It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.Dismiss Notice

sueding
From Den of Angels BJD Wiki
Sueding is a term used for adding actual suede pieces to the inner joints of bjds, but it can sometimes be other materials that add friction. The purpose is to allow the doll to pose more better, as suede adds friction for the limbs to hold their positions more efficiently. Other methods may include adding wiring to the doll to hold more extreme poses.
Items required for sueding:
- Glue or a form of strong adhesive
- Scissors
- Suede pieces
Pros:
- Decent for most poses and in some cases more extreme poses (depending weight of the doll's limbs or structure)
- When the pieces are shaped right, you won't see the suede, at all
- Is not harsh on the resin
- Fairly easy to apply, when the doll is unstrung
Cons:
- Depending on the suede color, it may discolor the resin
- Depending on the glue used, it may or may not be easy for future removal
- Does not help with more extreme poses on most heavier dolls
- If not done properly or have the proper thickness, the joints can look more separate or the suede can be seen
