Congrats Ellie! So glad you found an Alyssa! She’s such a cute doll.

5Star was one of my favorite companies. I have an Edmund and Tumnus, but I was totally addicted to their tinies. I’m really sad they are gone.

5STAR IS BACK!

For some reason, I went to visit the old 5Star site, and it appears to be back. Here is the notice that was posted in “News”. (See attached link)

I don’t know for how long 5Star will be back, but there are two (2) 1/4 girls left in stock if anyone is interested.

 

sorry I should have made it clearer now that I look at it. I’m not sure if they’re back either I was kinda under the impression that they’re getting rid of whatever stock they have slowly and than they’re done.

also anyone who bought from them recently how long did it take for them to ship out? I kinda thought since it was in stock it would ship out pretty quickly. I ordered in the beginning of the month. I sent them an email about three days ago and I haven’t heard anything back

 

I’m under the same impression that they are clearing out their stocks.
I snagged up 1/6 girl no make up with red dress for $49 (she was $69 when first posted). It took about couple of weeks before I got the shipping info (but it was crappy and not helpful), and a week for it to arrive home. So not very long. The doll did not come with box or COA. Just packed in bubble wrap and what it was photographed in. I can tell the skin-tone that it is at least a year old. It was already yellowed and mellowed. Not too badly the cap was different color slightly. But a nice doll nonetheless. Just a little bit disappointed with no COA.
This lead me to believe, they are literally closing out and just getting rid of their stocks slowly, a slow death. I do not think they’re going to continue on.

Yay she got delivered today!! I didn’t get notified that she shipped or a tracking number. I didn’t get a box or coa which I’m a little sad about it. But she came nicely packed and protected and no yellowing. I can’t take pics right now as I have I’m leaving for a concert and will be away to take care of relative afterwards. I just wanted to make sure everything was okay and I’ll post pics when I’m back

The 5Star Team got back to me about my inquiries about what happened last year when their site disappeared. Their response is below:

Wow! This sounds like great news. I was so afraid that 5Star had become another doll company that disappeared without a word. I sure hope things go well for them and they stick around for a good long while.

I confess I’m very nostalgic about this company because I bought my first 1/6 doll from them in 2010, my ancient little TongTong. I’m really happy they are back and look forward to their new creations.

Hello! No activity here in a while but I was wondering if anyone knows any good bodies to hybrid Alyssa with? My friend might sell me her head and I'm not sure what body I'd like to go with it so I thought I'd ask if anyone has ideas

 

You can hybrid it with myou, AOD, and few other companies. As for skin match, AOD pink comes very close.

I got my little raccoon paws on two 5Star girls. I thought they were both YoSDs but my Alice is 1/4! She's a 40cm Kid so do standard size MSD/SDM clothes fit her? She comes with an outfit already (score!) but I'm hoping she can share clothes with the rest of my crew.

 

I would be interested in the answer to your question SaltedPretzel. I’ve bought the Alice that has a face-up, wig & clothes. So altho she will have clothes she has nothing to change into;-)

 

PS. I’ve also purchased Ray. I just fell in love with his pout. Could it be better than Antique Lilac’s Ringo. Maybe……….
