5stardoll Supers

Could somebody take pity on me and give me 2 measurements from one of the most current boys? I need to know the length of the arm from shoulder to wrist and the circumference of the shoulder ball. I'd like to use an FL 60 event arm on a 5Star boy but need to know if that'll work before I purchase the arm.

The 5Star site says the length of the arm is 19cm but I'm not sure if that's the arm from shoulder to wrist or shoulder to fingertips.

 

My boys are a year or two old.....does it need to be a new guy?

 

Unless they've drastically changed the bodies, that'd probably be fine for my purposes.

About 10.5 for circumference of shoulder ball. And 19 from top shoulder joint to wrist.

 

Ok then. I guess I was too slow.

 

I was hoping you'd say what you measured as well...Iol.. I like multiple measurements..

 

Ok, I measured too. I got 10cm around the shoulder and 18cm wrist to shoulder.

I think this guy REALLY wants to come home. When I mentioned to the seller that I wanted to put the FL arm on a 5Star boy (which was why I was asking her for the shoulder ball and arm length measurements), she told me she'd just received a 5Star boy a few weeks ago as a restoration project and she strung the arm on the body for me so I could see the arm on an actual 5Star body! How freaky cool of a coincidence is that? It is an older body she got and there are slight differences in the measurements between old and new but it was certainly good enough for my purposes.

The resin match is non-existant but she also has no idea what skin the boy she got is. Doesn't matter to me though. There is some slight gaping at the ball/socket joint but not enough to bother me right now and if there was any mods to be done to make it gapless, they'd be minor. The arm is almost exactly the same length as the 5Star arm, too, which would've been more of an issue if they were noticeably different lengths.

For my next question, for the Dark owners, what size eyes do you have in his head? 5Star says he takes 16mm but sometimes smaller eyes look/fit better. I also have some really nice 14mm eyes that are just begging for somebody to wear them and a pair of 14mm golden dragon eyes that I could use for his 3rd eye. I've seen some nice eyes in the MP, too, and I'm trying to get all my options sorted so any help would be appreciated.

Here is the photo of Dark with 16mm glass eyes and a 12 silicone in the center. A 14mm in the center eye was all iris. The 16mm in his eyes look fine, iris size-wise.

Molliebean: It's weirdly good that so many things have fallen into place with this guy. Especially since the entire affair was started because I'd finally figured out who the Dollshe Orijean sculpt was. When I found out that he'd just recently been discontinued and my getting the head (I don't care for the gangly look of the Dollshe bodies and 70cm was too tall anyway) 2nd hand in a resin I wanted would be challenging as he's not a popular sculpt... I decided that if this guy wanted to speak to me, then I should listen and look for alternatives.

Turns out, the Orijean will remain the character he said he was, which is actually fine and he joins my list of dolls I'll likely never own due to rarity. This new guy however, is very determined to become a presence in my house with all manner of things falling into place very rapidly for him. I can't complain about that at all. Funny enough, he'll also be the 2nd 3-eyed doll that I'll have in-house, and stranger still, he's more or less the uncle to the other 3-eyed doll (who is OT for this thread and currently out getting modded to have said 3rd eye).

Steamwitch: The 16mm do look good as his main eyes. The 14mm I was going to possibly use for his center eye has no whites so it being all iris is fine with me. This now presents me with the challenge of picking out his eyes and it's a hard choice as there's 3 top contenders and I think any of them would look pretty darn good in his head.

I also really like the look of the sculpted neck/chest piece on your boy. The painting you did on that is pretty awesome. I'm hoping my minor hybrid will turn out just as eye-catching *crosses fingers*.

My girls are sort of stiff posers but they hold any pose I want and stand really well..even in heels!

Reed is getting gray dragon legs and feet. I found a set of Soom dragon legs that will go on him and I'm so excited.

I have to wait a while (they are in storage somewhere) and I know I'll have some modding to do but Reed with dragon feet! OMG he is going to be so much more Epic.

Just for curiosity's sake, does anyone have an idea of how long the wait time at 5Star is right now? I checked the waiting room thread and last year it seemed they were working with about a 5 month wait. The thread isn't very active at the moment with the majority of the people who ordered in 2014 seeming to have gotten their dolls in January.

I'm asking as that Orijean head I thought I'd never have the chance of getting? Yeah, bought one in the stock clearance sale and he's home now (and even better looking in person, if that's possible) and I'm itching REALLY hard to get him the Miro body which is a crazy good price. But, if I do that, it'll set back my purchase of the 5Star Dark a little bit and if the wait times are already long with 5Star, the sooner I can order my 5Star boy, the better. If it helps/makes any difference, I'd likely order directly from the company.

 

No...I have bought any in a while. Last time I bought a doll it was 3 months.

 

I got mine from 5stardoll on Ebay and it was sent him out within a 14 day time period. I choose what color resin and what not.
