1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

*alert* SEVEN DISPLAY DOLLS MISSING FROM NY DOLPA

Jun 8, 2008

    1. It was my understanding that the Irvins displayed had no plate and the inside of their headcaps were signed by the face-up artist, just as the one-offs were. That's what the Volks staff stated at Dolpa, anyway. So aside from the missing human ears, the stolen Irvin should be missing a plate and have a signed head-cap.

The more time that goes by, the less likely it will be that any of these dolls will be noticed if they turn up. I agree that the resemblance between the stolen doll and the Y!J doll is uncanny. Even if it were the same doll, however, it's no proof that the Y!J seller had any knowledge of the theft or had any part in it.

It's a shame to think the thief or thieves got away with something like this, but they very likely did.

    2. I'm so glad that they quickly replied to you, Sheri! And I'm relieved that the Y!J auction doll IS NOT the Dolpa Doll that was stolen.

The similar makeup and eyelash and wig was just a big coincidence~

    3. I've seen the reply from Mr Shigeta. I am pretty sure they have information to confirm this FCS. (But the fact that the seller answered the two requests for pictures of the head plates with " I do not know how to post more than 3 pictures and the plate has fallen off"; just does not sit well with me)

    4. Oh that does seem odd! Where did you see the info?

When I spent another obsessive amount of time comparing the 2 dolls I noticed that the eyebrows are longer on the YJ doll, they go closer to the nose than the Missing doll's do. (awkward sentence AAAK)

    5. Not to be morbid here, but what can Volks really do if this is the stolen doll? There was no proof at all as to who actually stole them, and the seller might have bought it off of someone else, too. I just don't think it's worth it for Volks to track these dolls down by now and it's probably wiser of them to say that it isn't the stolen doll and let the matter go than trying to find the culprit or have the doll be returned to them.

My take is that if someone ended up buying one of the missing dolls and noticed that it is the one-off doll, and reported it to Volks, then Volks would probably acknowledge it and you know, praise the buyer for his/her honesty and they might as well let her keep it, and make a special announcement about it, that's all. But for a situation like this it would only make things more complicated if Volks come out and say "HEY you stole my doll/that's my doll!", and it'd probably reflect poorly on them as a company, too.

    6. I suspect they'd like to know the fate of the dolls - Shigeta sama and the staff of VOLKS were, after all, worried that the dolls wouldn't have welcoming and loving homes as much as about the monetary loss - if not more. Even if one doll, spotted on an auction, doesn't get recovered and donated to Make-A-Wish, they'll have some hope that the doll has a home where she'll be appreciated.

In addition, the appearance of one doll may open a window onto the fate of the other six - if that doll's history can be traced, perhaps some or all of the others can be located.

And far from least - the alerting email lets VOLKS know that people out here remember, that they care and are still actively searching for the missing seven. Stuff like that means a _lot_ to VOLKS - they love their fans as much as we love their dolls!

    7. Did not expect that! Poor yahoojp seller forgive my false assumption.

I wonder what has happened to the stolen dolls *sight*.

    8. Paleonaturist: I agree with you, and as members of the community we should definitely help Mr. Shigeta and keep an eye out on the whereabouts of the missing dolls and report anything suspicious ^^, although whether it is the missing doll or not is up to Volks to decide.

    9. It is in the Q&A sections. Two users (I guess at least one is from DOA, since someone earlier posted that she had left a request for pic of headplates) left requests to see pic of headplates. Both times, the seller replied that he/she does not know how to post more than 3 pic thus cannot post more pic. In the first reply, he also mentioned that the head plate has fallen off so there is none on the back of the head.

But like I said, Volks has all of the FCS record and photos; so I am pretty sure they know the truth to it all and they are making their announcement based on their decision. So we will just need to sit and watch.

Also keep our eyes opened for the rest of the dolls.

    10. That's still suspicious, regardless of whether it's one of the stolen dolls or not. The seller could simply email the picture to the user or via a pm, right? Plus that's an incredibly new mold, so it's rather unlikely the headplate would fall off so quickly...:|

    11. Not really. The headcap on my F33 fell off two days after I got him and I had to glue it back on. It consistently falls off and I am about ready to just keep it off.

    12. Would the number on the headcap be recorded on the FCS-related papers (the little angel's "pedigree?" XP)?

    13. Oh, really? Well that sucks. Bad glue, maybe? But still, if it were me I'd at least keep the headplate. Then again, I'm a packrat :XD:

    14. I received an e-mail from Sato manager this morning (9:03 am in Japan). The contents of the e-mail are about the same with the email which Sheri received.

It is not written at all whether this MSD F-22 on Y!J was really ordered at Tenshi no Sato.

There are something I think, but I do not post it here now for some reason. I might do it in the future though.

    15. I correct this.

      This is impossible. I'm sorry.

      And,

The auction says "元の衣装は付きません。". This means "The original outfit is not included.". But FCS is sold in nude. So this is strange.

That's all I can tell now.

    16. Maybe the seller meant the Omukae dress?

    17. I feel it may be caught a little complexed, but 元の衣装 is not Omukae dress in Japanese.

    18. I agree, it is unlikely that a person would use the words "元の衣装" when they are referring to Omukae outfit in Japanese.

Either way, due to the lack of further information; it is very hard to determine the truth behind this doll. I hope we will not see the remaining 6 on YJ soon.

If the SD16 girl shows up that is for sure a tell-tale sign, since she is absolutely LE.

    19. The two pairs of eyelashes as Ria corrected isn't available by FCS but if you request the Dolly Dr and they understand what you are saying this is possible. The eyelashes look very much like how eyelashes are set on Renee. Is it possible someone asked to have lashes like Reneee and Volks obliged?

    20. At first you need to receive FCS doll at your house or at Volks Sumika or Sato. In the next step, you need to bring that doll to Dolly Dr (in Kyoto) to order the "eyelash setting" service. But you cannot ask it at the same time of FCS.
If the seller had gotten such an option service, it is usually described in auction.
