Actual Dreams About Your Doll

I feel like I've had various dreams involving my bjds, but I can't frankly recall when I did, or what the dreams were about. The only one I can recall with any clarity was more of a nightmare....

In the dream, I had my main guy on a surface near my bed. I awoke to look over at him—only to notice his faceup was smearing off. The whole ordeal felt so real to me that when I actually awoke—I though that his faceup was inexplicably messed up. It wasn't until I took a moment to look him over did I realize it was all just a horrid dream

 

Only once, the dream was that they all ended up getting thrown into a fire, it was wild LOL

 

This reminds me of something that happened to me around one month ago. I didn't actually dream nor was it a specific doll. I felt sick, was having severe pain and laid in my bed crying. Somehow suddenly a doll popped up in my mind. In my thoughts, I touched it, spoke to and played with it. It was not a dream but it wasn't conscious thinking either. I don't know why but it made me feel at ease and I could stand the pain much better Such a wondrous experience...

 

i had a nightmare once that my dika cain was like mini human sized and he was really set on killing me so he just chased me till i screamed at him and now i look like a moron cus i constantly give that bastard the stink eye

 

I had a strange dream when my child come alive and play with me as a real human, and then... I suddenly turned into his doll. Thanks God, he still love me like the way I do!
So interesting that, unlike some other people, until now no one in my wanna-buy list appear in my dream...

 

I had a dream about redoing the face on my newest the other night. For some reason everything I set out on my desk to do it would disappear and I couldn't find my paintbrushes haha.

 

Does anyone else have dolly dreams?

I've found out that if I spend time before bed browsing the gallery or instsgrsm, I have glorious dreams about castles and princes and adventures. I'm not sure why, but it's brill & it's now part of my evening routine.

 

Not all the time, but when I had/have dolls waiting to arrive (or any toy really), I have dreams about their arrivals or disasters on their way to me. Which are not always pleasant ones I must say, but sometimes they are. I don't usually dream about my dolls (or other toys I own, will own), unless I'm stressing about them, like how it can be when I know they are arriving or will be shipped soon -- I try to not stress about it, but there's not a lot you can do if you're dreaming about them. I don't think I've ever had just a random dream about my dolls however, it's always due to me knowing they are arriving or I'm redoing their face ups, or modifying them. So, I have dreams about dolls but not necessarily just because I was looking at them or browsing doll photos, they are more because I'm already thinking about them in a stressful way, so they are not always pleasant or fairytale-like dreams, like yours, unfortunately. (:

 

I just had a dream last night that I hosted a doll-meet at my house

 

Sometimes! The best/worst was dreaming I received this box of really cool girl dolls in the mail, but didn't remember ever ordering any. They were all secondhand and needed some TLC, but still awesome. Waking up was the worst, I suddenly had 5 fewer dolls. They were all sculpts that either I'm not familiar with or don't exist, as I didn't recognize any of them in the dream.

Sometimes I also dream of inspiration for dolls. My sister and I have been planning out a roleplay and I needed one more male character but had zero inspiration. Last night, I had a dream about this boy, and while he was technically human in the dream, somehow I knew that he was actually a character in my doll RP. After I woke up, I started seeing his name (Taylor) everywhere. I've also been selling a lot of stuff and got my tax refund today, looked on eBay for secondhand dolls (something I never do) and found a legit doll at a very good price which is a sculpt that works perfectly for him. So I guess in this case, I didn't dream about my doll so much as a dream inspired a doll!

 

I've only had one doll-related dream, and it was when I first got into the hobby! I dreamt that I found a broken Impldoll Hannah head under my bed... I didn't recognize the sculpt or know what it was called at the time, and discovering her years later was a very surreal experience. I must have seen her in passing while browsing and subconsciously remembered her...

