Catdancer - Your Luna looks awesome! I personally like the blonde wig best. Did you ever get a new faceup on your Jessica? I'd love to see it since she was my old girl.

unfortunately I sold her, so I could get Luna...I really like the RS color, if they re-issue Jessica in RS I may get her again, I just didn't like her in the NS as much as I thought I would.

 

thanks! it was the default faceup {I bought her 2nd hand} but I removed the lip color, it was too purpley for my taste, and I added more color to her eyes, and enhanced her cheeks and nose... the pics are a bit washed out, they were just quick pics in a poorly lit room with my flash..I didn't feel like lugging out my huge light box and setting it up so late in the night..

 

I just got my first Iplehouse yesterday - an EID Luna Tamer I bought here in the marketplace and I am completely blown away by the quality and finishing of the resin sculpting and casting, even the little Iplehouse logo inset into the back of the heads looks so classy, she's the first EID I've had a chance to see in person and not just photos, now I want more even more than before!

I have a Tedros on order that I just paid off and really want Luo, Chase and Jessica...sigh.... I am in mad Iplehouse lust mode!

But Luna will be fun to do do the blushing and faceup on, especially the kitty parts - now if my PanPastel set & new airbrush would just get here!!! I promise to post some photos when I get her done!

 

Not sure this is the right thread for this question, but can anyone tell me what size eyes they have in their Luna? On the Iple site it says 16mm for NC Luna Tamer but for Basic Luna it says 14mm. Which size fits best?

 

For the eyes, both sizes fit so it's just a preference on how much color vs how much white you want to be showing. I like 16mm in mine personally.

Has anyone else with a Luna Tamer been having problems with the hooks on her feet breaking? I've had both hooks on her right cat and heel foot break on me. First one was last month at a con, while I was putting her pants back on after readjusting her knee joint. Not touching her foot.
Second was earlier today at a ren faire. I was holding her in my arm while walking, hadn't even got to the enterance when my other hand barely hit her foot and it broke off.
I'm already waiting on my replacement cat foot from Iplehouse, but am going to ask them if I could have them replace her with a Basic Luna since it could be that it was a bad batch.

 

that's an easy fix, just sand the hump down drill a hold and glue in a hook...I've done several pair for people

 

Not to be mean or anything, but that's not the point. Two foot breakages in a month after I paid so much for her.
I don't even play with her that much. Though not cause I'm not bonding with her it's that I haven't felt up to taking pics of her and such.

 

That happened to my RS Jessica's foot. I rec'd her from Iplehouse that way. They sent me a new foot, and I haven't had any new breakage.

 

I had that happen with my Tamer's high heeled feet. I ordered another pair from Iple.

If both breaks was on the right side, maybe the string is too tight on that side? I hope Iplehouse will help you, I agree that two breaks in a month seems to much to be a coincident. Good luck on getting it solved.

 

No, I understand that they aren't cheap! I have a RS Luna.. but they shouldn't have used Resin hooks for such a big doll.. the tension on the elastic is alot and those hooks just aren't strong enough.
I've done a couple pairs of Akando Feet and a EID girls feet, its an easy fix, but if they used metal hooks like other companies then it wouldn't happen.

I just offered advice so that people know it can be fixed if you don't want to wait for feet to come in that STILL have resin hooks...I charge a very small fee to do it, and I can have them done and back in the mail within 24 hours of receiving them and they won't break again..and I also use apoxy sculpt around the base to insure they won't ever come out...

 

I have not had a problem with the hook thing, just her foot turning so she stands on her ankle. I found a thread for a fix for it, but it seems like a pain to do. So I just don't stand my girl up much. It also happens to be her right foot that does it. hm.

 

The hook on my Jessica's right high-heeled foot also broke a few days ago. But I was clumsily wrestling her out of a too-tight boot, so it was entirely my fault. I superglued it back on and have ordered another pair.

I have also heard that it is a common problem, so I guess we need to be very careful with the feet. Too-tight stringing certainly wouldn't help, but I find mine stands and poses better with fairly loose stringing anyway, so loosening the stringing might help as well.

 

I'm really worried about the foot loop breakage as well. I know you could drill a mini hook into the foot but again, I'm distressed that it could destroy the structural integrity of the foot itself and then THAT would snap in half at the drill point, or that the tip of the screw would go through the bottom of the foot. After paying 800 or so, that would scare the pants off me.
