Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. A fat dollfie.

Dec 30, 2005

    1. It would be fun to see a tubby boy. ^^

    2. Hahaha i think maybe..Because resin is heavy XD
and i think when making a doll they just have yo-sd msd and SD
i think SD10 is pretty chubby because it has fat under the armpit
I think they concentrate more on new molds and dont really thing about new bodies.

    3. I would *love* to have a curvy, ghetto-booty, realistic girl doll one day! Curves and a bit of padding are definitely beautiful to me, and it would be great if companies got into different shapes and sizes. Not that the current dolls aren't pretty, but lithe and athletic can get a bit boring when there's really no other choice in larger dolls.

    4. I've seen some really beautiful curvaceous dolls in the artist dolls forum. : D And they were all just a beautiful as the dolls you normally see. (:

    5. ive never seen a chubby/fat dollfie

      never seen a chubby/fat barbie

or porcelain doll unless it was a baby
in fact the only fat doll ive ever seen in my life is the gluttony living dead doll, and he is only fat cuz ...well he is gluttony...

    6. I've heard that kid delfs are known to be the slightly chubbier msd's but to be honest I just think it make them look cuter. ^^

    7. I wish I could find these people (I'm like a whale) :sweat

I really don't like the idea of chubby dolls (unless they are tinies). I imagin finding clothes for them would be a nightmare....

    8. My personal favoured aesthetic for my dolls is on the thinner side. But to say that the "perfect" body must be thin is perhaps a little too narrow. Not so long ago - the beginning of the 20th century in fact - it was the women with curves, a nice round tummy, and broad shoulders that were considered ideal. Take a look at Marlene Dietrich, or paintings and sculptures of Greek goddesses! If BJDs had been invented back then, that's how they'd look.

    9. Kid Delfs are chubby and undesirable around the waist and chest...

    10. Discussion about HUMAN weight and the intricacies of health, weight consciousness, using the wiifit, and what is and is not desirable in HUMAN sizes needs to be moved to members' livejournals.

      TIA.

    11. And now... rich people/celebrities are the ones that can afford expensive treatments making the super skinny look ideal :sweat.

tvorceskiy - that would be tinybear's coco and domadoll's super venus okja :daisy.

    12. One doll nobody (well, I skipped a few posts, so I might be mistaken) has mentioned is the Pipos Baha! Now there is one tubby lil' kitteh - and I <3 mine so. He was my first BJD and I suspect had I not stumbled across him I would never have got into the hobby the way I have. It has always puzzled me why chubby is considered 'cute' on animal figures, but not people.

I also adore Tinybear's 'fat fairies' Bonbon and Coco - when I can finally settle on which face I like more (and a colour! damn you, Bobobie, for confounding us with choices) I am eager to start sewing for their ample forms.

    13. I've always wanted a slightly chubby boy. I don't want him overly obese or anything just a nice husky sort of body. I love skinny bodies, but a boy with a belly would make me really happy.

    14. This has probably been said before, but someone here on DoA is sculpting a "fuller" doll. If you search around in the artist style BJD section you should find it. I think it's pretty cool, and I'm not the thinnest of people.

    15. I'd love to see heavier BJDs, myself :3 I'd like a Volks SD girl because they're a bit less waifish than a lot of 60cm girls.

    16. The bigger dolls can be stockier, and the smaller ones tend to be cuter/chubbier because they have free license to be childlike and round and sweet. Diversity in dolls would be awesome- because so many people's characters show a variety in build. Andrei's tall and stocky, Todd's *short* and stocky (think Wolverine height) and I've got some curvy girl characters, too. But resin is heavy, and some part of it is that it inhibits movement.

That really shapely, 'goddess' body in a girl doll would be really nice, though. Broad hips, strong shoulders, and that slightly curved tummy... nomnomnom. I'd buy that doll right there. Heck, in a GUY I'd appreciate that body- you can't have a Simon Tam without a Jayne Cobb, after all... mmm, big Jayne arms...

    17. I haven't read the entire thread so forgive me if these two have been mentioned but..

Domadoll's OKJA is a little on the tubby side, deliberately so. EDIT: Oops! I noticed she was mentioned last page. XDDD

Also, one of tinybear's dolls, Coco, is also a tubby little girl.

Apart from baby fat type dolls (like the SecretDolls), I don't think I've seen any others, and no boys, only girls.

    18. Uh, how about instead of the word undesirable you just say they're thicker -_-; Personally I think it's rather uplifting that there are other people who would enjoy thicker dolls, and not just in anthro's or small, childlike dolls. What about a mature mini or SD-size doll that also shows some variety? I have nothing against thinner bodies, I like how many are offered, just sort of wish that tubby bodies were available too.

Repeating myself now, yes, but I'll never completely get over my long search for a cute tubby, boy body for my Homme Ivan xD

    19. I have a kid delf and personally i dont find her chubby at all. And she would probably bite ur ear if she was in the room right now X.x. I think really fat dolls would be unappealing but slightly chubby wouldnt be bad depending on size and molds ^^

    20. speaking of ghetto booties....ok well maybe it's not quite that big, but Kiki has a domuya perenial flex body, and though her top is a little elongated and her waist is very slender, she has got HIPS, AND BOOTIE! <3

very curvy hips and her butt actually is round - it's a pain in the butt to find her pants and skirts...
