1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

1/3 scale swords

Jan 17, 2007

    1. omgz thanks XD
i was wondering where i could get a fencing type sword for a musketeer outfit XD

still trying to find the right katana tho :v

    2. Aw thanks so much for answering gordyguy!

    3. As you can see from the pictures, this katana has a properly-sized hilt, definitely a true miniature as opposed to a letter opener. The other swords in the collection that I got it from look like they'll make great, well-proportioned swords for SDs as well. :)

    4. i'm just looking for fantasy blades for some of my boys. :3

plus i love bladed weaponry as well, so miniature swords are like treasure to me!!

    5. oh wow, thanks for finding those urls~ o_o; I'm so buying a Scimitar sometime after the 18th! +__+

    6. I've been trying to find a Zweihander in scale to a Hound for awhile now but no luck. I've been thinking about buying a full sized short sword, hacking off the blade and faking a handle out ouf wood It would lack the parry hooks unfortunatley. The only metal I know how to work with is silver which is way too expensive to use for a sword.

Failing that I might just sculpt it and cast it in resin mixed with metal powder stuff.

Anyone tried either of these methods?

    7. Sorry everyone. I can't seem to post any pix of my gals with their swords. I tried everything and it the pix can't get uploaded. I even followed the criterias of file size and pixels allowed. I even tried making them smaller but the uploading always fail.:...(

Truly frustrating. I don't have any problems posting pix in other forums. I contacted the webmaster for help.:(

    8. try uploading them onto a hosting site and link the URL over. :3 works better.

    9. depending on the size of your doll's hands the katana hilts may look ok or slightly large. With the Dollshe's and DoTs or any of the bigger handed boys there isn't a problem with most. For boys and girls with smaller hands (like the AR SDs for example) if you're picky like me you'll want one with a thinner grip (I do have one without a scabbard in black and gold that has a great grip, which is a fair bit narrower than some of the scabbarded ones or the one pictured in this thread)

thicker grip with scabbard pictured below:

      Narrower grip below:

I'll see if I have better pictures somewhere

    10. Hmm. That's the only setback with the katana I bought for Seionai, it didn't come with a scabbard. I'll go look around for someone to make one for me... :sweat

    11. Finally done it:) . For those who wanna check out my two gals, ReiAnn and Emma with their swords http://gtan6.photosite.com I'm getting a sword with sheath next week. There's a store specialising with full scale practical as well as scale cast iron swords and weapons near my place. So there isn't a problem getting them here. :sweat

    12. Thanks for the help. Get to share pix of my gals now.:sweat

    13. Your girls are awesome! Thanks for sharing, gordyguy. About that store near your place, let us know how good their products are. :)

    14. Thanks Shizen. I've checked out the store already. The better swords are the ones I got for my gals. Same as the swords indicated in the begining of this thread. They are made from stainless steel with a good smooth finish. Sadly they don't come with a scabbard as the blade would be scratched. :(

The shop does come with other same scale swords with scabbards but have plated blades. It looks too shiny, unevenly smooth(bubbles) and unrealistic but the good side is a very nice scabbard. Some of these have nice engravings on the scabbard and pommel, others with texture like leather. I saw only one of these in Japan at the Volks Shinjuku Showroom. It was on display with a DD and it looked great. The store keeper proudly said it's not for sale and difficult to find. I got the last laugh as its found easily over here. Well I'll be getting the ones with scabbards next week. I'll take photos of them and you can check out the differences. :)

    15. Yes, photos would be great! :)

    16. I have a couple of swords with scabbards left. :P do people want pics?

    17. yes Please!!

    18. Yes please!!

    19. Hey gordyguy

Forgive me if this is rude but is the shop you buy your swords from caesars gun gallery? I collect a few miniatures myself but have never had the opportunity to test them size wise against any bjds. The miniatures I collect are about 11inches in length and more or less to scale.. (considering..)

If it is in any way unethical to disclose the name of the shop, please let me know and I will delete this post accordingly. Thanks in advance. :sweat

    20. That's the place.
