1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

A fat dollfie.

Dec 30, 2005

    1. Oh, you're very right! I worded it wrong... I guess what I mean is that, most people see it that way, so they don't want dolls to portray that, which is why there's a major lack of dolls without thin bodies. :sweat

    2. Earth's children? What?

I mean earth mother as in pregnant creator. The "mother" aspect of the maiden/mother/crone triad. We see plenty of "maiden" so where's "mother?" (Of course there's no Crone. Poor Crone)

I named my Tinybear BonBon, Demeter after the Earth Goddess. She looks the part. She's as I imagine myself to look when I was pregnant with my kids (around the 5th month when I began to show). Of course that's around when the baby is big enough to hang out on your bladder and you have to pee all the time. That's when moms start to look "radiant" as they rush for the bathroom. And thus begins the time of swollen ankles, tight clothes, heart burn and shortness of breath which by the end has the woman convinced she's a gigantic whale slug. If you say she's fat then she'll throw things at you and claw your eyes out (it's the hormones... self defense instinct) and cry (that's also the hormones). Even if she's scarfing down food... don't tell a pregnant woman (or a lactating woman) she's fat. Large caloric intakes essential during that time of her life.

    3. There is an SD-sized girl with the body type you're describing, actually. :D Aoi Tuki's bodies are definitely round-bottomed and big-thighed (the word "curvalicious" comes to mind), and while the breasts are perky and large-ish, they're certainly not huge, and in proportion to her bottom half they seem relatively small. Here's a great example of a hybrid on an Aoi Tuki body. As far as I know, they can be purchased through Celga's shopping service.

The new Iplehouse EID girl body is also proportionally larger on her bottom half than most other ABJD girls, and though her current bust is obviously impressive, Iplehouse has stated they'll be releasing her with a smaller bust in the future. But if you're looking for a bottom-heavy SD girl, Aoi Tuki is the way to go. :aheartbea

    4. The doll in question is, I think, Sharmista. As far as I know, she is still unfinished.

    5. HOw coul I miss that one???? Man I want one so bad!! I always wanted a nursemaiden for my aristocratic little princess, Rozelynde... but I was convinced that it would never be something like that!! That sculpture rocks!

Kiyakotari <3, thanks for the kind words on my tuki! :^*

    6. Oh, wow wow wow! Thanks for posting that! What a wonderful sculpt. :fangirl:

    7. So i skimmed this thread looking for info on fat/pudge/thick anything BUT skinny and waifish male 60CM bodies...i hope that we can dig up some info for them! ( i love the pudgy girls and have an Okja and a Bonbon, but i want a squishy guy too!)

Cecile the Scarface came up once, but he's a limited
The Lost Angels MSD boy body came up too.

      My only contribution is this:
I have an old version ws B&G body...he's considerably less chiseled than my other dudes. It's definitely not plump...but it's not athletic and muscled.

it's such a drag! i've got a frumpy scientist that needs a body...any other people have clues as to what -existing- company sculpts have bigger males?

    8. The Volks Dollfie Dream Dynamites are bigger girls. I wouldn't call them "fat", but they are def thick. I really like how they aren't super thin. I got one because I felt it really matched my body type, HUge boobs and butt, big thighs, and a thick/not fat waist ^_^

    9. Omg! shes beautiful! I would love to see bjds like her!
I think I would even buy one if there was!!!!!
      So gorgeous! :D

    10. She is gorgeous! I love that sculpt. I love that she actually looks like an adult woman. We need more Amazon goddesses in the BJD world.

    11. I like some softer sculpts(like Daggerchan's soft girl), but I would never buy a doll that had things like fat rolls. I would also never buy a doll that looked olde. If other people create them for their photostories or whatever, that's cool. But it's not for me.

I've always had a figure where my bust & hips are about the same circumference and my waist as about 10 inches smaller. So for me the dolls that have a more balanced figure(not waif like) are more appealing because they look like me. I wouldn't want a doll that reflects qualities that I would dislike(or be embarrassed of) in myself or others.

I am glad that over the almost decade that I've been drooling over BJDs that they've been producing more and more adult sculpts. If only more companies would make guys with muscle instead of stick figures. Or more female sculpts like the DDD, but with different bust options.

    12. I was thinking about this just the other day when redressing my MSD girl.
I know MSDs are only supposed to be youngsters, but even when I was that age I wasn't that petite! lol
I'm not annoyed about it though, there are so many different body types, and there are also a lot of different doll body types. Although I've yet to see a curvaceous one, apart from the model and fashion dolls with larger busts and hips.

      Still, not complaining.
Though I don't think we'll ever see an actual "fat doll" (this being obese), but you never know! ..there could be a market o.o

    13. omg! I LOVE THIS THREAD. I WANNA FAT DOLFIE! SOMEBODY MAKE A FAT SUIT FOR YOUR DOLL! MAKE IT A SUMO WRESTLER WITH AN AFRO! that would be rad!

    14. o.O Wondering if this person is serious or mocking...

    15. I hope they're serious! XDDDD
..it would be interesting to see a fat dollfie though. >>

    16. im seriouS! i would definetly dress up my doll in a sumo suit and afro. it would be a great halloween costume.:)

    17. I would never ever buy a fat or chubby doll. I have these dolls to enjoy and photograph so I'd like them to have the perfect figure.

      Sabriell

    18. Me too! ...and that's why I would :D More curves, plz.

(I mean, even goddesses are pretty thick-waisted!...with small breasts, at that!)

    19. My, that seems a bit harsh--I agree with wildefae... I buy these dolls for photography and my own enjoyment, so why not have a few more curves! Big can be beautiful. ^__^
And even beyond that, there is more to it than being "fat" or "chubby"! Many people on this thread simply wish for a BJD that's shaped like a WOMAN! There's a very definite difference between having some shape and being fat (or even "chubby")--if you've got big hips, no amount of weight loss is going to carve the bones down.

And anyways... Even when I do human photography, I don't only look for humans with "perfect figures" @.@" I sort of feel like that's cheating, and it takes the challenge out of photography! I mean, with a bigger doll, or person, you have to work hard to find the perfect poses to accentuate their shape and show everyone else the beauty you see inside of them... But with a slender, "perfect" doll, they're going to look beautiful no matter what angle you take the shot from!
(Please no one take offense to this! I'm not downing on anyone's photography skills, just trying to give a different perspective~ <3)

Personally, I think the dove campaign for real beauty says it best:

We need dollies in all shapes and sizes--if we're going to treat our dolls are real beings, why not expand our options a little? <3

    20. EXACTLY, wildefae!!!! That's what I want when I say "more meat" and/or "chubbier". Because by todays standards, and compared to other dolls, the Venus de Milo is a little "chubbier" or "meatier". I want a doll with a figure like hers! :D:D:D Though I imagine one would have to do a little creative jointing to make a doll her size flexible/posable.
