1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Angel Egg Resin Dolls by Marmite Sue

May 30, 2012

    1. That is good to know GuyFawkes. I just assumed it would be the usual 3 months most BJD orders seem to take even though she said Late June or July. I have been reading about all the orders and I can imagine how busy she must be getting orders out especially when people want them painted. Usually I am very impatient when I order but for some reason I am not this time because it is that time of year that I have lots to do so not concentrating on dolls so much. Now once they say it has been shipped, then I stalk the mail service tracking. I check sometimes 3 times a day which is crazy.

    2. Oh my! How wonderfully you painted them! I love your interpretation. These beautiful girls are so versatile. I love them all delicate with pale colors, and I also love how they can go dramatic as well.

      Jay

      What a beauty! Just gorgeous.

I recently discovered these beautiful girls and am now thoroughly obsessed.

      Jay

Caracal I think your wonderful paint job has brought out all the beauty and delicacy of this very special girl. Wonderful!

Just wanted to let you guys know that angel egg resin dolls fit into enchanted doll accessories. I had to tweak the right foot a bit by moving her toe, and slightly sanding the edge of the heel, but she nicely fits into the ED shoes. I believe she would fit into other Enchanted doll accessories with some tweaking. It's a very exciting discovery. I also really love the sculpt of the nude normal body! has a lot of subtle sculpting. She really knows her anatomy well XD I have no clue as to when I would fix up her face. busy with so many projects 0.0

    4. Does anyone have the older normal pink, normal yellow and current white resin colour as comparison?

    5. Sailor Orbit, I love that dress!
      KaIsUki, your girl is amazing.
I have the old NS body and the new white, I'll take a picture.

    6. I think I prefer the white although pictures don't show the true colour.

    7. I love your girl so much! Thank you for sharing photos of her. Such an exquisite beauty. I'm totally in love with these dolls!

      Jay

    8. My Milk on the natural body is here!!! I also got an additional Dentelle face. I love them both so much! Such an exquisite girl. The body is so beautiful. Though I have to admit, I don't usually work on this smaller scale so doing her faceup and body blushing has had it challenges. I hope to have her finished soon.

Thank you Marmite Sue for sharing your amazing talent with us!

    9. Would love to see pics of your new girl when she is completed.. I am curious about her feet size... Don't know what doll shoes will fit her other than enchanted doll shoes...

I am so impatiently waiting for July but then again, with my work commitments it would be more rational to receive her when I am more freed up in July :)

Keep the pics coming for these previous girls please !!!

    10. I am dying to see what you do Jay. I remember you saying you don't like doing small dolls. I love your gentle faceups so these dolls should be perfect for you. You did a Dollstown Momo for me with mani/pedi and I will be using that look to follow when I get my Milk and Una faceplates on the Pink Dentelle body. I don't think I will do eyelashes because I do not know what eyelashes to use and to get them in could be a challenge. If anyone has tips on putting them on please speak up. I have no idea what I will do with the body part. I may leave it blank except for the mani/pedi. It should be here the end of June to July. I think until she arrives I don't know what I will do. I want my doll to look simple but elegant. No bright colours. I do like blush though. I keep forgetting I ordered this doll because I am going to the UFDC doll convention in San Antonio in July and I am busy getting excited for that. My husband doesn't know I ordered this doll so of course you know it will arrive the day after I leave so no sneaking her into my private office where I keep my dolls and secret stuff. If she arrives a few days after I leave I can say I bought her down there and had her shipped home. I am all prepared for deception!!! haha

    11. Thank you, Shashy, that's so kind of you to say! The eyelashes are a royal pain. I tried several types including the ones that came with my precious girl. The problem is that the eyelid is such a small area to which the lashes can adhere. I had to re-glue an eyelash on one eye of both my heads. And even now I'm not sure they're very solid. But until someone shares on how to affix the eyelashes better, I'm afraid they'll have to just stay the way they are. I found the eyes a little difficult to place because of the shape of the head and the small amount of space in which to manipulate the eye. And I feel I didn't get the highest degree of detail as I would like on both the face and body. But with that said, I love my girl!!!

