Reason for choice:

Delphine was originally a Dream of Doll Camine on an original DollShe girl body, but when the Light and Shadow Onyx girls were released couldn't resist buying them since Delphine has a dead twin so it was pretty perfect. Except that I still prefer the previous version of the living twin.

Best Points:

Beautiful body sculpt.

Worst Points:

Horrible joint engineering.

Onyx was the June 2008 Monthly Doll and featured a new hand sculpt with long finger nails and two head sculpts (one open-eyed and one "Romantic") as the special details, which was largely panned for being underwhelming at the time since fantasy parts were at their peak popularity. The light and shadow visual concept and the original fullset outfits were inspired by the game Shaiya.

Delphine and her twin sister Lyris were kept isolated from the rest of the family and home-schooled by their mother, who believed that their absent father was an agent of Hell and would be coming to collect them someday. This would have been a perfectly ordinary story about a delusional parent doing serious psychological damage to her children had she not actually invited a demon into their home and offered him one of her teenaged daughters. Delphine was confused at not being the one chosen at the time since she was more devout, obedient and studious, but once her sister had died in childbirth and her distant family stepped in to put a stop to the madness and send the intruder on his way she concluded that being passed over was definitely the better result.
She is still studious, quick to volunteer and far less flashy than the rest of her cousins, but she has discovered a love for roller disco and spends her free time dancing with the Godfather of Skate in Golden Gate Park.
