2020 Doll Plans

Of course, as always, this will change multiple times before the end of 2020, but for now:

buy ALM doll 60cm boy body and DF-H hands for Sixx
send said body and hands out for modifications
-order AoD Zixi
-maybe get a Volks SD10 boy
-make clothes for Harriet
-shop for clothes for everybody
-If we finally move, rebuild my doll dioramas!

 

My current plans for 2020 are:
Commission face ups for a couple of my current dolls.
Get wigs, eyes, clothes for my goddesses Athena and Aphrodite.
Get an SDGr Girl Body for Athena.
Get some of my fantasy doll parts and hands blushed
Shell and Buy my dark elf girl and the other goddesses if possible.
It’s a lot but I hope to get as much done as possible this year.

 

A more complete list of what I need to do:

1. Thranduil (Lee Pace) - proper clothing at last...
2. Legolas - Face up, ear mods, clothes.
5. “Harry” (Harrison Ford) - Fixes for scratches & messed up blush (because he gets carried around a lot!)

The Ridge (my) Characters:
2. Emilio AKA 'Rocketboy' - Change body from Mirodoll, which is unposeable & too tall.
4. Saskia - Remove horns (she shouldn’t really have them), new body ( not Mirodoll!)
7. Ciro - new face up (I’m not happy with it), sueding/hot glueing.

These guys are on order but have arrival dates:
8. Gaizka - Face up, clothes, make wings! [ETA...? Who knows? Dollshe!]
9. Aristeo- Dye body, faceup & wig, new clothes. [ETA Novemver]
10. Ramiro - faceup, wig, clothes. [head ETA January, body ETA by March]

Floating heads:
i) Jasira - Body!

 

My goal is to take more pictures of my dolls, buy less doll clothes and do less impulse shopping, try to sell off more things that aren’t suitable for my dolls. Last but not least, resist the temptation to get more dolls XD

 

After I pay off my current layaways (SmD Suzaku and DD Snow Miku) i'm going to do my best to avoid buying new dolls. I just don't have a ton of space right now and I absolutely need to be more financially responsible. However, I -might- go for a Minifee if I find one for the right price.
I do work a lot on clothing right now, but i'd like to learn wig-making and also learn to do faceups and such. But again, space...

 

I had to check my list in the 2019's thread before deciding to post here because I couldn't even remember what my purposes were back then xD It seems I managed to do a couple of the things I had planned and I’m pretty proud of myself for it. Fortunately, there’s still a bit of time left in the year to try and do the ones that were left behind.

Looking forward to 2020, I want to keep it simple and clean just like last year so I get to accomplish something xD

• Keep working on my current dolls (stories, wardrobe, etc.).
• Take more photos, not even photostories, just photos, even crappy phone ones, but do it!

 

So far my plans for 2020 are to keep saving for Volks' Rozen Maiden dolls, maybe finish off my Hamlet cast, maybe finish off my lost boys... I want to get better at faceups for sure, plus I need to curate more outfits. Whether I'll sew them or just buy them all remains to be seen, LOL.

The big thing I wanted to do this year, but there's a good chance it'll be delayed until next year, is learn how to make doll shoes. I've found so many little etsy shops that sell doll-sized notions, so the idea really excites me!

Actually, I'd like to work on my photography skills, too... How exciting! 2020 is going to be a fun, busy year!

 

Ooh, fun thread! Everyone has such cool goals so far. I think I’ll be keeping an eye on this thread to see what else I can be working on. I feel like this hobby has so much to it, and I just keep on learning about new things all the time.

One of my main 2020 plans is to downsize my collection. I have a couple of dolls I impulse bought, and I’m still feeling so-so on them. I figure if I haven’t changed my mind by 2020, it’s time to sell them. I’m so good about not impulse buying things...until I see things in person. /sigh I’m thankful I’m in a position where this isn’t a financial situation so much as a just a frustration with not LOVING every doll situation.

I definitely want to keep working on the dolls I already have. I just purchased a Humpty-Dumpty from Soom, which I am ridiculously excited about. I have so many ideas. It’s going to be a challenge with the clothing, but I am ready!

One of the big things that’s happening this year for me is that I’m opening up a store for my doll eyes (I had my light box break on me, though, so I kind of need to fix that issue so I can actually photograph products- of all things!!). My eyes do well at in-person sales and swaps, and I have experience running Etsy stores and other online stores. I’m still a bit nervous, though. I suppose if my 2019 plan was to start selling, my 2020 plan will be to start selling CONFIDENTLY. XD

 

My big ones are getting a better body for my Maya and then figuring out backdrops/room boxes for my boys so I might actually be able to take some nice photos of the others too. I don't typically share much because my phone's camera is so terrible.

Also maybe trying to work through the anxiety about sharing, too. I got into this partially because I wanted to show off but immediately clammed up when given the chance to hahaha ;;;

 

My BIG BIG goal for 2020 is to finish my amateur homemade BJD and home cast him. I was really wanting to do a junk cast of his head before the end of the year, but at the speed I'm moving I might be rolling over into 2020.

