Princess Kaguya - like, that Princess Kaguya. More or less. A woodcutter found him in a bamboo shoot, and then gold, jewels, and clothing in subsequent bamboo plants. Getting the hint, his foster-parents raised him as a girl. Rumours of his beauty reached the nobles of Emperor Kazan's court, and then things got really annoying for him.

He's pretty good friends with Mugetsu.

If you want to get technical about it, he's an alien.

I'm failing my way through making him era-appropriate clothing without drowning the poor doll in cloth. Right now, he's wearing most of a junihitoe. Someday he might get one that even has an era-appropriate colour scheme...

His foster father named him "Kaguya" or "Shining" in the story I borrowed him from.
    Character age:
    Late teens or so.

    Male
    Offsite roleplay:
This doll's character is not available for offsite roleplay.
Basically just the character from the story "The Tale of the Bamboo Cutter" with a few alterations. Because my Japanese dolls are all related to folklore concepts I wanted to explore, I thought it would be fun to play with a literary story that was adopted into folkloric tradition. Also, I really wanted to play with aliens before aliens were really a thing!

I could have sworn a manga existed called "Kaguya-hime is a Boy" or something along those lines that I cribbed the idea from, but apparently I hallucinated that.
