1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Angel Egg Resin Dolls by Marmite Sue

May 30, 2012

    1. First of all I have to say I wouldn't worry about her having a deposit and getting your doll. Maybe she should not have people give deposits for such a long time but you will be fine I am sure. I got one of her resin lace bodies with two faces and it did take awhile but when it came it was beautiful. She forgot to give me two sets of eyes but after me emailing her she replied immediately and mailed the second set of eyes right away, she gives great customer service and that is why she is so busy, she is doing a lot plus she said she was sick for while. Remember there could be those types of things that causes her getting behind.

Renee_chan I love the colour of your ribbon but I personally would have the bows shorter or maybe thinner ribbon. It looks like a lot for her tiny body. I think making the bows smaller would do the trick though. Especially on the legs. After doing all that work, it would be a shame to have to do it over and making the bows smaller is easy, just cut a little off with the scissors. I will eventually have to be doing that and I am not looking forward to it. I have a few projects ahead of my girl and then she will get a new wig while she is unpainted so I can make it direct in her head and then paint her. I am doing very little body paint. I want her simple, pale, and light. Then she will get ribbons. Eli did the neck ribbon but I have to do the rest. I don't even know what ribbon I want. I do like silk the best. I might even try some of my antique lace and see how that looks.

    2. I agree that a smaller ribbon would be more effective

also, whenever I try to look at marmite sue's store, it always says down for maintenance. Is the store only up when she is accepting pre-orders?

    3. Quite true! Eli is 100% reliable and one of the nicest person to do business with. So don't be afraid for your deposit. You won't regret it when you get your doll, I'm sure she'll be fabulous ;) Last time I read from her she was busy with new orders for porcelain dolls and some exhibition dolls as well. I'm looking forward for the new site opening too.

    4. I have purchased from her before so that's why I was willing to do the deposit. She does have great customer service. But I guess I get antsy because this is the longest I had to wait and the most expensive. I guess it would be called impatience or excitement? I still have no clue what color I want the doll to be

    5. Lazhielle I know completely how you feel. You know in your own mind that you are probably OK, but it is a lot of money to have in another country for a doll you will not get for quite awhile. It is the unknown. I hate waiting. I want my dolls immediately and that just doesn't happen if it is being made especially for you. The longest I have had to wait is 7 months. I like those 2 - 3 month waits most dolls are but those are companies and this is a one woman workshop.

    6. What body have you ordered from Eli? Is it one of the Dentelle ornate types or the new two-part body she's developed?

    7. Yea I have not waited no longer than a year before, but I was paying as a layaway payment as well as waiting in the wait list. This wait will seem to be a year and half, I think I placed a deposit February last year. I think my girl would be ready sometime June next year? Possibly? Eli told me I would be allowed to use the deposit towards a gallery doll if I find one that I like.

    8. It is the dentelle ornate type, but I will be adding piercing in the middle of her body, towards the top. Maybe similar to her peach dentelle. I like that lace sculpt however not really sure what colors I would choose. I would either Umi or Dentelle head, or both, depending on my funds by the time my turn arrives.

    9. How lucky you are! I'm looking forward to getting one of her p.... dolls one day. I own 4 resins for the moment.

    10. She doesn't charge too much more than the resin for the p doll, maybe double the price, but yes there is a bit of wait since there are other people interested and she does the production of these by herself.

Do you have pictures of your angel egg dolls?

    11. I posted some photos of Red Jenny here a year ago or so.

    12. I really love the Marmite Sue Angel Egg dolls! I was so lucky to buy Carousel from pennysixpence here, it looks like EMS tried to deliver on Sat., but of course my building (it is an office) is closed that day- so I hope they try again today!!!

I will also eventually have a beautiful Blue Rose dentelle sooner or later, unfortunately her foot broke in transit, but Eli is seriously the sweetest best BJD artist in the world, she is fixing her at no cost (except shipping) even though I am not the original owner!

    13. Wow Galaticat, that is so awesome! I am sorry your baby had a broken foot, but that is amazing of Eli to fix her.

    14. I have yet to hear anything negative about Eli at all, the only complaint seems to be that she is slow, which is pretty understandable since she is doing these dolls herself and constantly working on her OOAK art dolls and new projects too. Marmite Sue and Popovy are the best dealers to interact with- such a dramatic difference from some other companies I have purchased from or tried to purchase from...

I can't wait to have some free time so I can get Carousel's hair fixed and fuss with her a bit, and take some photos. She just came today but I am so busy with work- arg!

    15. ditto! definitely think their service is excellent, and they are very sweet, understanding, patient people

    16. I like the "Milk" facial sculpt but have only seen one of these dolls in person. Not sure how I feel about them overall. They do photograph beautifully and the detailing of the lace is amazing.

    17. Does anyone know if she is accepting orders at the time?

    18. I think she was planning to re-vamp her site and open up orders for resins of the new large dolls, but seems to be a bit behind. Her site is still down while she sorts things out.

I am definitely looking forward to seeing what's next from this talented lady-

    19. awa!! me too @_@ i only recently discovered her but i know i need one of her sacred dolls in my collection *-*

    20. If you do get an Angel Egg you will just be floored by how beautiful and posable they are! Tiny little details like the creases on the bottoms of the natural feet and the curve of the bicep really stand out when you see one in person. But beware, they can be a little addictive which is pretty tough on the wallet. I don't really mind the long stretches between order periods; it gives me more time to save up :)
