1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

*alert* SEVEN DISPLAY DOLLS MISSING FROM NY DOLPA

Jun 8, 2008

    1. I'm just quoting this post

    2. Yeah, someone else said in the news thread they were still on display. It's a little confusing.

    3. I'll certainly add my voice to the growing list of those willing to keep an eye out for these dolls - I mean, that's got to be like 20 lbs. worth of doll swiped in one hit. Terrible form, doll-nappers. :|

Still, it's lousy to think that the affordability of the space rented has been tainted by this unlawful act; as many have noted, when you own even one of these dolls - regardless of which company did it - you admire each company's dolls and things like this affect you more deeply. I hope that they get found quickly, as they are truly amazing creations.:(

    4. Just so. :sweat That was what i heard from Mikey and also from an FDQ volunteer. The reason i ask is because the other party was actually a big sales meeting, as far as i could tell, and sales meetings are very often accompanied by large boxes of products for demo and display. Just spinning out a thin thread of hope. If they weren't, well, that's extra balls right there.

    5. I'm just repeating what Mikey told us in the hall Sunday morning. There must have been a miscommunication or some confusion due to the seriousness of the situation at the time. I would assume Am knows the updated news so thank you for repeating it.

    6. As per Pat Henry:

'They were taken right off the table, seven of ten that were all on the same table. The room was locked at 8:30pm. The other three dolls were found locked in the prep room the next morning.'

      Annmarie
      FDQ Magazine

PS Thanks WickedStitchery - I wasn't there when the announcement was made and am going by what Pat emailed me.

    7. Such sad and disheartening news, quite shocking. :( I hope that justice will be served, and the thieves soon caught and the dolls located and returned intact to Mr. Shigeta, his family and Volks. My heart goes out to them and to the FDQ folks.

    8. So, have they stolen the dolls WITHOUT their boxes?? That's terrible!!! A serious collector will never do that...!!
I must admit I felt somehow better if I thought they had been stolen by a doll collector: at least, those little beauties would have been treated right, but now I truly don't know what to think... :(

    9. Yeah and if they were a collector they'd realize those dolls are going to be hard to sell. At least I hope they are hard to sell.

I hope it turns out to be very much not worth the effort to the thief for having stolen them and they come out regretting it!

    10. I couldn't agree more. I felt so inspired by their example of forgiveness and gentleness, and it's made me rethink a lot of things in general. When something lousy happens, I tend to get very angry and vengeful. Being able to forgive is a great virtue. To say that you'd not hold it against anyone and mean it? What's that saying... to err is human, to forgive is divine? I like people with principles. Someone mentioned that they thought that the Shigetas were being too passive, but I disagree. It's compassion.

    11. How terrible!

Although I'm not sure if this will help or not, but I found a doll on ebay that looks similar to the MSD F21 that was stolen.
Their ears look like they're the same shape, as well as their noses and the shape of their eyes (At least to me) and here are some quotes from the auction description:

      Link to auction: http://cgi.ebay.com/Volks-Dollfie-GORGEOUS_W0QQitemZ250256356958QQihZ015QQcategoryZ84635QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

    12. um...

if i'm not mistaken, that's a suntan msd f11 :sweat

    13. Prinplup - it's been stated earlier in this thread that the auction is NOT the doll that was stolen, and while there are similarities, the MSD in the auction has been faceupped by Ravendolls here on DoA and is a part of her portfolio. They're not the same doll.

    14. Even if Mr. Shigeta would forgive the crook if the dolls were returned, I doubt any of us would have such mercy on that thief...And yes, I agree, they are probably is some greedy person's personal collection now.

    15. "Prinplup - it's been stated earlier in this thread that the auction is NOT the doll that was stolen, and while there are similarities, the MSD in the auction has been faceupped by Ravendolls here on DoA and is a part of her portfolio. They're not the same doll."

and her auction started on the 6th?[before dolls were missing},and she appears to have the box and paperwork and 100% feedback .............

for future ...any suspicious auctions :be sure to get a screen-shot as auctions can be revised or quick buy-it-nows

    16. Oops! Sorry, my bad!

    17. While the speculation continues, I would like to thank you for this comment. They are remarkable people and this does indeed speak volumes to their characther. Thank you FairEmma!

    18. i am so sorry to know about doll lost, it was always a burden for me of beeing losing my dolls, my house was broked in before but so far so good.

it is a problem that bjd become famous, where public know the value or price of it.......stilling will come. :...( so worry

    19. I thought the place where the dolls where had tighter security and people respected each other. I was watching about the hotel yesterday. And that huge centre they have. People work really hard on those dolls. It's horrible someone would be greedy and stupid enough to do that.

While I say that though they could be laughing themselves all the way to the bank right now. However it deffently sounds like a job that happened from the inside.

    20. Knowing that now, it makes me feel even worse to know that someone stole them T.T
