1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

5StarDoll Minis discussion part 1

Aug 8, 2009

    1. HI goldie. Are you using flickr? If so it is actually a little bit of a hassle but you have to right click on the image in photoshop and pick a size to view. It takes you to a page where you can choose the image size depending on how big your image is. RIght click again on that and do copy image url. That's the image url you should use here.

Ah and yes I do have an illustration degree ^___^.

EDIT: Yes it's a hassle but I still like flickr...and I did follow the link to your flickr! Your Ji is very cute!

    2. Hi Invie. Someone from the PW post also listed instructions and so I have posted my first pic. Your version sounds a bit easier and I will try that and post a pic of Ji here for others to see, too. Oh, and thank you for the lovely comment on my Goldie! My first one, too. And I'm glad you think my Ji is cute, too. I guess it's not bad for my second face up. Hopefully, I will be better on Emma with all the great info you gave me. So here goes for a pic of Ji.

Have a great day and take care

    3. Ooooh! I'm glad you figured out how to post pictures. You have an emma then? Which skintone? I had a Emma in Pink skin once and it's a very nice pale pinkish color. I'm interested to see what she looks like in other skintones.

    4. Man, everyone else's Ji's look so cute and innocent. Mine just looks like she wants to mess me up half the time, but I guess that look makes more sense with her character.

    5. Lol, Snow do you have pics of your girl? I always like seeing how dolls take on different personalities depending on the customization.

    6. I do have some but I might not be able to get them up till Monday because I am going home tomorrow right after my physics exam and then to my Grammies and her eleven year old computer finally kicked the bucket. I honestly think she looks different because I use 14s in her instead of 16s and she has anmuch shorter wig than the others.

    7. Hi Invie, I'm sorry to disappoint you, but my Emma is a pink skin. I got Emma in pink and Ji in yellow. Just to try both colors.

Hi Snow, glad to see you back here! Looking forward to pics of your Ji, too. Oh, dear are they supposed to have 16mm eyes? I used what DDE sent with the dolls so to find out what size to buy I checked them out on MOC. And I bought size 14 eyes yesterday. I hope they will look good. Gigi has sort of strong blue eyes now and so I got her a light blue instead. And one more human looking with the variegated color instead of a solid like she has. Well, I guess I will see when they get here! But do you think that would make one doll look innocent and another one look like she messes people up? Very interested in seeing your girl now and what the differences are! Not that I wouldn't want to see her anyway. Hope you have a great time with your family.

Have a wonderful weekend and take care.

    8. Size 14 should work fine, she will just look a bit older. At least the pair I have her in does, thers no gap or anythingthough. And thank you, hopefully we have better weather soon so I can get good pictures without flash.

    9. I used 16mm but i think 14mm should be fine too. Usually with most dolls you can use two different sizes or more depending on the eyewell and sculpt.

I'm not disappointed Goldie. I would still like to see your Emma. I hope the advice helps with the blushing :)

    10. Hi Snow. Hmm, I wonder if she will look more her age and less like a little girl with the 14mm eyes. Hopefully, I will find out soon. And I can always buy her more. I got a pair of 12mm, too. More for Tacy and maybe for my fashion doll. And Emma will still need some eyes, too. I hope you have better weather just because! But if you take pics without a flash, then do you take your doll outside in the sun? I thought we aren't supposed to get any sunlight near them? I put Goldie in her box every night to keep the sun off of her. And the 5 Stars have a space in the cabinet that used to be for dishes. Just enough room for the two chairs and Tacy standng between them. Though while Emma is face less Tacy gets to sit in the second chair.

Hi Invie. I guess I should try some 16mm, too. There were two sizes listed at MOC, just not 16s. They listed 12 and 14 sizes. And since I am new I couldn't tell from looking at the ones sent by DDE.

I'm glad you aren't disappointed. You can see my Emma when is stops raining and I can spray her! But tomorrow while it is raining I need to do the clean up you suggested after the Mr. Clean eraser. Then I can spray her when it isn't raining and then work on her face. Last week we had snow so I am not expecting much for this week. But hopefully soon. I am sure your advice will help with her blushing and everything else, too. I think I will reread it all tomorrow, too. Just to set it in my head.

Have a great rest of weekend and take care.

    11. My Elva came with 14mm, but they're huuuuuge on her. I use 12mm and I think they look really good!

As for clothes, slim mini stuff doesn't fit, especially since these minis are generally taller than most other minis. I have some Volks clothes that actually fit pretty well, and I bought some 15$ K2 jeans from MintOnCard that fit like a dream on my girl at least. Guessdoll stuff fits a lot of the bigger minis as well.

    12. I gotta say, that wig is lovely on her!

    13. Thank you Knight Jeran for the lovely pic and great info. I did get a guess doll outfit for my girls and it fit fine except the collar was tight and just snapped. But she looks cute in it. I ordered some things from Alice's Collection and hope they will be here soon. Oh, and I got a nice pair of plum cords, but I was able to try them first so I knew they fit. I didn't think to ask where she got them from. But it was at my meet up so I can always ask later this month if anyone wants to know. First I should take a pic of them on my girl so you can see how they fit. But that needs the nice sweater from AC that isn't here yet. So more later.

Have a great day and take care.

    15. Hi Leylah, your Daniel makes a very nice girl. As the Daniel face is a new one, your doll must be new, too. I like her dress and wig, too. Hope we will see you here again.

OK, Snow it's Monday. I'm waiting for pics of your Ji. Hope you had a great weekend with your family.

Have a nice day and take care

    16. Goldie

Thank you very much:) She came to me on January 6 this year. I named her Josephine. Of course it will show more photos.

    17. I was able to get the pictures this weekend. I just need to wait for my mom to get home so I can borrow her laptop and get the pictures up.

    18. Hi Leylah, and you are welcome. Oh, so today is her two months birthday, hmm? She is adorable and I'm glad you will be posting more, too.

Hi Snow, hope your mom is home soon. Can't wait to see your Ji.

      Have a nice day everyone.

    19. Sorry, one of our cats decided that yesterday would be a lovely day to attempt to commit hamstercide so what would have been my time on the computer was spejt dealing with that. She did leave her laptop here but it looks like they changed the password on me. I will have the pictures posted tkday by 5 if there are no more issues. It looks like the hamster will be fine btw.

Edit: Here she is! Her face up will be fixed this summer when more places are open and I need to work on her wig a bit when I get back to school.

    20. Hi Snow. I like your Ji and she doesn't look mean or into messing things up. At least to me she doesn't. Is her face up by 5 Star? Your Ji and Invie's Ji have similar coloring. Mine is very pink, even though I mixed peach in with the pink chalk. I guess I should have used a bit more. Looked fine on the back of her head! Well, I still have Emma to do and I can explore colors more before I do her face up.

      Have a great day!
