2020 Doll Plans

My three plans. These might actually end up being my only dolls. I just want a fun stylized boy to play with, and then a pair that I can set in fantastical romances as I do with almost everything. These are the concept layouts I have thusfar.

Working name: Yayoi-kun
Pure white skin, only black sketch faceup. Custom low-dome animetic eyes. Dollzone b27-005 or 001 body, possibly resinsoul 1/6 male body. Swap out hands and feet. Head currently being designed as Dollzone Miyou.


The Priest and the Witch
Working names: Alain and Casimir
Fashion maxi Dollshe bodies 18m and 24m respectively. Aiming for pose+ models.
Alain: Arsene or Saint, Fresh skin
Casimir: Grant Philippe (Possibly an Iplehouse head, looking at options), Copper oriental or something darker in Honey
Seeing as I'm getting small dolls for all three of my boys, their clothes are probably going to be custom pieces... THAT'S going to be fun (sarcasm)

 

@ashbelEro I love your concepts for your dolls, what a pretty style!!! Yayoi is super cute! I'm biased for both of those DZ yosd bodies, but those dollshe bodies have quite beautiful sculpting too!

I really like your ideas! Did you do the drawings yourself? The drawings are fantastic I'm planning on buying more Gem of Doll and Myou girls, I have fallen in love with Gem of Doll and Myou, they do such beautiful dolls

 

Dare I say it, I'm not going to buy another doll! This year I'm going to focus on making my collection look great. I especially want to get better at making clothes!

This is going to be super hard though ugh...

 

I had way more goals for 2019 than 2020, but I did a pretty good job at following them so here we go!

- Sell my Resinsoul Nian?
- Face-up for my Zuzu Delf Persi, Slight (Whenever she decides to finally show up...) DONE
- Face-up for my Lana Isaeva Dolls Jackalope, Corvid
- Buy Withdoll Snow Fox Lena, Cross (By November 11th) SCRAPPED
- Face-up for Withdoll Snow Fox Lena, Cross SCRAPPED
- MAYBE buy a SyntheticEphemera Pumpkee if the opportunity arises
- Face-up and clothe Resinsoul Twilight centaur, Asche, when she arrives
- DON'T BUY ANY MORE DOLLS BESIDES THAT

 

My 2020 plan is:

• manage to buy distant memory hwayoung
• sell my dr-ba
• organize all the accessories
  
• learn modeling software, 3D print my own work
  
• practice photography

 

I just started a layaway for Miadoll Ginger, she likely be here in Jan or Feb! 2020 i hope to finally order a Luts Smile Hanael,she is a limited time sale, hopefully they have event that gives out free head like before.

 

My plans are:

• stop buying too many dolls and paying too many layaways at once!

• finish some dolls & heads which are waiting too long for faceup & blushing

• trying to get the idea of buying a 4th Dollmore Trinity out of my head
• trying to persuade my husband to allow a 4th Dollmore Trinity
• trying to find free space for a 4th Trinity

 

For 2020, I plan to focus more on creating more accessories for my dolls and learning how to pose and style them for more interesting photography. I have Photoshop and photo editing skills, but I've not utilized them much for my photographs so that is something else I'd like to take on. I'm thankful that my first year in the BJD hobby went smoothly. I adopted 3 dolls this year and sold one. The remaining two have lovingly and generously been donated a plethora of wardrobe pieces and shoes, so technically I don't need to buy any new outfits for them. (But, I am sure I will, here and there). So lets see, what's the official plan? *thinks*

I do have 3-4 dolls that I'd like to purchase for my characters, now that I have the sculpts figured out, but more importantly I need to save money. I've came across some great second-hand options for these characters as well at affordable options, but I didn't have the money on hand so I had to pass it up (which sucks so badly!) By building up my savings again, I can be ready for any good opportunities that come up.

