5StarDoll Tinies Discussion Part 4

Yeah, I was bummed to see Aiden isn't available with the beast arm and tail. That counts me out then, unless they dust off those molds and decide to offer them later. I'm not huge on fantasy sculpts, but that one would be hard to resist... a chibi hell boy? Yis!

 

Awe, yes. I did notice Miss S. She would make a neat doll's doll. I'm too stingy/not-rich-enough to buy her though. I suppose I can always keep my eyes open, of my entire collection, I've only 2 dolls I ordered from companies. I'm plotting and planning to save for another doll right now. I should be more focused on sewing for the ones I already have but my machine is starting to make scary clunk sounds. I suppose I can finish the project I have going and take it to the shop for a check-up. I'm looking forward to faceup weather, being a night-shifter, it's going to be a challenge to get in sync with good daylight, but I plan to do my best for my dollies' sake!

 

Does anybody have both Aiden10 and Aiden5 who could take a photo of them standing side by side so I can see the difference in height in a visual sense? I am really struggling to decide which one to go for and work them into my dolly crew.

@mollym Clunking is never good. It could be that the plate underneath has become misaligned. But maybe it just needs a service?

I think I have a spare arm bit, tail and hand in white if anyone wants it for blushing. I don't think I'll ever use it.

 

Theres a couple things on the mp that Im wondering if they would hybrid of sorts well. Colors dont' seem the same but I'm unsure of the years and the lighting could be different on both pics.

Possibly...the only thing I think I am worried about is color. I'm not sure it will match.

 

It may be a little time consuming but you could try and blush the head to match the body? Or dye them? Not ideal if you wanted to keep the face up though.

I need to dig all my kids out (they were tucked away for the holidays) and get some fresh pictures. Yet another thing to add on the 'TO DO' list.

 

@ahalfling I'm not sure if you do your own faceups, but blush-matching is not as bad as it might sound. I did (happily, accidentally) find that the citadel sealant from Games Workshop has more tooth, and takes a blushing like that very well. If you have a variety of chalk pastels, reference the color wheel and have a good white pastel, it's pretty fun to mix your own match. In other words, don't let a slight resin mis-match put you off if you really want the little fella.

@Kelli I agree, you have a really cool collection of 5-star kids. I love seeing them all together, thanks so much for sharing them.

 

@Rabbit-moon This is wonderful news! I will do the happy dance with you! Do you have an estimated arrival time for your new little Bibi? Which body will your new kid have?

After seeing them I ended up going for an Aiden10 in grey skin because I wanted a gargoyle character in my fantasy crew and the Aiden5 was not quite small enough for the younger sibling look I wanted. If Yami had been available I may have gone for her but I was not sure If I liked the larger eyes on Aiden5 for me personally. So making lots of gargoyle concepts, there may be some mod-ing!

@Rabbit-moon Congrats on your Bibi, they will be worth the wait! Who knows, you may get lucky and he could arrive early. Fingers crossed!

Haha 5 months is a bit of a wait but it will be worth it! I think 8 months has been my longest wait so far for a doll. I forgot I had ordered it and was surprised when the shipping notice came in!
