Glad I checked this thread. :3 I can now feel more confident ordering Edward. I kinda prefer their more "squarish" faces. ^^ I only wish they had that extra thigh joint, but otherwise posing looks good. (If anything I can put that extra joint in myself if I feel brave.)
Hehe, THANK YOU SO MUCH for the owner photos of their tan resin~ I just ordered Blank Allen in Tan last night
Well, here's Johnny to tide you over (a tan fix AND an Edward fix <g>) . . . .I have decided he will have the pale hair and eyes (12mm glass, MUCH better than what came with him); I still need to redo his faceup. But meanwhile:
Ha, that IS my faceup, which is why it needs to be redone! I did it in the middle of our wet summer, and with a too-heavy hand.
I wonder if anyone on DoA has got Kevin because he is sold out on 5SD website and I would love to see owner photos of this doll.
BTW, note that Edward is also sold out at 5Star. (as is Lura, the other elf). . . .I have wondered if 5Star is discontinuing those three models. DDE does have an Edward in stock and was going to inquire about that, but I never heard back.
Oh I hope that's not the case. I've been looking everywhere for just the right elf head. I was also planning on buying the Edward from DDE.
I had noticed those three had all gone into sold out. I'm just happy I bought Lura before they did. I do think Edward is a wonderful sculpt, and I LOVE their ears.
Still a lot better than I could do it. I wish I could do a face-up half that good. I have no skills when it comes to drawing and painting.
Hey, does anyone know what size clothes Tong Tong wears? I don't know if she can exactly fit littlefee/yo clothes because they'r a little smaller. She's 28cm, so does anyone know?? Plz and thank you!
Ha, neither do I. I mean, NONE. I have never taken an art class, never drawn anything at all, never painted. But I ordered the Planetdoll tinies last year, long before they offered faceups. So I just keep trying and trying -- I now have done a couple of faceups I'm REALLY happy with, most of my others I still think should be redone. I'm not confident enough to wipe a semi-good company faceup to do my own. These people who do great faceups first time out just amaze me. It took me, oh, at least a dozen faceups to get one that could stand up to a camera (and that long to figure out what kind of brushes to use). . . .But you'd be amazed if you give it a try; the camera picks up all sorts of flaws that you don't really see in real life. It's nice to have the option - I don't think 5Stars faceups are particularly good, so in that case, I just ordered him blank. My biggest problem is Iowa humidity - it just doesn't go away, particularly this year. It just keeps raining. . .
Wrong forum - but you can get info on the 5Star tinies on the forum in the tinies section: http://www.denofangels.com/forums/showthread.php?369052-5StarDoll-Tinies-Discussion-Thread
http://www.mintoncardinc.com/dolls/browse.php?toys=shop&BJD=90&name=BJD+5Star+Doll&cbh= This site has them all. : )
Adding to the measurements: Also wanted to add that the feet are 2.2 cm wide. That's not listed on there in case you're looking for shoes.
I added the measurements to the 5stardoll 1/4 page on the DoA wiki quite a while back, in any case: http://www.denofangels.com/doawiki/index.php?title=5StarDoll_1/4 Very few people seem to use the DoA wiki to their advantage, which is a real shame, because it's really handy having all the information in one place rather than having to go to dealers and so on.
