5stardoll Supers

@SapphireStargazer in the female body I didn't notice that problem. She has a little problem with the left elbow joint, it's not very easy to pose, but nothing terribile. She's strung very tight, she can even hold other dolls while standing

Edit: Sky is handsome by the way, I really like him a lot!

My 5stardoll Kevins hip doesn't pop out on me at least not that I have noticed. I love the sculpt tons and tons.

 

@Enid Black - thank you! Wow...that's impressive that she can hold Amy like that. My event doll is an Amy, too. I haven't tried to see if Sky can hold her, but he's strung really well so I'm sure he can. (I actually have tried getting my IMPL Star boy to hold her, and he can. lol)

@Reslie - glad to hear that your Kevin's hip joint doesn't pop out. I suppose if I never put mine into any poses other than standing or just sitting without bending his knees, his hip joint probably wouldn't pop out either, but you know me... I love to test the range of my dolls' posing abilities.

 

@SapphireStargazer of course as soon as I said I haven't had that problem... I picked him up from a seated position and of course it happened.. LOL.. So now I guess kids, dogs and BJD's make liars out of us. I have had the problem going from standing to sitting but I do with almost all of my dolls. Clothing and doll posing for me in general is a pain in the butt. I love skirts for my dolls cause I can actually touch the resin and know if everything is lining up the way things need to be... maybe my guy will start wearing kilts. I tend to unbutton the pants on my dolls and pull them down to make sure all is right and then carefully pull the pants back up and pose them. I also haven't been playing with my dolls much at all. I feel like a bad doll owner cause they are just sitting on the shelf. I think I just got over whelmed and needed a break.

Anyone that has a female 5Stardoll and a male can you show them together? The naked girl bodies in the pictures that I've seen on the 5Stardoll website look so skinny and I was curious how they look together. I sold my Kevins counter part in a story that I am working on and now am looking for a replacement for her. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks all.

I don't have the male and I was a bit afraid of the skinni-ness of the dll body from the website-photos but in real person the ribs are a bit less noticeable, although the nipples are so pointy I'm considering a light sanding XD

 

@Enid Black Lots of companies do that with the nipples.. LOL.. Maybe they sculpt by looking at naked models who are a tad bit cold? lol I don't know but I have sanded other dolls nipples down just a bit so they aren't poking out of every top I put them in. Thanks for the information though I keep looking at them and am just not sure. I have an extra Kevin head that has the elf ears and I am thinking about doing a female faceup to see if I can just buy a female 5stardoll body for it... but we will see. He has a strong jaw.

 

Hey, do any of you have both the old and new Super/Star20 male bodies and could tell me how well the latter poses compared to the former? I have an old-style WS Angelo (with AoD hands because the hands on the old male body were so tiny!) and he can stand with a bit of effort but it's a fight to keep him from overbalancing... Also his legs flop but his ankles are really kicky so I'm despairing of getting his tension right. :P Since I want to get a second Angelo, I'm curious about the new body's posing and the scale of the hands to the head. Any help would be appreciated!

@Enid Black Would you say that Michelle and Amy look as though they could be related when placed together? My Amy is supposed to be the daughter of my Angelo (mother is AoD Qi) and I've recently decided she needs an adult older sister... since I'm already planning a second Angelo to be the first's twin I don't really want a daughter identical to her father! :P If the features are similar, I'd rather mod elf ears onto Michelle.

My doubt is that they would be a bit too different in height? She would be a really older sister.

@Enid Black Thanks for the photo! The height difference doesn't bother me - the way my story works, the elder sister would already be an adult when the younger was born. Hooray for elves :P

 

@Nyara Right, elves!!! AHAHAH, I didn't think of it . Do you need a photo of both of them standing?

 

@Enid Black That would be great, especially if Amy can reach for a ""handholding" pose. ^_^ I haven't played with mine enough yet to remember the reach of her arms... and I know a lot of SD girls have similar proportions but it's always good to be sure!

Michelle's legs go on for MILES. I'm sure she'll be a rather fetching elf once you've modded the ears!

 

Hi. I am not sure where the proper place to ask question about my 5Stardoll Michelle and I think here would be best place.
I bought her last year in white skin and when I got her, I didn't realize how yellow she appeared in real life compared to the pictures on the website. I intended for her to have white hair, blue eyes and white gown. I struggled with her to love her skin color but nothing is working, even I went to extent to paint her entirely white but still didn't work. I decided to post her up for sale on eBay but no bites so far. I am considering giving her another try. I have been reshelling this character several times and I am so frustrated with her. I already found another sculpt that would work better but I honestly don't want to save that much money and wait to get another doll. What can I do? What works making her skin tone work with my image of a white haired, white gowned pale goddess like?

 

I love Michelle...I have two, a girl and a boy. I think I looked at yours on ebay...(was tempted..)

Maybe you can try a cream wig and cream or ivory gown to match her skin color?

 

That's the problem, the wig, gown are the one I wanted for this character and I am trying to aim for diamond, white pureness of the character, so I don't want to go any other colors. Her name is Megamiki, she is a Holy Summoner and basically, she is white. I might try one more attempt on face up and see if I love it or not.

 

I see. I have an albino girl and she had to be white.
She looks like N/S to me...my white skin dolls came paper white. I haven't bought a W/S from 5stardoll though.
You may just have to reshell her. It happens unfortunately...a doll just doesn't work out.