Nothing I have for clothes or shoes fit. But right now I'm happy to keep her nekkie because she has such a beautiful little body. I had fun styling her wig. She definitely takes a size 5/6. I tried other sizes just to see if they would work and the 4/5 was too small and the 6/7 was huge. Just thought I'd share that in case anyone is wondering about wigs.

Here is a picture of my completed Milk. Haven't had time to do photos of Dentelle yet.

    12. Jay! She is exquisite and a treasure the way you have painted her! Milk is my current favorite too. - Barb in MA

    13. Oh my goodness, Jay! She is so beautifully done, the eyelashes don't look out of place and looks so natural! I know Barbie size over flowing gowns or long dresses will fit Angel Egg dolls. long dresses will come to mid calf, short barbie dresses can be baby doll tops for her... But as you said she is beautiful nude as well, why would you hide all that fineness under clothes ;)

    14. Jay, she is gorgeous! Perfect faceup! How did you style her hair? It looks very nice!

    15. Lisianthus - thank you! I have to admit, she's a little treasure even without painting! I love her!

KaIsUki - such a nice thing to say. I especially appreciate it because she was such a challenge with her smaller size and all. Thanks for the tips about the clothes. My girl has flat feet. So maybe she'll be a little easier to find shoes for than if she had high heel feet. So far, she's still naked.

allurose - you're very kind to post such a nice comment. Thank you! Her wig was originally styled with tight curls on the bottom. I steamed those out to be soft waves, made the little coils on top, and braided the sides to meet in the back. You can't see the braids in the photo. Then I put the little sparkly bits on her hair.

      Jay

    16. Oh wow Jay, she is exquisite. That is exactly how I am envisioning my girl. I can't paint like you so it will be a challenge to get her half this nice, but I will try hard. Your eyelashes look great so let's hope they stay on. Such tiny dolls are really nice to look at but NOT to do eye stuff. You sure did her quick. Did you eat that day? I like how you did the wig. I wasn't sure about what size of wig to get so I ordered the ringlet wig that they show on the website. I can look through my wigs for something else once she arrives. After seeing your wig I may get adventuresome and change it a bit. I will think on that after I see how I like it the way it is.

I think thin shoes for this girl will be a challenge. We need skinny shoes, not the YOSD chunky type so does anyone know where to order from. My girl will come with the plain high heel fit and the flat feet. I don't really like those high heel feet. The Roccoco feet were not available anymore. Maybe if I paint the heel part I will like the shoes better. More like shoes and that gives me an idea. I could paint with pastels a faint line on the front like a sandal with a heel. What have others done with the feet? There is the hole part at the back for a ribbon so that is nice.

    17. Thank you, Shashy, for your sweet comment. I think just a lot of patience and perseverance will make the faceup process go easier. I look forward to seeing your precious one. These girls have such beautiful sculpts that it really doesn't take much to bring them to life. In fact, look how cute Stella Maris' girl looks even with no makeup!

I finished Dentelle today. Had to finally get completely different eyelashes and couldn't glue them all the way along the lid--just towards the outside of the eye. I found some small Eyeco soft eyes and that seemed to put a little less pressure on the eyelashes. For some reason I envisioned Dentelle as a redhead. I gave her the slightest scattering of freckles--very pale and soft like a fairy kiss. Currently Dentelle and Milk are sharing one body. I'm looking forward to them each having their own someday.

I made a thread with more pics of my precious Angel Eggs in the Gallery if you're interested:

Since my girls have no clothes, I had to give them fancy hair. I styled this wig too. I'm pretty sure it started as a Pretty Girl or Ginger. I did little braids across the top and then added pearls.

      Thank you for looking!

    18. Oh steaming! I can try that. Did you see the hair up or use pins...?
