1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

*alert* SEVEN DISPLAY DOLLS MISSING FROM NY DOLPA

Jun 8, 2008

    1. 10 Years of dolls, 19 Dolpas, 3 New York Dolpas, 5 Osaka Dolpas and I don't even know how many other Dolpas and Tea Parties.

I hate to break it to you all, but eventually... there were bound to be similar "one of a kind" dolls in terms of face-ups. You can only reinvent the wheel so many times.

I really do believe and hope that ShuriTigerH's girl is this Dolpa 19, girl so that she's able to keep her and enjoy her without any thoughts or worries that this was the girl stolen from the New York Dolpa.

I think a lot of people just really want these dolls found, and as such clung firmly to the belief that this similar girl must be one of the stolen dolls.

I would love to see these dolls found as much as anyone... but I think there are some very slim odds that this bunch will ever be seen again, at least any time in the near future.

    2. I'd like to say (or reiterate) that gathering as much information as you can on a suspicious auction is a good idea. It may come to nothing, but speculation has its role to play. Since many of these auctions, once completed, disappear soon, simply getting the link has limited value (I've no idea how easy it is for Y!J or eBay to access the complete information, including images, on an out-of-date auction).

This is where screen capture is your friend. It's not difficult to take a screen capture, and if you can't do it yourself, you can always ask a friend or another member. Basically:

Windows: Press the Print Scr key. Paste the image (it's saved to your clipboard) into an image editing program. Here are more detailed instructions: http://graphicssoft.about.com/cs/general/ht/winscreenshot.htm. (There is also a video tutorial link on this page.)

Mac: Press Command-Shift-3. The image is automatically saved to your desktop (rename it if you need to take multiple screen caps so it doesn't get replaced by the next screen cap). Here are more detailed instructions: http://graphicssoft.about.com/od/screencapturemac/ht/macscreenshot.htm

If the auction page is long, just scroll down and take additional screen caps as necessary. Keeping these images could help in the investigations. If the auction proves legitimate, you can just delete them.

    3. The plate is one reason this should have never been posted as this being one of the stolen dolls. Mr. Shigeta even said it was not, that was posted back on 7/21.

I hope in the future the mods here will take a look at this thread since there are many pages of speculation and accustations that were groundless. This thread really should be locked since if someone does find a doll they think may be one of the stolen dolls they should be contacting Volks instead of posting here.

    4. I disagree with you. I feel if member want to try to find Volks dolls they should. I also feel that the mods have good judgement about what they should or should NOT do. I wouldn't tell them what kind of posts are acceptable.

    5. Why close it? It'd be better to post here and contact volks. If a stolen doll is found, I'd rather not spend time looking for it.

    6. Actually, the time has come to close up this thread, at least for awhile, because this has all become outrageous speculation and isn't helping anyone. Please use the News thread if actual facts come to light about the poor stolen dolls from NY Dolpa. However, the moderators wish to reiterate that any member with information that could lead to one of the dolls should contact Volks or FDQ about it, as DoA is unfortunately unable to really help in this case.

Also...in future, the mods would appreciate being PMed if there is a concern with a thread or anyone can use the report function, rather than posting one's discontent to the thread itself. It would help us out a lot more, as we don't always visit a thread just because we're mentioned in it. ;) Thanks!
