@IzabethS I see, so this must be their new formula. My Dan Taiye even has a tiny scratch mark (or is it called marbling?) on his forehead, which I hope I can hide with enough blushing when I do his face-up. Now that I think about it, it's not really a big deal and it can be hidden by clothes, but I hope the company gets rid of the issue in the future.

 

Hmm, I'd contact them. I didn't have that experience and got my doll recently (I got NS resin).

 

Would anyone happen to be able to compare TD's white resin to just about any other company's? I'm considering a TDxDF-H hybrid, and while DF-H can custom cast to color specs, it'd be a lot easier for me to make a decision if I can see how their WS compares to other resins >w<

Yup. I'm the first owner They both are from May 2020. The photo was taken shorty after I got the body and the head, so there's no age yellowing.

 

Not an amazing picture, but I finally got my long tianqi's correct eyes in and paint mods done (horns dyed gray/painted, hands painted black, painted and glossed his lips).

 

He look amazing, much better looking than he does in the official pictures


Just ordered "Rong You" from Alice's Collections. In normal pink, with faceup, and with the wig and outfit

For some reason I can not access either Telesthesia & Dragon or Iplehouse's site And had no other way but order him through some other place. I have no idea how long I'll have to wait for my order, but at least I got him ordered.


I've gotten really into Chinese BL drama, currently The Untamed and Word of Honor. It made me really want my own characters inspired by ancient Chinese drama. I rarely fall for a doll the moment I see it like I did with Rong You, So I took whatever money I had saved up in my doll funds and ordered him

 

Oh no, really?! I just ordered Rong You in normal pink. It will still be long before I get him home but he's already my precious treasure

But since he's going to stay in his original outfit and wig, I will most likely keep him on his stand. I don't want him to get scratched

I’m actually not sure if these are scratches or just resin marbling but they are tiny and not really visible unless you look close. I couldn’t scrub them off with a magic sponge so I decided to leave it alone.

 

That's pretty common on dolls IMO, I think it's either a transfer from the mold (like one part is really shiny and the rest is more matte), or it's mold release that doesn't wanna come off. I think most of my dolls have come with that on their body somewhere >w<.
If it bothers you you could try a fine grit (like 600 or 800 probably? maybe even 1000~ish) sandpaper to just buff it out to a more matte finish. Be sure to wear PPE!

I love the Mo Dao Zhi Shi anime (you probably know this, but The Untamed is based on the same novel) -- I'm so sad they're only doing three seasons.

 

He looks absolutely stunning! I desperately need to take new pics of my own since he looks so different from yours.

 

Thanks, been so long since I've had a BJD order so this one feels extra special I'll try be super careful with him. I've been pretty lucky with all my dolls so far, only experienced once a scratch on one dolls head and one large doll who chipped quite a bit behind his single-jointed knees. But my first doll back in 2008 got scratches all down his tighs from wearing shorts and sitting outside on a concrete stair. A newbie mistake.

Ok, I see I think even if mine later got some visible damage I could work it into his character as he'll be like a mix between Wei Wuxian and Lan Wangji from Mo Dao Zu Shi/ The Untamed.

I've actually just gotten into Chineese ancient bl dramas. I started with The Untamed, finished watching it in a couple of days, and have now started watching Word of Honor. Yes I know it's based on the novel, but I haven't gotten as far as to watch the donghua yet. Just mentioning, I learned not so long ago that Chineese animation, anime is called "donghua". I called it anime and somebody on Reddit corrected me. They also told me Chineese Manga is called "Manhua"

Haha yes Rong You does look sweet, but he also gives me a bit of Wei Wuxian/ Lan Wangji vibes. He have this coldness to him with that stare of his. But he also looks like he can turn silly and playful

Ooooh, very nice idea for him! I would love to have a doll with a cool ponytail like they have in the show for Wei Wuxian. Do you want to keep the wig the doll comes with? Ah yes, I always just call it an anime because I can never remember how to spell donghua.

 

I will keep the hair as it is, most likely. I just fell for the doll exactly as he is in the official pictures I don't know what name to give him, but I do know his personality. Usually he's a bit cold in personality like Lan, very serious about his work. But he does have a funnier and more sweet side to him as well. Oh, wait, that sounded more like Wang Yibo So serious, but lights up like a lightbulb when with Xiao Zhan But he definitely have a bit of the Wei Wuxian personality in him as well. Don't mind if I just repeated myself XD

Haha, yes it's so easy to just call everything anime and manga, did that too. But I'm glad that person on Reddit teached me what it's called. I'm still such a newbie so I get confused when I watch The Untamed fan made content. BTS, GG, DD Zhan-Ge, Bo-Di... I have no idea what people are talking about

I've just set up a layaway for Di Jun beast version with ACBJD. I've ordered him in dark tan since pictures i've seen of light tan seem a bit pale? I'm wondering if anyone else has pictures of telethesia dolls in the newer dark tan so I can get a better feel for how he'll look? Thanks!
