Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. *alert* SEVEN DISPLAY DOLLS MISSING FROM NY DOLPA

Jun 8, 2008

    1. I am sorry that you are having to deal with this, but also glad that this may lead to catching the culprit if it is indeed the missing doll. I think it will all work out for you though. Thank you for keeping us updated.

    2. Usual One Off Models do not come with magnets...
I do not think Volks sold One Off F-22 with such a makeup in Japan, as far as I know.

Volks cannot easily publicize it even if the seller is a thief.
The chase of the thieves may cost dearly than the expense that they had bet on 7 dolls.
So I do not think you'll hear "That doll is a stollen doll" from Volks.
But it will be a help for Volks to know this.

I send hugs to you, ShuriTigerH.

    3. Now that I've seen the signature, i think you really did end up with one of the stolen dolls, did the seller give you a return address? perhaps they still have the other dolls, so if you notify volks, they may be able to track them down and get the rest before they sell the others

good luck! im sure they will allow you to keep your girl though, for being so honest and telling them

    4. Let us know how this goes please. I hope you get to keep your girl.

    5. She is so lovely!! She needs lots of love now I think :aheartbea The headcap plate is confusing me though. If she had no plate - what is the deal with her having one now? Could someone have glued in one from a completely different doll?
I am glad you won this sweet fairy girl and really hope she is yours to keep!!

    6. I would assume you now have that person's address also.
Be sure that you tell them that she lied about the head plate.
You did the right thing by buying this girl.
Prehaps Volks will reward you. :)

    7. Just curious, what is the skintone of this girl? I cannot tell from the various sources of pictures =A= sometimes she looks NS, sometimes WS.

    8. She's WS, Byouyuuken^^.

    9. Call me nub but I hafta say I'm kinda surprised, from the pictures she really looked NS to me,esp the shot where you're showing her headplate. :sweat:sweat

    10. Volks WS isn't exactly as pure white as Luts or Dollmore WS. And my flash messes up colors>.>

    11. Thank you ^^. I'm still trying to figure out what ears she has, but the MSD one-off boy is definitely NS I think. In that case maybe the ears aren't exchangeable, but as Aree said the ears could have also came from any other whiteskin FCS MSD.

    12. I put her next to my NS Nana-with-Suigintou-body. Definitely white:)

      And to compare faceups:

    13. Oh wow! At least one has been found. I took a couple minutes flipping between the two pics, and I can see where the faceup was changed just slightly to try to throw people off. The eyebrows are just barely noticable in the bottom pic, but they are definitely the same. Hopefully the rest of the dolls will be found soon.

    14. If the faceup was altered, it was certainly done by a pro. I can't tell where "kosher" ends and "altered" begins, that's for sure.

    15. Either way, she really is gorgeous *_*. Congratulations! I'm looking forward to hearing from Mr. Shigeta who will certainly be pleased to know that she has found herself a good home at last. Don't worry too much about it ^^.

    16. There are a couple things that make me think this is in fact not the girl from Dolpa.

      - The are some small differences in the face-up.
      - Perhaps I'm not remembering correctly (someone who was there or has better photos please let me know if I'm wrong), but wasn't the boy she was next to NS? He looks like it in the photo byouyuuken linked, if he is there's no way those are his ears.
      - And also, why would a display model have a one-off headplate?

I know people would really like to see these dolls found, I would as well. But I think perhaps in eagerness for their return, there's a little too much jumping the gun.

    17. I do see what you mean about the ears.
The male doll's ears look a bit thinner to me,but I'm no expert.
Although between the lies and that these ears don't seem to match this body you can tell something is going on here.
Prehaps the seller lied because they knew about the stolen dolls and thought that someone may try to accuse them. Maybe this isn't the stolen doll, but a doll she obtained in Japan at an event. Clearly there must be more of this doll out there since Volks said it wasn't the stolen doll and left it at that. But who know,we'll be finding out soon enough! :)

    18. I'm sorry I confused everyone -_-. I was suspecting that the ears are the same sculpt of ears as the ones from the MSD boy and seeing that this girl is possibly the stolen doll, the seller might also have the MSD boy in possession. But as sleep_pattern said yes...the boy is NS and I was a little confused about the girl's skintone. Anyways it couldn't have been his ears then if the skintone doesn't match but still, ears are replaceable parts and it doesn't detract from the fact that the girl is very similar to the stolen doll from NYC. The only discrepancy in that is that Volks told us that the missing dolls don't have headplates, but does have signatures. Shuri's girl has both and isn't that signature by Ciera? Is there any info to who designed the one-off models at the NYC Dolpa?

Anyways my point is that the seller is very fishy all throughout the auction. he/she lied about the headplate, didn't mention the signature, and didn't say where the one-off doll came from at all. All of these things lead one to think that this doll is illegitimate in some way that the seller would have felt the need to hide all those information.

    19. What about the other MSD elf that was stolen? The one in the yellow dress. She had ears like that but was she white skin?

In any case this doll is beautiful, congrats!

    20. There is always that chance that parts could have been moved around to throw people off, as was mentioned. But we have no real way of knowing except by if the seller tries to auction another doll that is under suspicion.
