    1. Thanks Felicity! I'm loving the tan skin, too.

      My first attempt at a faceup didn't turn out so well. The pastels were too light and I'm still getting the hang of spraying evenly. That's ok though! I just wiped it off and will start again! :) After all, practice makes perfect.

    2. Does anyone have the new Suntan color after they changed from the environmental resin in July? If so, how do you like it? Can you maybe post a few pics?

    3. I have a question about the mini bodies: the new body has a two part torso, the old a 3part. On the site is states somewhere that it is 'much improved' - is that true? Which body do you like better and why?

    4. I have the old type B and not the new type C, but the measurements between the 2 bodies seem to be exactly the same. The only difference that I can see is that the type C doesn't have the extra waist and leg joints that the type B does. I guess it's an aesthetics question, do you want the one the looks more pleasing to the eye or the one with more joints? Or maybe they look the same to you?

      If anybody knows anything else, feel free to jump in.

    5. Is there a difference in the posing? Can they sitt as well? I mean both straight up, on a chair without support for the back and cross legged?

    7. The wig size number actually refers to inches in size so an inch to one company is an inch to another and it is regulated. The difference is that some companies have stretchier wigs than others. I have noticed that 5star doll heads are much smaller than most MSD heads. They fit size 6-7 best. Their heads are even smaller than ResinSoul/BBB heads and those fit 6-7 just barely if there is enough stretch. (Monique wigs are quite stretchy!)

      On a side note, I just got my grey Nigel and White Yoka! So cute.

      I'm kind of torn between a tan Chu boy and a RS Wu in dark tan for one of my future boys. To be honest I'm leaning more towards Chu if only because I already own a 5SD and know how wonderful their dolls are. Either way, I love seeing more 5Star dolls around!

    9. Ah! Not to hijack the thread but I have a Dark Tan Wu! I loooove RS dolls. Their quality is actually in my opinion a little better than 5star but that's just me. I will say that their girl bodies are a bit shorter and slimmer than 5star girl bodies but I can't compare boy bodies just yet since my Wu is in pieces. Pls check out the RS/BBB thread.

      However, even given the slight size difference, 5star dolls do look good next to RS/BBB dolls. When I am ready (ie my guys have faceups) I will take a picture of some 5star dolls next to my RS Light Tan Li who is the only RS doll I have strung together at this moment.

      EDIT: I dare say also that you might be spoiled by your Minifee when she gets to you lol. Although I got a chicline before I got my RS dolls and I still love my RS dolls.

    10. This is really helpful, thank you, Invie! :D It's tough to find tan mini sized boys with a long strong nose, full lips and a soulful expression. I'd be really interested to see your comparison photo between the 5 Star and RS minis <3

      And LOL I'm sure I'll be spoiled by my MNF when she arrives, but I'm sunk when it comes to tan where Fairyland is concerned. And besides that, I do enjoy the idea of having several different body types among my main dolly crew when all is said and done :)

    11. All right I don't have pics yet but I officially love the 5 star body now. There are issues, don't get me wrong but this girl (and boy I have both but I've only played with my Yoka) can get into some amazing slouchy poses......and she stands in them no problem.

      The one issue I have met with them is that the knee joint isn't the best. She can sit just fine but she doesn't naturally fall into a kneeling position since her leg barely bends past 90 degrees. The boy knees are actually a little tiny bit better.

      That's not a deal breaker tho lol. The Elbows aren't the greatest either but the torso and neck mobility are amazing as are the wrists.

      I would prefer they had larger hands since the wrists are sooo big but thats the only aesthetic issue I have with the bodies. The chest is very nicely sculpted and I wished they offered different sizes.

      Alright I'll do a comparison with RS double jointed bodies this weekend. Sorry for the wait.

      EDIT: Aesthetically RS is much prettier IMHO. Just the details and the lines are so smooth and gentle but detailed. However in terms of posing, 5star beats RS hands down. (I am reviewing the B type body.)

    12. I am waiting on my Tan Chu girl, and I have a light tan Wu, and a few Minifees. I think we have the same taste, LOL.

      Invie, I love RS dolls too, but I put a boy and girl 5SD on layaway and can't wait to see your comparison. I love the RS sculpts and their cost is really reasonable. I hope the 5SD are just as good.

      I will be able to do my own comparison between tans from Dollzone, 5SD and RS when I get my order in. I pay my last layaway payment in January, and hopefully the wait won't be too long after that.

      It really is frustrating that there aren't many owner photos of most of the 5SD Mini sculpts, especially in the new non-translucent resin. I think the quality of 5SD's production photos of the minis do not do them justice and might put people off :/ I still really want to see some photos of current resin Lydia too. I asked 5SD if they had any and they said no :B

      ETA: Neela there are some cute photos of someone's Chu on Flickr :D