 

I have a looot of doll plans for 2020. In no particular order;

• Get at least three dolls that are on my wishlist (subject to change, this is according to my current budget). Priority is an Iplehouse FID Rex to shell one of my current favourite OCs, Captain Davies. Trouble with that is that I think I'm going to have to reshell Clara to fit with him better, which changes up my plans some. Furthermore, considering one of the dolls on my wishlist for next year doesn't have the option for a faceup, I'll also have to try my hand at faceups, which I'm soooo nervous about.
• Make a diorama for my dolls. This will likely just be a living room and bedroom, but I might be moving next year, in which case I'll have a lot more space. If that's the case, then I'll be making a full-scale dollhouse, which is super exciting for me! That's going to be a massive project, though. One I look forward to!
• Finish Clara up with a proper wig, a few outfits, and new eyes. Poor girl really needs them.
• This is sort of tied to the last one, but I want to get a new sewing machine (my 30-year-old inherited one finally kicked the dust recently) so I can improve my sewing skills. I'd like to make all my own doll clothes rather than buy them (doll clothes are so expensive!). I'd also like to improve my wig making skills and try out making doll shoes. I want all my dolls to have the full wardrobe, including socks and underwear, as well as a few different outfits depending on the season. No cold heads in winter!

I'm going to be really busy! It's good for me, though, as I'm coming out of a funk where I wasn't able to accomplish anything. Working with my hands helps my mental health a lot.

 

Mostly paying layaways and working with the dolls I have. I have some hybrids I've been lazy about putting together and I went INSANE when DC re-released Xaviera and put TWO on layaway for basically forever at BJDivas.... I have a head in coming and a body and another body! And then when they heads and bodies get here i have to put them together and i haven't even put together the last heads with their bodies that I got face-upped. I've been depressed this year and a lot has fallen by the wayside and I hope maybe I can do some more this year. Take pics, get my hybrids together. Maybe play dress-up! I don't know!

Here is mine:

• finally muster up the courage to do my first face-up for my first doll. She arrived in august and she's been faceless ever since. I'm way more intimidated by the idea of doing her face-up than I thought I'd be
• make at least two decent (as decent as my limited skills will allow) outfits for her. I just started learning how to sew, so I want to practice that more
• get her some shoes
• buy another MSD doll (my first needs a friend)
• buy an SD doll
• get them eyes and wigs and get their face-ups and outfits done before 2021!
• take photos

 

I'm not really sure what to plan for in 2020 as I'm currently in a bit of a rut. I guess I can try and put up some goals for myself.

★ Decide whether I'm going to keep investing in tiny dolls (~15cm and under) or move on to larger sizes in 2020.
★ Give my blank MDD a face-up.
★ Make some eyes for MDD (and donate some to the boyfriend).
★ Try to make a wig - start small and work my way up.
★ Learn how to sew - start small and work my way up. (Undies, T-shirt, ...)
★ Decide on a YOSD to finish.
★ Carry a doll to work daily to easy my anxiety.
★ ...

This list will probably be changed periodically but for now it's a start.

 

In 2020 I want to:
-Work on my doll photography skills.
-Get Faceups for my minifee celine, minifee luka, FeePle60 event head, FeePle60 Cygne, mini Kamu and Nanuri 14.
- Get bodies for all my dolls
-Try and reduce my BJD wish list (and maybe collection)
-Mod my minifee Shushu head
-Try dying a doll to tan or something

 

I’m hoping to finish the doll I’m sculpting, Amara, in 2020! I have the body done, but I’m not happy with her face, and cutting and figuring out the joints is frankly kind of terrifying.

I’ve been in the market for a mermaid doll for a while, but I haven’t seen one that’s in my price point and matches my aesthetics. I hope to change that in 2020, but we’ll see. I also want to shell a Naga character, but the options for a mature naga are limited; I may end up sculpting my own tail for another doll’s body.

Finally, I want to make a dollhouse! And also doll stands. Scale is tricky, but I’ll work something out.

 

I'm planning to get two new dolls on layaway! Or at least one full doll and one head as I got a lonely body left in my closet. Also want to improve my FU skills!! >\\< And work on my dolls stories :3 Can't wait for 2020! ♡

 

I want to focus next year on the dolls I own. Most of them aren`t finished.
But I really want another YoSD in tan to fit one of my characters and there are some Volks YoSDs I have to get (White Rabbit, Dai/Mako and Kanon are pretty high on my wishlist. Tenshi Una too, but she is so expensive)

 

So far for 2020 the plan is hopefully getting my doll from Volks since the release date got pushed to next year ;o;
Then just enjoying all my others dolls, maybe recreate some old photos that lack current faceups.
