1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. 1. I voted for Modern day fashions and Color, but... Bri-Bri loves frilly and fancy dresses and her brother Ollie every so often conforms to her fashion rules. Aiden wants to be an actor and wears all types of costumes, as long as they enhance his beauty. Plus, I always have an excuse for dressing up my dolls for Carnival, Halloween or costume parties.

    2. I’ve been in this hobby since 2006 and have amassed a good sized collection over the years, and all of them are fantasy OCs except for one (a current-day Asian female wrestler, but even she’s in lavender skin and only wears stage-inspired ring gear, so there you go!):sweat I’m talking “fantasy” in a Tim Burton’s “Alice” (in Wonderland) sort of way, where anything and everything can co-exist in time…including different styles. In fact, the reason I got into this hobby in the first place was to explore my life-long fascination with fashion. I love sewing and pattern-making, and I wanted to fully indulge my creativity by making original characters who would wear the many styles that interested me. And, in truth, it’s been a wonderful journey! I’ve explored not only traditional fantasy, but many vintage and historical styles, as well as all those fascinating styles coming out of fashion districts like London’s Carnaby Street in the 60s/70s or Japan’s Harajuku area in the first decade of this century. If it interested me, I’d create a character who would wear it, which is how I wound up with such a large collection.:thumbup

    3. I only buy fantasy sculpts, and I’m not really interested in modern fashion, so the overall look is pretty standard fantasy. I’m happy with that, it’s been an aesthetic I’ve liked since I was a kid. Been considering buying some more modern alternate outfits though, just for variety.

    4. I have several groups, not one overarching theme. There are my SD OC fantasy dolls, primarily humans and elves. There are my MSD Bobobie fairy dolls. I have four large girls who are my Mori girl crew and my vampire and his college age descendant and her friends. Then I have a few that don't fit anywhere in particular. So some modern stuff, some fantasy stuff with historical influences and some downright fantasy fairy things.

    5. My dolls usually end up modern, and usually in styles that I would normally wear. I'm really trying to branch out lately, tho. My latest doll was styled as historical Korean, which was so much fun. I am planning to refashion one of my older dolls in a steampunk style. And for my future dolls, rather than my boring modern style, I want to go with a more rustic cottagecore kind of modern style.

    6. My collection is just starting out (2 dolls in!) and so far, I don't have much of a theme going on. My first doll is wearing modern clothes and my second is wearing vintage style, though she's a project doll that I know will go through a lot of changes over the next few months. I think I prefer my individual dolls having their own themes to my whole collection having a theme. Variety is nice!

    7. Most of mine are characters from books, so they're a mix of fantasy with some historical influences. And i want to make my dnd characters, which i guess would probably fall under fantasy

    8. I have an elven army. I do have a few dolls that aren't elves and they are either from my favorite video game or my favorite anime or are humans living in the realms of the fae haha!

    9. My resin family is divided in two worlds so to speak. Half of them (3 dolls) are anthros with a fantasy story line with magic portals and gods and everything. The other half are one Doctor Strange and 2 OCs (a vampire and a normal human little girl), so they kinda mix modern day fashion with fantasy.

    10. My dolls are from 2 different futuristic settings. They are all human except for one, who is an alien with lavender skin. They mostly wear modern day fashion that passes as futuristic with the right props and accessories, though.

    11. Yes!
      To all the things.

My crew is a mish-mashed conglomeration of every choice on the list; and they're all a part of the same story. It doesn't make sense, I know... but it does, and shouldn't at the same time... It has to do with where they live in the story, and "where" that weird little rift in the basement of the therapy building actually goes to...

    12. I have less of a theme and more of a... crow's hoard of shiny, shiny things. :sweat

    13. I'm ashamed to say It doesn't follow a theme I have bought in the past with the intention of having a variety of sculpts now that I try to minimize I will keep my favorite faces and that's all , what they wear depends mainly on what I fancy at the time to sew or knit I have no plan or method whatsoever

    14. For my 1/3 scale dolls, they are mostly styled with contemporary fashions, but with a couple of the characters, I incorporate more of an anime, manga aesthetic. Oh, and sometimes, they also dress in cosplay or costume.

    15. I chose fantasy, but I'll probably have to revise it. My crew is hard xD

I have the poor college student who lives abroad, I am trying to give him more of a grungy/comfy clothing style but I'm struggling with finding clothing options that work in his size (he's a very thicc 72cm boy). I have a weasel anthro who has some ancient Asian outfits, but steals clothes from the college student (and at least story-wise loves lolita fashion. I need to find a lolita dress that'll fit him. Somehow). And a half-eagle man who is....ancient Egyptian with a modern twist? I can't find any pre-made clothes that work for him, so I've been making them by hand. My last doll is a cat-tuar and I just want to buy all the cute little modern dresses for her.

So I'm gonna change my ticky to modern. Yeah. Lol

    16. I prefer modern day fashion for my dolls. I dress my dolls in clothing I find amazing but wouldn't necessarily look amazing on me. For example I think frilly, cute outfits are beautiful but I don't think they're look good on me or I'd feel comfortable in them so instead I dress my dolls in outfits like that.

Sometimes I do buy lolita-like clothing or traditional clothing of different cultures like a hanfu or miko clothing for variety.

    17. Mine are all modern day fashion that are either gothic or punk or very colorful like kawaii Japanese street fashion, I have fantasy dolls like my Link and Zelda dolls who are elves but I dress them in modern day clothes, I have no interest in fantasy clothes but I appreciate them in other people's dolls.

    18. I'm a fashion history nerd, and collecting BJDs means I have many models to dress. Most of my dolls wear old or modern, depending on my mood

    19. Mine are definitely fantasy. What can I say, I have fun with fantasy in art, writing, and dolls. My tinies are nearly all fairies and trolls and things. The middies are humans, and a couple fauns and an incoming mermaid. The big dolls are mostly humans, one half elf, one monster, and two Sidhe type fae/fairies.
(Also, I can't sew modern clothes very well! Renaissance gowns yes, suit coats, nope!)

    20. My collection is a merry bunch of whatever. I guess the common reappearing theme is variety!
I also have a lot of animals or fantasy creatures.
I buy a doll if a) I like the sculpting (overall or just details) or b) it has interesting joints and posing abilities. Emphasis on “or” as I find combinations of both are rare and costly.
For clothing I prefer modern day ‘normal’ to cute clothes, often with cats, rabbits, horses or fan themes ( like Harry Potter or Star Wars).
