1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

All Boys or all Girls????

Apr 14, 2010

    1. I have more female dolls than male, but I also just buy the dolls I love without paying much attention to gender.

    2. I only have one doll at the moment, but I tend to look at male sculpts more. Usually when I see a new girl doll announced, I either forget about it or look and go "meh", but guy dolls...I have to look. xD

    3. I have two dolls and both are male. I seem more attracted to the male molds. I do eventually want to get a girl though.

    4. I originally only had girl dolls (plus an anthro). Then I picked up a male floating head. Then (almost a year later), I finally got myself a boy - resisting Tan Brown turned out to be too difficult. Now I have two more boys on order (one who will share his body with my floating head).

I guess I am fussier about my male dolls than my female dolls. It's easy for a male doll to have a body I don't like (body builder or androgynous), or features I don't like (girly faces, anime style, massive chins), whereas girls have fewer things I disapprove of (only anime style, really).

    5. I love my boy dolls but I am extatic about my MEN dolls!
I collected fashion dolls before BJDs and in that genre, boy dolls are given the shaft and everyone gushes over the female dolls. That being said, I am elated to see that the opposite is true here.

I love my male dolls but one of them just had to go and be straight so I got him a girl. As it turns out, he did not like her very much so now I have a 2nd girl on her way. This is where the madness will stop though, no more girl dolls after this one and the one which i got previously will be looking to be re-homed real soon. One remale is enough in the mix lol!

    6. At first, I had interest only in girls. I'm an artist and I mostly paint women's faces. I wanted to make female clothing. Then I began to notice how interesting the photography is when it creates a genuine sense of the dolls relating to each other. Then I caught up with some very tempting prices. I bought one SD male,,,then felt the MSD girls should have their own guy.

A whole load of reasons why followed,,, and now I probably have more boys than girls. I like the challenge of giving the guys depth in their appearance and in the personality development.

    7. I was originally planning to only get boys, but when I ran across a Gretel I just had to have her. So my plans are to have both now :)

    8. I only have male dolls so far. And at the moment I am happy with them. There are very few girl molds I do like and even with them, I never had the urge to actually buy them. *shrug* ^^;; And I actually don't like the female body very much in general. For me male bodies are far more interesting.

    9. Well, I have 4 boys and 1 girl right now. I tried to get used to my girl for two months but I gave up in the end. I can't bond with her very well until now when I turn my girl into a boy. It is such a pity since I love all the cute dresses for girl.
I am still waiting for 2 more boys to come. I like girl dolls but I don't see any girl dolls that make me want to buy yet.

    10. Second time around here. Lately I was trying to figure out how to hone down the volume of dolls I have collected, and even still want. I thought maybe I would focus back on girls, like I thought I was going to when I first started out.

But then I scanned through a ton of photography of guys. Wow! When an artist knows how to bring depth and life to the male face and form, they are the most amazing of all. Guess that isn't going to work. NOW, I want Bernard Dollshe, Saint Dollshe....a WHOLE new group of interesting "types" to look at and consider how I would like to paint them and develop their "souls"...

    11. When I started out I intended to keep my collection balanced. But now, I have only 5 males in the entire hoarde. I guess that's because I love dressing up dolls all pretty and having them cosplay, and there are just fewer male cosplays I want to do.

    12. I've only ever owned girl dolls even though boys have "called out" to me. I just don't feel like they would be as much "fun". For my girls, I make them cute dresses and the like. If I had a boy, he'd need "boy" clothes.

I'm not saying that boys need to only wear boy clothes, it's just that's how I feel about how I would dress my dolls. I feel that if I'm going to dress my boy as a girl, I might as well have a girl. (Again, this how I feel about my dolls, if you wanna dress yours boys as girls and girls as boys that's fine with me).

Still, there are some boys that "call" to me and make me consider it. I won't know until I get one, I suppose. :o

    13. I am saving to get my first resin doll. The one I want is a girl. However, I plan to have boys as well. My non-resin dolls consists of boys and girls with girls outnumbering boys by only a little bit. I guess I like the mix as I sew my dolls clothes and enjoy making outfits that range from gender specific to unisex.

    14. looks like sometime it would be easier to dress them up or sth when they were in the same gender. but as soon as i crash to a new doll suddenly apart from the gender thing, that balance just broke...but as i know my friend keep them in all boys just because she believes that girls might bring her bad thing and she always avoid herself from girls even they were really pretty..XD

    15. I have three and all are girls. I do plan on getting a boy in the future but there aren't any sculpts that have caught my attention. It's not that I won't buy a boy, I just haven't found the right one.

    16. Because this thread made me curious, I actually went and counted. I have a ratio of two girls for every boy :P

    17. all boys here. i have owned several female dolls but none of them ever managed to stick around. now i only look at female headsculpts when i'm thinking of making it a boy ^^''

    18. Only girls for me, ^^
Except Ayumu, she was a boy first, but I trade her body for a girl one, so finaly she is a real girl.

But I have one boy head , Johnny Depp, need a body, but girls always are first so he is still waiting, poor man.

    19. Well, I only have boy dolls right now, but really want to add some girl dolls to the mix. I'm just a little fussy when it comes to the girl dolls though. But I do have a wishlist: Iplehouse Jessica, Dollstown Seola, LittleFee Ante. I can't wait to get them, but I also want to get so many other boy dolls that the girls always end up not being purchased. Priorities, priorities! xD

    20. There's only ever been one female sculpt that I've liked, and that's Iplehouse Ashanti in Ebony skin. Being that I doubt I will ever get her, I'll probably be sticking with male dolls for the rest of the foreseeable future.
