100% Permanent Face-Ups and Body Blushing?

Oct 2, 2009

    1. It would be nice if it were an option whether or not to have the faceup or body blush pernament.

    2. no no no no no please..
i feel terrible even if a spot of face-up that is hard to remove :(

    3. I'd like to have an option for perma faceup *w* Like some of you said, there are so many other options to customize your doll to have unique look. I'm actually looking forward to making clothes and maybe cut some wigs (:o). But faceup is not really something i feel good at (when it comes to miniature faces xD), so i'm scared of touching the pretty face, cause i'm sure i'd spoil it D:

    4. If it was for one of my favorite dolls, yeah, I'd consider it. I've had some of my dolls for about 5 years now, and I love their faceups, I never will change them. So I'd be very happy if they were permanent!

    5. Since I'm both new to all this and not the best artist in the room, yeah, I'd looooove it if the gorgeous face ups my dolls have right now would last forever. I'd pay more for that, even, if it were possible.

    6. I want something like this to seal on dye jobs. I think I'd like to dye some of my dolls different shades of tan, so I'd like a spray on matte sealant that won't come off with Windsor and Newton. That way, I'd be able to change the face-up and blushing over the dye and not worry about having to re-dye the whole doll.

I've been looking at that Minwax stuff- I'm wondering what specific one works best?

    7. I would prefer face-up to be permanent for sure! I am so afraid to spoil it.

    8. I think it sounds more appealing with body blushing, because that's not something that would be very obvious and ruin their character.

    9. I don't think I would do this to any of my babies. I mean, even if I am not going to resell them or anything like that I would become bored with looking at the same face-up each and every day for the rest of my life. One of the main reasons I got into this hobby is that is not just dolls you go out and buy. They are, to me, 3D canvases that needs to be changed every once in a while.

With the antro thing.. I am not sure I would make a permanent bodyblushing here either.. Even if the sculpt is supposed to be a specific kind of animal I would like to give it a more personal touch.

    10. Commenting again:sweat:lol:

Still unchanged about the permanent face-up. I LOVE:fangirl: the default face-up that Emma came with. I have no interest in changing it to something darker, or anything.

There's got to be a way to make them permanent.:o

    11. I am interested, too, but at this point I am starting to think only Sharpie can do it, and I don't want to do do Sharpie :/

    12. No! I'm interested in changing my doll's style)

    13. Hmm... I don't think I'd do it to my doll, but I'm sure there are tons of people who would buy a doll with said treatment because that's a look they would want/like

    14. I like some dolls as they are. I would not want to change them perfect makeup.

In addition, owners of the dolls will no longer be afraid when someone unknowingly touches the doll face.

    15. hmmm...
no, i choose the doll as they are. they seem like human, i'd prefer just the way they are

    16. If there was a way to be able to touch BJD faces and handle them without rubbing off the faceup, and yet still be able to easily take it off, the world would be just perfect.

Maybe something thin and plastic that you stick to doll faces; designed by the computer? The possibilities...

    17. If I had a Gentaro Araki painted Unoa faceplate, I would want it to last forever :)
I would buy a doll that was a challenge to re-do if I was confident the fine details of the sculpt itself would be intact despite the removal. The only thing of this sort I have seen that would really deter me from buying would be some of the scarring I have seen carved into the resin itself. It is striking for a character though and I like to SEE them, and love the idea of someone taking their custom that far even though I probably never would.
I would not make one I did permanent or sealed more than normal just because I do like to change them. I do, however, sometimes do a basic neutral look and seal it well and then 'make up' the doll with pastels and then wipe it as it fades, unsealed--that's fun!

    18. Double opinion xD

I have two limiteds with gorgeous faceups. If it would be possible to keep those for eternity it would be amazing <3

Though with my other dolls, I would never even think about the permanent faceups. I do theirs myself and love doing that, changes their style and expression etx ^^

    19. If done WELL, I'd love perma-body blushing.

    20. I don't know about PERMANENT, but I do wish the face-ups weren't so damage-prone. I have four dolls, three with custom faces and one with a company default and I don't really like the prospect of damaging them because the face-ups are PERFECT for the characters. I would, however, be interested in permanent blushing on the body, especially if you had something awesome like tattoos, or scarring, or in some cases very well done and detailed chest hair of the guys. Things like that would be hard to constantly have to do over again and would be nice to have those done permanently.