Collection wise, I've accumulated a lot of blank dolls who need faceups, so they're priority. I also have been wanting to go back and wipe old faceups and redo them for a while.

I definitely don't want to plan on buying any more dolls, but my tentative "to buy"/"wishlist" for 2020 is the DikaDoll 62cm boy body, since I've recently sort of fallen for it. I have no plans for it right now, but I figure in the not-too-distant future... I'll keep it in mind.

 

My first priority is working on the dolls I already have: getting them clothes, wigs and eyes, and in couple of instances, bodies to stop the floating heads from multiplying (that's at least one 60 cm ballerina body and 65 cm girl body from Supia). Also buy another display cabinet since between me and my fiancée there are quite a few dolls in this house.

And if I have any leftover funds I can in good conscience splurge in dolls, I'll just try to follow my wishlist and not impulse purchase any random heads, haha. Zaoll Luv, Universedoll De'Ath skull head (only head, I'm going to get it a girl body) and Dream Valley Thorn have priority in doll purchases, I think, unless a Juri 2011 head pops up with a sensible price tag, haha.

 

Ha! I was mentally reviewing my wants and needs while reading and then I came across this comment. YES!! 1.) BUY DOLL STANDS! I so need to do this. This is a priority! All my dolls are sitting on their butts and I really want them standing and interacting with each other.

2.) Wardrobes top the list after doll stands. I really want to get some theme appropriate clothing for the girls. This might entail me actually pulling out my sewing machine.
3.) I am waiting for SartoriaJ to release their lady body so I can decide what to do with my one of my two floating heads. Also waiting for another Somnia doll A-series release so I can get a body for my other floating head Aelita (she's so cute!!)
4.) I really really really want a Rainman Blina.......
5.) And of course finish paying off the 3 layaways I currently have running.!

I think that lots to work on!

 

Finally practicing 3D sculpting to make myself some busts for my floating head collection!

 

Soo I brought home lots of bodies in 2019! All of my girls have a body that I’m quite happy with now. Here’s what I’m definitely planning for 2020:

• Buy two of the following bodies: Hummingdolly 65cm, Volks SD17, April Story 66cm, or Minifee A-line. One of these is not like the other. XD The goal is no more floating heads!
• Get face-ups for Migidoll Han and Oasisdoll Natalie (twins), Rosettadoll Zio, and Edelweiss Gideon
• Sell some heads and dolls
• Find shoes for my SID boy
• Taobao order for SD17 clothes and shoes
• Doll profiles!
• Practice photography

I’m kind of tentative about the following because I don’t really need more dolls (lol):

• Bring home a light tan Migidoll Nova. I love Nova and I’ve been wanting a tan boy!
• Research tiny dolls – I’m smitten with Honey Delf Yeondu.

 

- FINALLY make Sigrud's outfit
- Finish making Silas' armor
- Get final outfit for circus girls

- Finish up Dream Valley dolls which won't arrive till new year anyway

And then buy:

- Body for incoming Choma head
- Doll Leaves Augus, Jeremy
- Doll Chataeu Hugh
- Gem of Doll Sofier
- Luts Muhwa
- Twins (havn't decided on sculpts)

 

I'd like to get a BJD cat of some kind to go with my group. Maybe minimalize extras/accessories. Maybe downsize one or two dolls. I'm pretty happy with how everybody is right now, though.

 

My goals are to not go insane waiting for dollshe!
And on the side I really hope to start practicing faceups on my current collection.
I want to try and change up my loongsoul guy since I’ve lost some of my interest.
And buy doll stands! Everyone just hangs out on my shelves currently.

I’d like to buy a Luts body for a floating head and try to work on a wig and clothing for my lovecraft inspired doll.

I hope to practice making jewelry as well.

 

I seriously hope i dont buy any new ones, but i do plan to see if everyone works out and work on all of them. i have one not shipped yet, and i would like to go through all of their things to see if there is anything i can part with.... i would like to work on my crew, which also means possible jointed hands. i do want to try out more photography with my girl and boys.

Also i would like to find them another spot i can stand or sit them in... i have an idea..so we shall see. I would also like to work more on character development and stories too (in RP or outside of that)

if i can somehow do something for my dolls craft wise, im all for it,... but i dont know if that will happen quite yet.

who am i kidding... i will probably buy 1 new doll.....size unknown though if i can find the Kdoll head i want, then.... well its instant buy if its 2019 or 2020 lol.

I'm restarting my collection now that I've sold off my old dolls. I'm hoping to buy a Peak's Woods FOC Mimi Crow in Suntan when they have that resin choice available next and if I am disciplined enough, I'll be focusing on her .

 

My 2020 plan is:
-face-up practicing
-new dolls!
I think face-up is more important than clothes and other accessories, so I need to practice harder next year~
And I am looking forward to purchase some dolls from volks this year~
