It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. A fat dollfie.

Dec 30, 2005

    1. This. Yes. :) I don't want an obese doll, but I do want more curve variety in dolls. I'm dying to someday own an Aoi Tuki Tukihime for this very reason. Now THAT doll, to me, is the epitome of feminine beauty.

    2. She looks a little bottom heavy to me, though, if she had a bit thicker waist and chest it'd seem a bit more proportionate - she looks too thin up there. I like the curves on the bottom, though!

    3. I agree with you. I also thought Aoi Tuki, while absolutely GORGEOUS in her own right, I would love to see her with a ribcage in more even proportion with her hips. Not necessarily her breasts, but her upper body as a whole.

    4. Eheheh.. I really like her figure... because it looks very much like mine.
It is not to everyone's tastes, but it is definitely physically possible.

    5. My Obitsu 47cm girl has what I consider to be chubby thighs and a big 'ol booty! Sort of like Volks, but chubbier. She has a pre-teen chest, but I don't think she's bottom heavy.

    6. We have something in common! :)

But for me I think I would get one. That would be awesome to have some fat dollies around. I see stick figures enough in real life, and just seeing dolls like that, now, kind of ticks me off. xD;; I think that it sends a weird message, that even dolls have perfect figures.

Just thinking about having a thicker doll makes me laugh, I would have so many plans for one. Plus my mum would be both proud of me and the doll comapny that made them that there were fat dolls. xDD

    7. Hmmm with me personally, I don't mind the usual look of thin BJDs because my favorite fictional characters are always so thin and that's what I like to model them after. XD I am SO happy they actually make them with FLAT chests because I'm the type who does get irritated at the "really thin but she has an H cup!!" I mean........what is that!? Every man's fantasy, no doubt! =____=;; Lol.

Since BJDs come from Asia though, that's probably why they have slim Asian figures. I've been to Japan. You don't see fat people aside from Sumo guys. You just don't see them!! I bet it's never occured to any company to make a really chubby BJD!

    8. i think they dont make them because people wont buy em is just like models they are always slim cause thats how people want to be and what they want to see.... girls want to have perfect breasd thighs, etc. and they make this dolls they way they want to see them... personatly iam a little over weight and it kinda saddens me but is just the truth... is like this what do guys prefer a chubby or fat person or someone with an ideal body.. personatly i wish i had an ideal body but thats life after having kid you never end up the same....

    9. My Mitsu (VOLKS Sara SD) is kinda chubby, more in the cheeks than anywhere though. (Well, chubby compared to most female dolls)

    10. If she hasn't responded to this thread already, I'd direct you to Chocobochaos, She's got a fat boy mod in the works ^.^
Admittedly though, I don't think I've ever really seen a sculpt that started out fat. In fact, Moreso I see the anorexically skinny (*cough*HOUND*cough*) Bodies.

    11. The only thing I find lacking in the doll world is not necessarily "extra fat", but more various types of normalness. :3

I like variety in sculpts, and while I understand how lack thereof can be more convenient for smaller companies (a new doll that's compatible with accessories of other more popular dolls will for instance help those smaller companies pitch their products to the general market), I would love to see some of the companies that are financially able (as in, "more popular") come out with more different types of bodies and builds. I am happy with the steps forward taken by companies such as Iplehouse that are now making dolls differently built than others of the same size, and I think it's magnificent.

But as for "fat" as in flabs and folds and such make it more difficult when it comes to engineering, movement etc. From my standpoint, it doesn't bother me aesthetically, but it does seem to bother a lot of other people. I think doll collecting is first and foremost a hobby which orients around the money aspect, and doll creators are in fact trying to sell a product. We can at least be thankful for the fact that as us doll fans grow in numbers, as do the numbers of tastes and preferences. It's already taking effect as more and more different types of dolls flow onto the market. Tall, slim, muscly, short, hippy and busty, I think it'll only be a matter of time before the doll companies expand even further, and find a way to extend successfully into the realms of fat. XD

    12. It defines your definition of "fat".

Usually, fat on a doll (more like chubbiness really) equals a baby doll or a childish "cute" doll.

Though, I personally wouldn't buy an obese realistic doll, I would like to see one just for fun. I don't have the perfect figure like the dolls I plan to get, but a breath of fresh air would be pleasant. Morbidly obese dolls would scare me though, because I'm slightly unnerved by those things. O_oUU

    13. The sleeping elf do make a little chubby elf - here are pics from their website

      [IMG][IMG][IMG]

They are called Bonbon and Coco.
I have one and they are soo cute!!!!

    14. Domadoll Okja has a cute little roll on her belly. I don't find her chubby myself but she has a more fleshy body. She is very cute!

    15. LOL that doll is so cute!

    16. ok. so i'm new to this and i was wondering if they are any "big" BJD girls? like plus sized girls? i haven't seen any and i wanted to know if they exist.:?

so do they? and if they do does anyone have pictures?

    17. I haven't seen any so far... But hey, they make just about any kind of doll, so maybe if you hunt hard enough, you'll find some. :)

    18. This thread will probably get moved, but I'd say if you are looking for more curvy BJD women, I'd take a look at the new EID Women from Iplehouse. They are very curvy and voluptuous girls. I wouldn't say they are 'plus size' but definitely have more shape than most BJD females.
