Wow, I haven't been here in ages. I'm glad more people are getting into these gorgeous dolls!

Mollibean I am always floored by how good your tan boy looks, and Becca is looking so good in her current outfit, too! Maybe some Mickey spam is due?

radient blue ohh, you did a great job, your Angelo is beautiful! I didn't even recognize him as tan!

Oh...it is so good see Annette!

She is who pushed me over the edge to jump in the event!

Every one's getting Michelle it seems. I can't wait to see everyone's new dolls. I'm just getting tinies this event. Wonder what they'll draw me in with next year.

Mollibean thank you so much, I'm glad you like her as much as I do! I'm so glad you're getting a girl Michelle! Is she going to be Mickey's twin? He looks so cute and innocent next to grumpy Sev, hahaha.

radient blue Oh wow, he's sort of a buttery tan, if that makes sense... I like it! But it is very subtle, so I'm sure it's much easier to tell IRL. Leif seems like a perfect name for him, IMO!



Hm, now that I think about it guys, it's been a while since a new Super was released, hasn't it? I wonder when they'll release another one?

Kymera , I was thinking about having the second Dark as a girl, but decided that his head is too big for a girl's body, she would look different from my other dolls... but I like the idea of girl-Dark!
radient_blue, I like the way your Angelo looks; his tan is really beautiful, not too dark, he looks just as a pale one who spends much time open air. It's great to see "almost shy" Dark as mine is a shameless thing (but still sweet).

 

I just ordered the new Gabriel, and Denis tells me I qualify for free clothing, so I'm psyched!! I also will have a dark head in tan skin, I think I want a female Dark, but I'm still debating...
I'm loving all the spam here. And Tea-Leaf, your Dark is so handsome!

Oh darn them, releasing new and limited dolls right after I placed a huge order. Aphrodite is gorgeous. I hope I have a chance to get her, once my doll fund recovers.

 

I just put a Becca on layaway. I've been intrigued by her for awhile (a lot of people seem to be really turned off by the company pictures of her, but oddly enough I kind of like them!) and the event made it that much easier to be persuaded. There are lots of gorgeous dolls in this thread--- makes me even more excited to get mine!

Thanks! I'm really excited for her. What size wigs do you use on your Becca? I didn't order a wig from 5Star with her, because I have a super-specific concept for her look and none of their wigs fit the bill. I'm going to do my wig shopping for her as soon as I pay her off, and I want to make sure I get one that fits that particular head well!

radient_blue, I agree - Aphrodite is great, too... I am hoping that the outfit will be available separately, but I'm thinking that they'll probably limit it to just the 50. Or maybe even the first 20?

I do think I want Dark on a female body, but I ordered just the head (free head for the event) so I can do a face-up and make up my mind whether or not it will work for me.
I love the look of the 5SD tan skin. Oh, and Denis told me they're working on a new yellow skin, so I'm curious about that. I sort of like the one they have now, though... So I hope it won't be too different...

 

If I read the site correctly it is just the first 20 that get the outfit. I'm not terribly interested in the outfits, but they are a sweet bonus. Ah look at me fauning over a limited. I swore I wouldn't be like that... I've broken so many selfpromises in this hobbie.

 

I know - I was going to go for Tumnus and get two bodies for the twin heads in the event, but now I ended up getting Gabriel and just the one body. Meaning I'll have to order a tiny boy body at some later date, and I *swore* I had enough 5SD kids already... LOL!!

They'll probably have a winter event, and I'll end up ordering my bodies then and getting whatever free gift they offer, and so it goes on... and on... and on... LOL!!

They do have the clothes on the site now, for $100. Pretty steep. So I hope Denis is true to his word and I get the Gabriel clothes free - I do like them.

 

It really does sort of spiral. Sure you get a free head, but then you order a body for that and get another free head and so on. which is how I've manage to collect 11 of there's so far and an unholy 6 on the way

Tumnus is still my favorite sculpt of theirs. He was the first BJD I ever ordered. Not the first one I received, but definitely the first I ordered. I really need to get around to finishing his horns.

 

Darnit! I knew they were due for new Supers, but I didn't expect them to be limited! I hope someone orders Aphrodite so we get to see owner pics of her, too.
I have to say I've fallen for Gabriel, but there's no way I can afford him right now! Maybe if I'm lucky not too many people will order him and I'll get my chance eventually?

thedarkeststar13 Congrats on ordering Becca, it'll be nice to see more of her around here! Are you going to order her default faceup? I have a Michelle and she fits into 8-9 wigs, and might be able to fit into 9-10. The 5star Supers have pretty big heads - definitely not fit for a 7-8 like the website says.

 

I originally wanted Tumnus, but Gabriel 'called' to me and he's limited... And the free outfit is a nice bonus. I still want Tumnus, and I think Dark should work as a female.
I like Aphrodite, too, but I fell hard for Gabriel, and I can definitely only afford one. I had to drop one of the bodies for my twin heads because I couldn't afford to get both.

Of course I will have to save up now to order a body for Dark and a body for the other twin head. And by that time there will probably be another event... And so it goes... When this batch arrives I will have six dolls (one Super and five tinies) and two floating heads (one Super and one tiny).

 

Thanks! I'm gonna pay my layaway off next week, and I can't wait for her to arrive! I ordered her blank. I WAS going to go with the default faceup and just edit a few details a little bit, but I ended up deciding to just do a fresh one myself. (Part of that is not wanting to wait the extra time for a default faceup!) Thanks for the wig tip! That's great to know, because I did find one that looks right and it's an 8-9 size.
