1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

A Place To Post Photos?

Apr 30, 2019

    1. I use Flickr, but I also have a Dropbox subscription I use to get my photos from my phone to my computer, then download/upload them them to Flickr.

    2. I've been using tumblr to host photos for a long time--usually by loading a bunch of pictures into a private post so no one has to look at them but me lol.

    3. I evidently need some specific guidance on how to use FlickR for my photos. I use a mac or an iPhone. I've looked all over for a tutorial.... but still having issues selecting the 'right' html or link. Do you have to have a Pro account to use FlickR to host picts for DOA? Thanks for any tutorials or help!!

    4. You don't! I've found that you can upload images on a phone but you can't get the right link to post them here in one. You're going to be looking for "BB Code" and need to select an image size that's about 500 or 600 pixels tall/wide to make sure it shows up. All you really need is the link that ends in "png" or "jpg" but I've found that bigger images don't work with DOA.

    5. I figured I'd try and present a visual instruction guide on how to go about posting a link for a photo from Flickr via Mac (iMac, browser Firefox for reference). I'll put the details under spoilers due to image intensiveness:

See the icon circled in red? Left click on it:

It should bring up a menu like this.

Now, right click on the view all sizes option:

This will bring you to a page with a list of direct links in various different sizes. Right click and copy the desired size:
Go to the post message box here when responding to a topic, left click on the landscape icon on the top bar (between the smiley face and film strip, towards the center of the bar), paste link into the URL field, and hit 'post. It should bring up the image from there.

I don't have an iPhone, but when viewing Flickr via the Safari browser on my iPad, there appears a small arrow icon in the corner (between an icon with a box and pencil and arrow pointing downwards to a line). Selecting that will bring up several link share options. In this case, go to BBCode, select the size you want from the dropdown menu, and copy the code in full. Follow up with the DOA message posting in the instructions for the iMac.

Hopefully the layout is the same between the two devices.:kitty2

    6. Wow I’m so thankful for your help!! I will use your tutorial and try again. I tried from my computer and found the BB code but when I went to put it in my FS post, I got a message that DOA had blocked me. I think maybe because I was signed in on two devices. I dunno. But I’m obviously able to post here.

    7. I really like flickr, I can spend years and years and I know that my photos will be safe there and the site shows me many different sizes to download my photo, with an excellent quality I love it.

another one I use is tumblr the bad thing is that it is not so easy to find old photos that you upload because you have to scroll down and down and down and that is very annoying to my taste.

another option can be devian art but in my opinion they are more based on fanarts than photos.
