1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

a BJD in a MOVIE!

Apr 16, 2007

    1. I always considered the dolls on Rozen Maiden what the japanese call Mary dolls, wester aesthetics, but there are people who've done BJDs of them.

    2. 2010: the year of Doll Domination? Resistance is futile...they will assimilate you!

Note that most of the dolls in the video were Dollfie Dreams.

    3. I'm a fan of Asian horror movies and watched Doll Master some time ago... long before I ever knew about BJDs. While not being particularly great, it was an interesting movie; I found the, err, main villainous doll to be pretty cool (the prologue is the best part of the movie in my opinion). But I feel it to be weird when I visit a friend's house in Christmas and find a Santa Claus' doll on the toilet (his mother likes to decorate the house... overdecorate, I'd say), so yeah, the toilet doll in Doll Master was sort of weird for me.

    4. I think that's what you call the Lolita fashion? Didn't Volks or some company actually make limited edition of the Rosen Maiden dolls? Or just their clothes?

As for Dollmaster, I got a free copy of it when I ordered my Aurora from Junkyspot. That was a freakish sort of movie. I love dolls but I'd hate to have to sleep in a bed with one of those life-sized doll faces staring down at me all night. Yikes! O_O

    5. Yes, you are right, Volks did do LE SD dolls based on the characters, and occasionally they will put out cosplays of Rozen Maiden characters for SD and Dollfie Dream.

    6. I loved that movie (also got mine from Junky Spot as swag). I thought it was kind of interesting though, that a little girl would get such an expensive toy and be so casual about it. Must have been one rich little girl!

Does anyone know who made the dolls in the "museum" building? Not the big freaky life-sized ones- but the little SD size dolls.

    7. I believe it was Customhouse :)
They made the dolls for the entire film.

    8. You gave me a good cry, thank you...beautiful story.

And the main character of my screenplay -- she's technically an antagonist but she's the focus -- is a lot like the little girl you meet in spirit in the story. A bit of a brat, but at her core she is just resentful she never got a chance to grow up and live.

I swear I never saw this story before I started writing "The Gaki."

    9. Awesome story...like a Twilight Zone episode.

    10. I watched Cinderella recently actually. I almost yelped when the blanket got flung off the bed and the doll with it, and not because of the ghost! I was hoping the doll didn't get damaged. :o

    11. aaaaaaaaaaakhhhhhhhh!!!!
i think i just saw a BJD-girl in Younha video clip. She's an artist from Korea...but i don't know the brand of the doll :D:D:D

Have you seen BJD in something like this?...share your story, please :D

    12. Younha??? :0 Which clip??

And I can't say I have... (unless the movie 'The Doll Master' counts) but I've seen some stop-motion animation videos that people have created using their own bjds on Youtube... and I think those are pretty neat. ^^

    13. I think the song was time to break up or something like that...

    14. Wow that is soooo much like Petshop of Horrors *_* Except... with dolls.... and not pets :sweat
