A fat dollfie.

Dec 30, 2005

    1. I don't really want a fat BJD, it doesn't appeal to me- it's bad enough having to look at myself eheh! But, I do love curves and that AOI Tuki body is heavenly! I do love my Sooah's big chunky things and Vesuvia's big bum- so a thicker waist is great. I am completely smitten with the EID Jessica because of those reasons and hope to get her someday :D

    2. these girls arent really fat... they are just not really thin :)
      i think this look good!
if the doll have a nice face i'd buy it (for me, its the face that matters the most!)

    3. People are harsh in real life so with dolls it would probably be worse but considering that they're awesome and we love them anyway it really doesn't matter. Except for kids...cubby kids always seem so cute so there are probably some around there. I will say this I wish the males had more meat to them (in a sense) more manly looking but that's just me. I do love those girly boys at times.

    4. No, not harsh at all, we are talking about dolls here not humans.
I myself am not as "perfect" as my dolls and I don't like that so why would I buy a doll with the same "areaproblems" as my own?

      Plus I was thinking about a "fat/cubby" looking guy because I never buy girldolls (unless I mod them into guys) and I do NOT want a male doll with a beer belly >_>;;

    5. Does anyone know of a mature but not ripped male body? I have a male character who has a very slightly pudgy belly. He's an awesome character but he's not anything like the Luts SDF (which is the size i'd like) I've almost given up to thinking i'll have to fully mod a ripped body to find what i'm looking for TT.TT I LOVE AOI Tuki, basically i want the same thing but in a guy

Delfs look like kids, SDFs are are too muscly. What a dilemma ^.^

    6. Have you tried Leeke's gentle body?

    7. I'm looking for more of an SD size >.< and that one looks a bit immature to me but thanks for the pointer

    8. Hmm maybe the 3rd version of the Senior Delf body from LUTS? You can't buy it seperatly though, but it's mature looking but not ripped (where as version 1 and 2 are)

    9. I wish that more people had fat dolls (Male especially) besides just myself and a few other people on here. It seems culturally that FA (Fat Admiration) is becoming more openly accepted, since about the 1960's it's been all about shape up America, us FAs have had a disadvantage ever since and the new millennia only made things worse. Because of which, FA has become something of an underground interest because of the bigotry that has attacked us so abrasively. Anywhere from “You think being unhealthy is sexy” to “You don’t deserve that right.”

But, for the dolls, I guess it’s just a parallel opinion with that of human beings. Unfortunately, I don’t see fat dolls becoming popular at all, since in essence, I don’t think fat is going to become widely glorified either.

Someday I hope that I can be talented enough to open a shop for modding fat dollies. Maybe even something like making BJDs that could be accepted with this body size. However, not only is there the need to factor in the shape of the body, but the balance, movement (and it’s limitations) and clothing. I don’t see it being a real appeal though, this would be like any other underground fetishism; it would probably cost at least twice as much as a regular doll, and also be geared towards only a small amount of people.

We need the people who made Sims 3 to jump into doll making and create the first ever size line – with anything from buff/ripped to athletic/fit to skinny, chubby, fat, and obese. But stating that this will probably never happen, I feel happy and secure known that I have my own fat dolls, love them despite what anyone else thinks, and wouldn’t trade them for the world. ^____~ We all have our own image of beauty, mines just a part of the big picture.

    10. When my DBdoll yuer arrived home I felt a little dissapointed cause he is so chubby. That's not bad, in fact now I love him, but I was more used to thin dolls, specially in 1/6 size.
Today, the first thing peole say to me when they look at him is "but he is fat!" Yeah, but he can stand however I like, so tell me how many 1/6 dolls can do that! :)

    11. Hmm, reading this thread has been very interesting.

I want a fat doll, a male, not because I think that fat is more or less attractive than thin (to each their own!), but because I really, REALLY want a doll who is a rikishi (sumo wrestler). That's kind of hard to do with the bodies I've seen so far. I mean, even the biggest, most muscular dolls wouldn't look right. At all.

So, now I've decided I will be trying my hand at sculpting in the not-too-distant future. There's just something fascinating in the idea of a fully-posable resin sumo wrestler, for me. I *must* have one. Or, a couple, actually. I can't quite picture just the one... and him trying to compete in the dohyo with one of the more "mainstream" boys... *dies of laughter* They'd be snapped like a twig. Or crushed to death? O.O

    12. I've always wanted a chubby MSD-sized doll. They all look so thin and waif-like to me, and I want one that looks like a plump child with a round belly. I think it would be very cute. :)

    13. baby fat would be nice~~but definitly not 1/3 doll~~

    14. Call me shallow but for me the dools i like represent a fantasy ideal, so I would prefer character dolls, elves with elongated features, and small sized dolls that didn't have to be babies. I like the tinies with delicate features. I can imagine that sprites and pixies would be delicate creatures as well as slender. However if a dolls character was supposed to be robust (say an ogre) "fat would be ok" I always suppose tinies are the composition they are because small parts fair better thicker, but if it were up to me they would be far more slender (more like Bracken from sleeping elf) but perhaps softer features

    15. I think personally that a 'fatter' doll would seem less realistic rather than more, simply becuase I can kid myself that a thinner person would be harder like resin and that as a result the shift in body would be less subtle. With someone of a heavier build the way the body 'settles' (sorry, I know this sounds horrible :P) depends a lot more on stance, centre of gravity, muscle mass vs. fat etc... so for me the 'fatter' dolls just don't look like fatter people, simply becuase the weight doesn't 'hang right'.

Don't get me wrong, Id love to see the 'normal' weight range represented a lot more... I just think that overweight to obese would be pushing it in terms of realism and feel!

I have this posted on my fridge to remind me to not get obsessive about my weight like my mom did.

That said, the thing about my dolls is that they look really, really GOOD in clothes. This is the root cause for waif-like models, skinny mannequins and the basic shape of "mature" type BJDs/Asian Vinyl Armature Dolls. Yumiko is curvy, not surprising since she's a Dollfie Dream, and Zetto is downright stick figure-like. However, Zetto's supposed to be a twenty-something rock musician, and the body fits him.

It would be nice to see a more "filled in" doll but the problem would be the need to make custom clothes for them. The folks who have Dollfie Dream Dynamites are encountering this problem, due to their "bodacious ta-tas" and the junk in the trunk the sculptors added to "balance" the figure out.

    17. Not sure if It's been mentioned but Dollmore Dahlia is pretty chubbsy. :)

    18. Nobility doll offers customized bodies with their "Special My BJD" service.

    19. I want a BBB Espree in the original BBB female body. It's not really all the chubby, but it isn't waify thin either. That's why I like it. Her proportions look a bit odd next to other dolls of MSD size, but her imperfection is why I like that body so much.

I really have no real issue with the thin dolls, or the muscular boys. It's not neccesarily for an ideal for me so much as the lankier dolls often have fantastic posability, and a thicker body make take some of that away. I can, however, see how it could be incredibly annoying if you have a character you want in your mind that you just can't find anywhere becuse he or she needs some real meat on their bones.

But, I'm sure if the want for dolls shaped like that became a big voice in the fandom, it would happen. Even if not, there are some brilliant modders and sculpters out there who have the skills to make it happen, if you really want that doll that badly.

    20. I like curves a lot, and I would like to see dolls with some more 'meat' on them. Some of the BJD's, Rosette dolls come to mind now, are so extremely skinny. But to me its way more about the faces anyway, so I don't mind very much.