 

i’ve dreamt about dolls a lot, typically finding/receiving a bunch of random dolls that i can’t remember anything about once i wake up.

only recently though i’ve been having dreams that helped me decide wether or not i should get a new doll. the first time this happened was in early january this year after i found an old volks f-01 on ya!j auctions and was immediately smitten despite the fact that she was missing her headcap and had super uneven yellowing. the night before her auction ended i had a dream that i was holding her in my hands and could feel this unbelievable calm just radiating off of her. i couldn’t shake the feeling even after i woke up, so i placed a bid and won her.

this might sound hokey but she has lowkey changed my life! she has inspired me to learn new fabrication techniques and taught me to not to be afraid of failure on the path to success. even incomplete she is so special to me and i love her so much, so i guess moral of the story is listen to your subconscious. haha!

more recently i had another dream about a specific doll, this time a preorder doll, that i wound up getting. so i guess it’ll be a good test for the ‘buy dolls you dream about’ theory.

 

Only two doll dreams so far. One was pretty predictable and the second really, really strange, both were extremely lively.

The normal one: I once dreamed, I bought Doll Chateau Madeleine, but she arrived broken -- with crushed leg and arm! I felt desperate and thought, there is no way I can fix that bad damage. I would have to contact the company so they could send me spare parts or something. And wait, again! I've already waited for her to arrive and now again. I woke up very disappointed and sad. It took a couple of minutes to register, she is actually OK. Only doll item I was actually waiting for were eyes, so the probability of damage is, fortunately.

The weird one: I had the second dream while I was ill and feverish, so it was quite weird, unsurprisingly. But started deceptively normal. It went like this: I was searching for tiny, stainless steel lobster clamps for doll jewelry, but couldn't find any tiny enough, so I scrolled and scrolled down eBay page after page and nothing. I got tired, frustrated and bored, so I opened a chat app and met a doll. Yes, I met a doll over chat app We started to talk, well..write messages, more exactly. It turned out he is actually a historic figure, death over 500 years ago. It didn't seem weird at that time, at all. I just kept on ranting, I can't find these lobster clamps and continue scrolling in between messages. Finally, I found them but there was a quantity limit per person. So I complained about it and he ended up ordering loads of these lobster clamps for me. I have no clue how he managed it, probably because dolls aren't considered to be persons so the limit per person didn't apply to him. I woke up incredibly happy, knowing I wouldn't need to buy any more of them till the end of my life. But I was still really confused because of the fever, so I started to worry, I didn't ask him what he wanted in return, I was simply too happy to think about it earlier, and now, I was in a debt. And that's a dangerous situation.

This second dream inspired me to plan some doll versions of my favorite historic figures, but I didn't shell any, yet. Searching for right sculpts is damn difficult. I think this kind of dream might be very disturbing for some people.

 

Pretty sure I dreamt of an Iplehouse FID Bichun coming in the post the other night, after pining most of the day for one. Thing is, I need to buy one first!

Of course, it might help if I had the funds with which to do that.

 

I have dreamt with dolls two times, maybe three, but there is only one I remember as clear as if it happened today.
At the beggining of my time in this hobby, just a little after I had received my first doll, I had this dream where I was waiting for a new doll to arrive home and I was very excited, but, when I opened the package, the dolls was separated in pieces and one half of the doll's face was melted like someone totally burned it. I remember I woke up with my heart beating super fast and very scared.

 

Sometimes I will have nightmares of someone taking my girls, or breaking them. I have dreams of all different kinds every night, but I never consider any of them nightmares unless it involves tragedy befalling my BJDs.

 

Overall I don’t dream of BJDs that often and when I do it’s very casual mentions of them, and never dolls I currently own.

A specific exemple was dream where I murdered someone then tried to run away from the police. My packing involved two BJDs; a green haired Zaoll Luv (which I plan on buying at some point), and a rainbow-haired Limhwa Half Elf. The dolls were only a brief mention in the dream.

Otherwise it’s stuff like cleaning my bedroom and finding a doll or doll parts I forgot I owned.


The only doll-centric dream I recall was about a company sending out dolls, and if you like them you can send the payment. Otherwise you have to return the dolls. I think they were loosely based on Disney’s Ariel and Eric.

 

I must say I never have. Maybe now that I have the thought in my head, I will. Ha !

 

My dreams are rather tame in comparison to some of these others! I usually just dream about finding dolls or doll related items in unconventional places. Finding quiet little thrift or antique shops and landing upon hidden gold mines. Usually things like clothing or furniture.

 

I used to dream a lot about being gifted a BJD when I was a child! Particularly one modelled after a Rozen Maiden or Hazuki from MoonPhase!
