgrounds and do photostories. I don't see myself ever leaving the hobby completely, though.

    13. I think that is underestimating the probability of even more beautiful and amazing sculpts coming out in the future! ;) Sooner or later, even though you think you have all the dolls you want, there is bound to be another new beauty on the block that you must have.

Like any collection, there's curating and pruning it. Maybe in a few years your tastes will change and you will want to sell certain dolls, or change their wardrobes and their faceups and style. Maybe you will want to pursue a particular facet of the hobby in greater depth, like sewing, faceups, or photography.

    14. I'm nowhere close to having all the dolls I want and I doubt I'll ever be with all the new companies and dolls popping up. If I ever were to say no more dolls though, I think I would just spend my whatever little time I have left from work on customizing my dolls to perfection... :3

    15. I hit this point not too long ago. I even told my mom that I was done with buying new ones because I had all I wanted. Her suggestion was to now start looking at dolls in a different light. Instead of just looking at them for wanting, look for ones that you like and are special. Not so much as an investment, but pretty close. Something that would be difficult to find again.

    16. I do not know - maybe do some pause, who knows, maybe the new dolls that are interesting for your taste will appear...

    17. I don't know? personally, i know that i will always find dolls i like long after i say "Okay. No more." Although, if i ever got to the point where i felt satisfied with my collection at least for a time, I might want to try modding or sculpting dolls myself, or making clothes and accessories. Somehow, i think i'd really want to give back to the doll community as thanks for what they've done you know?

    18. Hmm, for me, i would do up some new props and clothes and possibly selling them for a little profit. :) and the profit will go into buying a new camera. From there we'll see how it go! There are many different things you could do in this doll hobby - sewing, crafting, modding... Possibilities are endless.

    19. I think, i will never stop ordering new dolls.
Because as soon as i think "Oh, i've got all dolls i needed!", there are new releases appear...Verified experience. :)

    20. When my next two are complete I will have all I want (or can fit in my room!) and I want to start concentrating on getting them a few more outfits and photographing them. I really want to get better and more into the photography side of things. That is not saying that one day in the future I may see one I just have to get but for now no others are on my wishlist:)
