I am agreeing with you Rabbit-moon - a heads up would be really nice. I may not be ordering any new dolls from them - I think Anna and Peter are very cute, but I would want the original body and not the new generation body. I will have to think about Bibi and Tong Tong.
Miss S looks very small. She takes 8mm eyes. I wish 5stardoll would let us know when they're changing everything. They did that a couple of years ago after the summer event. A bunch of dolls disappeared with no notice. I regret not putting in a big order that summer........
Love the new dolls, Anna seems a little Sister to Amy, she is really cute!! But I am not sure about New body, I love my Vivian but I don't know if I will buy another one.
Yes, Merlin's Mom, sadly I feel the same way, too. I seriously don't see myself buying anymore 1/6 dolls from 5Star, if the only body available is the New Generation body with the single jointing. And, frankly, I think the New Year's Event is lacking, too. Am I the only one who thinks "Miss S" is kinda funky looking? I was hoping they would have the usual event where if you buy $300 dollars worth of dolls, then you get to pick an extra doll! I was hoping for this next event, I'd take the plunge and order: Aiden-10 in red resin and Bibi in tan resin, and then I could get Amy as the free event doll. Looks like that's not gonna happen. Dang! So much for best laid plans! Same here Gherkin! There were a couple of 5Star 30s that I really wanted, but suddenly they were gone. A little announcement about discontinuing sculpts would have been nice. I think we're all feeling that way right now, Derdre. The new dolls, Peter and Anna, are very cute. But, that new single-jointed 26cm body is a deal-breaker for me. I really liked the double-jointed body! (I want more joints, not less!)
Eeeek! I also just noticed on the new site that the 26cm sculpt Jesse is gone! I know he wasn't a very popular sculpt, so I'm not too terribly surprised that he's disappeared. But, I love my little Jesse, and I'm so glad I got her before she got consigned to discontinued doll oblivion. Here's my Jesse-girl, Drusilla. She needs a hug.
I was also thinking of getting Jesse as a girl to go with Hester - I am very disappointed in 5Star right now. I also am not impressed with MissS, but then the outfit they have her in is ugly and she may be cuter in an appropriate outfit.
Oh! What a bummer! The Jesse sculpt would have been so cute with your Hester. Wow! Actually, I've never seen a BJD company take such a step backward as 5Star has done. Usually a company looks to improve their sculpts and the poseability of their doll bodies. I can't help but feel like this is a bad sign. (I hope they decide to put the double-jointed 26cm bodies back up on their site. And, the tan resin option, too!) I guess I might have been a little harsh on the little event doll, Miss S. Seriously, I couldn't get past that ugly outfit they have on her. (But, I'm still not interested in her.) I guess I'll just have to wait and see what happens with all these changes.
Is the faceup and sculpt for the special release Nancy and the regular Nancy the same? The pictures have different resin colours and wigs and lighting but are they the same?
I have both and they appear to be the same. I think Nancy is one of the prettier dolls with more of a smile and not dower look to her. Edit - oops my mistake both of mine are the special release Nancy - her face up is more gentle looking than the basic release. Sorry for the error.

Well, I went through the News Thread again; it looks like the company rep answered everyone's questions, and it was encouraging that they will be bringing tan resin back after the NewYear's/Spring Event. Unfortunately, it looks like the old, 26cm 5Star-5 bodies are defunct, and not coming back. Luckily, it looks like the double-jointed 30cm body for the 5Star-10 kids is still available, and that is what Bibi is. We still may be able to get Bibi in tan after the event is over.
Rabbit-moon I am still hoping to get Bibi in tan and probably still Tong Tong in normal. I am wondering what is going on with them though due to the huge cut back in bodies and resin colors. Will see what happens after the event is over.
I think maybe I should get one on Denver doll with the old body and get Nancy later on does anyone have some pictures of the regular Nancy and Amy? I'd like to compare them
Was digging through my photos and found a good one i took when I borrowed a friends light tent. Gherkin, great picture! Your dolls look wonderful! I keep trying to guess which doll is which. A roll-call would be nice under the photo? Who is the grey doll in the back row on the left? Is that Batboy? And who is the cutie all-in-pink in the front row? So many beautiful dolls! And, yeah, I'm a little upset with 5Star because of all the changes, but I still love their dolls. I still have plans to get a Bibi and an Amy in tan, when the tan option is available again.

After I read about all the changes with 5Star, especially the fact that Aiden would not be be available in his lovely moon-grey resin, and no longer have his beast arm & hand, I immediately went on-line to DDE and bought their last Aiden-5. He's so cute, and I feel so lucky that he was still available. I'm also ecstatic that he has the old 26cm body, which has been discontinued. He also arrived with an extra normal arm, incase I didn't want to use the beasty stuff. Meet my little "Zombie Joe". He'll fit in perfectly with my other 1/6 fantasy sculpts. (My Sunnydale crew now has a zombie, with a mutant arm! Yay!)
Ohhhhh, so jealous of Aiden-5! He's such a unique color! I usually say batgirl for my little Jace but I didn't want to confuse anyone. She came with wings, horns and a trident.
